Well done video so I subbed and everything. So I gotta say I have around 850 hrs in Tarkov and I’m about as bad as it gets. The last few days I have been playing arena and then finally loaded my first EFT raid and holy moly…! It makes a huge difference for me because I had always been scared to take fights in EFT and I would run and more than half the time I would die anyway because of it and also too never got better because I wasn’t doing the thing I needed to practice but being in arena where nothing is on the line and pushing fights has made me noticeably better. I’ve done around 20-30 free for all games. If anyone is a new player I strongly urge you to play arena and at least warm up with it. It will make you better. I know it has me.
First and foremost, thank you for taking the time to comment. Made my day to know I was on the right track with this video. And, really appreciate the sub. Before Arena it really did feel impossible at times to get better at Tarkov. You HAD to take fights, but sometimes you don't want to because of loot and whatever else. I took last wipe off and I'm stupid rusty. Free for all has been a life saver. Crazy how much Tarkov is when you get a little aggressive, right? Glad to hear it's helped you so much. How's the wipe been so far otherwise?
Another benefit to prefiring is that it's basically your only defense against desync. Sometimes it's on, sometimes it's off. Sometimes a player will walk around a corner, spot you, check his inventory to make sure you're an enemy, walk up to you, smoke a cigarette, and shoot you in the head before you ever see him. Sometimes that same player will know exactly where you are before you even make it around the same corner. In both scenarios, the best thing you can do is shoot the hot zone before you see anybody. Gauge the sound of the footsteps to guess when the enemy will become visible, and fire an instant BEFORE you expect to see them. When rounding a corner towards a known camping spot, begin firing at the spot before you actually emerge. You'll notice your wins go up.
This is a great point. Wish I would have included it in this video. Desync is a great reason to prefire. Crazy how when you do that sometimes the player won't even fire back and it's probably because you aren't even on their screen yet.
1: hip fire A LOT more 2: learn Left and Right peeks, use shoulder swap religiously 3: Anticipation: learn things like, enemy position, team position, when to reload and heal. 4: 1 v whatever's: like any game when out numbered, try to take 1v1's. time pushes and reloads, and maybe influence player behavior to be more predictable. 5: Pre fire more. if you know where some one is / think they are, pre fire. you don't have to pack mags or find ammo when your done fighting.
Thank you for the TLDR. I'd say 2 is really more about swings. Less about peeking. The peeking part really isn't that hard. Swinging is a hard skill to master.
I really appreciate it. I wanted it to be something that could be there for a while. Been trying to keep that in mind when I make my guides. Things change in Tarkov so much, but there are some big things that really help regardless of the wipe. Thank you for watching!
I don't comment much but I just wanted to say great vid. I used your advice to hip fire and I am winning A LOT more fights now... did not realize how crucial hip fire is till I watched your vid so thanks!!
I’m not really big into the team game modes so I’m Quite disappointed that all the tasks are only applicable in team Modes. Why can’t the damn tasks apply in lone hero BSG?
Agreed. They lean pretty heavily that way. Although, I've re-rolled my tasks a lot to get Last Hero dailies. Not sure about the later tasks that might be tied to Ref, but the dailies can be Last Hero...although I know sometimes money can be a limiting factor there to constantly re-roll.
Tarkov arena pvp is very different. That said what helped me was learning to reposition with map knowledge and something huge I learned was to rotate on enemy's during engagements you can get distance and rotate. Scopes help a ton with this.
some things to note, tarkov and arena have really bad servers, this is why pre firing is really important i cant tell you how many times i or my teammate have shot at a guy, seen his head kick back twice, and blood splatter all over the wall, but he took no damage and on the kill cam (NEEDS TO BE IN REGULAR TARKOV) you never actually fired a bullet from his point of view.
That's a good point. Definitely plays into it. Think it's just a generally looked over FPS skill at times as well. Think a lot of people only go with see enemy > then engage. Not always the right call especially if they're coming around a corner. Add in desync and you're spot on. I'd love to see some kill cams in Tarkov. I get why they're not though. Think it would give an unfair advantage and info to the squad that eliminates you? Curious to see what you think.
@@SoopChefTV well, unfortunatley i think kill cams should exist, maybe at end of match replay if it could be cheating for the teams but as far as arena goes. yea there is lots of cheating. Started asking people in games and in 1 out of 4 matches one of my teammates openly admits to cheating, whether it be aimbot or wall hacks, usually wall hacks but will toggle aim if need be. so if thats 1 out of 4 on my team, likely 2 out of 4 games including the enemy team, and thats JUST for people who are WILLING to openly ADMIT to it in front of everyone, so im defintely leaning more toawards 3 out of 4 or 4 out of 4 games will have at least one cheater. the kill cams have been a great eye opening experience to how much is actually happening on a no risk arcade style game, so i can only imagine how much in regular tarkov. but yea kill cams have let me know how much desync there actually is and how many hackers there actually are.

Excellent video! I liked that you covered core mechanics/concepts rather than something wipe specific

4:14 shout-out to the plug.
Oh man was that you or your homie?
My response is generally to aim down sights but really interesting points made here about point firing, will work on that!
Yeah! Think it will help a lot. Takes a long time to get the muscle memory down, but it can make a world of difference.
Point fire was nerfed it will get you killed

What's the biggest thing that helped your Tarkov PvP?

lol wat about hit registration
what about it?
