You ain't the brightest bulb in the bunch. But your passion and curiosity can carry you beyond where most genius would go. Keep it up Danny! Your passion is inspirational.
Danny S Hodges hi Danny I love watching your videos I have a question though I have tried many antennas but I keep getting the same issue with channel 23 it does good for about week or so then out of the blur I cannon watch it I have tried replacing the cable and everything but nothing seems to help or work any suggestions would be helpful thank you for all your videos
Danny you know me but i know you i've ben watching your channel now for about a year and it kills me to see people thowing there money away on junk so i started today on a campaign to tell everybody i see on youtube about your antennas and THANKS for the good work ive' got your back!
Danny your allright in my books i wished i lived next door to you buddy i would be over all the time helping you ,you have a big heart like me and it drives me nuts to see people thowing there money away on this junk they buy hoping to get more channels so im going to my best by telling everybody about your antennas man your the best dont give up i have your back the next time i see some IDIOT! running your stuff down i will personally come and help you knock there lung loose man it gripes me to see crybabyies!!!!!!!!!! that are so stupid make fun of you you have a big heart and all you do is try to help people so the next time somebody runs you down or cusses you out they better watchout or both of us will load up in the buggy and they may loose two LUNGS what do you think about that man i have had it with these IDIOTS IM FIXING TO LOADUP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Several years ago I built the 4 place coat hanger antenna. Then I figured I'd try the 8 place coat hanger antenna, side by side. Now I didn't have the signal testing setup like you do, but i wasn't satisfied with the performance. So I built one with 6 places and it did better than the 8 place one. I know how much you like to try things out, so just a thought.
When I was a kid in the early 60s we built antennas like this on a 1 by piece a wood to get UHF. We had a VHF TV with a UHF converter back then. We had two of these type antennas on an old ladder bolted to the house. One faced east west and the other north south to get everything in our area. There was equal lengths of ladder line 300 ohm tv wire going to each antenna. At the junction was the TV 300 ohm ladder line or open wire TV cable going into the house to the TV UHF converter box. Where it converted to VHF channel 3 to feed the old round screen Zenith TV set. Grandma loved L. Welk show and the music on there. And Grandpa would watch it with her. Grandpa later changed the antennas and put some chicken wire o the back side of a new set him and I built together. BTW my Grandpas first UHF TV antenna was a blown out 500 watt light bulb hooked to the 300 ohm wire and put in the attic to get channel 20 in Springfield Illinois. Thanks for the antenna design it made me remember many good times with my Grandpa. 73s Jimmy, WX9DX
Lucky you - good times with the grand folks. I never had any of that. Count your blessings my man cuz you have had a lot more than many of the rest of us.
This antenna type works best if you have signals coming in from different directions or if something are obstructing and spreading the signal, like trees. If you have signals from just one direction then the directional yagi antenna type are superior. I have one community that has a single transmit tower far away and the tv shop recommended and installed these type of antennas as in the video and most people had pixelations and a bad picture. Installing a yagi fixed those problems as it has higher gain and produce a higher signal level during those circumstances.
I have built all your antennas and the one that I came up with that works 10 ft off the ground is a double grey hoverman stacked. My towers are 60 miles away, lots of trees and hills between us. I did put a amp on it and I get all, all the time. I have built two ultimate antennas and am starting to sell them here. I have subscribed and am looking foward to this antenna that you say that will blow all of these away. I'll let you know how I do selling them
Antennas are dependant on frequency vs length of antenna material. If you just look up and calculate the size or length you might get a very long distance antenna that really works consistently. Thank for trying. Look it up and you could possible great some great antennas. To help people or even make a little extra money in you spare time.
Danny, A few of us are concerned about you! We hope you're ok. If you just need a break that's fine but if you needed help it'd be good to know. Hope all is well up in Dublin
The reason I asked about the attic mounting is because of lightning. Could you show us how you ground the antennas, masts and lead in cable on your professionally installed jobs? Thanks
I need to make one of the side-by-sides. Now we need to see a quad. Take two of those side-by-sides and stack them vertically and hook them together with a splitter/combiner.
Hey Danny Wesley here south Texas have a technical question for you. I have mentioned to you several times about troppo being a ham operator I am interested in long distance. I want to build a side by side but they are more complicated I'm going to do a stacked. I have followed every single thing you have ever posted related to television antennas and you say if you don't need a booster they will hurt you. I dunno I will be skewing far away from the local channels to try to get into Houston Texas television. You come from the CB days doesn't matter how big your linear is you got to wait for Mother Nature to talk DX. but I want to capitalize on the conditions. What happens to the local signals when you unplug the amplifier? Does it go back to normal or does it kill the signal from the local stations
There is an antenna guru who modeled an improved version of the 7 ft. Channel Master parabolic antenna. He modeled it with a 7 element Log periodic antenna instead of the two bay bow tie and improved the gain by a few DBi. He also modeled using a 10 ft dish with the same 7 element antenna and the modeling software said it would get 20 - 22 dbi across the UHF band.
Hi Danny, I enjoy your videos very much! I have a unique situation where I live and wondered which of your antennas would work best for me. I live in a valley and do pick up 8 channels despite the hills around me. I believe the signal actually bounces off the hill in front of my house because the antenna has to be pointed 45 degrees to the left of the tower direction which is north so I point the antenna west. Let me know and keep up the good work!
I built your gray hoverman antenna and dumped cable. I don't regret it. My question is, can i build a second antenna, mount it back to back with the other antenna and point it in the opposite direction? Will one interfer with the other?
This is the video I've been waiting for Danny! I'm nearly 100 miles away from the nearest tower. Going to give this one a go this summer. Thanks! You got an ideas on building a cell phone antenna ?
hey Danny why not a pop up tent so you won't have to wait till dark, one from Walmart 50-80 bucks 10x10 ez up and down in minutes. may be worth a shot?
I got an idea Danny do a stacked and cophased 4 antennas one coax. your little trailer you could do anything you could also do side by sides for panels
Hi, you might should have tried putting each antenna in the same SPOT for testing, because there are HOT SPOTS where the signal is stronger, and there are dead spots where the signal is weaker.
There is now. He started selling them on ebay. He even sells kits that have all the parts if you want to make one yourself. Search for the Ultimate outdoor antenna.
what if you stacked he double & or double the stacked & or used the stacked & the doubled together try putting the doubled on top & below the stacked & then put them side beside
I love you Danny but this video confused me completely. You got the Ultimate, single, dual-gangling, Stacked, Endless. I don't have even an inkling of what any of them are. You showed them but only for half a second and then on to the next one. I'm going to have to watch this video two or three more times to get it straight in my mind.
sad thing around here. We don't get much stations to pick up. I think if I'm lucky I get 3 from Augusta, one from Columbia Sc, but I cant get anything towards athens or atlanta
Raising it is based on location i have 2 antennas 500 foot away one does better raised up one is just mounted to a trailer hitch and barely off the ground it's kinda like setting a dishes elevation to high ses 3 just right g19
Also have you tried 1/2 raising and lowering may help you hit the sweet spot and may want to try on both sides may get lucky going up or down on the opposite. Side
Sorry missed that part in the video and didn't know was also wondering if you have ever tried a fta dish to anttenna convert that thing would be a monster
Okay Danny I did not delete the part of you being intelligent I said that you are an intelligent man and that's what I meant. But I was wanting you to see if you can get Wi-Fi in the internet that's the part I deleted I didn't want people reading that I didn't want to get in trouble but I say use intelligent and I mean it
Hi Danny.. I built your ultimate antenna (4 bay) exactly to specs.. with the reflector.. about 30' off of the ground.. using the Winegard preamp that you use.. and RG6 cable.. I'm trying to get ABC (65 mi.) and CBS (80 mi.) and I'm not able to pull them in.. Is there anything you could suggest that might increase the range a bit.. I'd sure appreciate your help.. The cable bill is a killer..
Actually, after leaving my comment, I pulled the antenna down and put it on an 8' mast.. It picked up ABC. I'm thinking maybe do an 8 bay and see if that'll grab CBS..
You ain't the brightest bulb in the bunch.
But your passion and curiosity can carry you beyond where most genius would go.

Love your videos, Danny. You've got a personality for UA-cam man.
TKS BROTHER
May GOD bless us both Danny. Hope you can make a stronger antenna to pull in two hundred stations. Now I want one of them for sure.
Very nice video. I do have a 7 foot parabolic Channel Master in storage. Still bright and shiny . Highest gain UHF antenna ever made.

I sure would like to build me one of the double side by side antenna!
Great video thank you.

ill do that
I need to make one of the side-by-sides. Now we need to see a quad. Take two of those side-by-sides and stack them vertically and hook them together with a splitter/combiner.
Then install them on a pole 200 feet in the air. My guess is we will be disappointed with the result. At least I think we will.
That tropy room makes Bambi CRY! (^:
Jajajaja!!!

I would like to see a Parabolic antenna. Don't see them much around here anymore but I no they was powerful. love the vids Danny.

You had me scarred for a little while. Now, I can procede with my dual side-by-side hybrid antenna!!!
Got any more good ones in the works??
lol heck yeah i do

Would your ultimate antenna bring Milton "Mr. Television" Berle back?
where do you get the white plastic parts. I think you mentioned they were for a fence? great videos.
Good work, Danny! Looks like your dancing girls want more than a good beat... :^)
LOL
I got an idea Danny do a stacked and cophased 4 antennas one coax. your little trailer you could do anything you could also do side by sides for panels
hi Danny point that bad boy straight up lets talk to those alien types
Hi, you might should have tried putting each antenna in the same SPOT for testing, because there are HOT SPOTS where the signal is stronger, and there are dead spots where the signal is weaker.
are you know what you thinking about Danny I'm one step ahead of everybody you want to do a stacked in a side-by-side for antennas.
You ever pick up Atlanta much down that way?
Danny , why was your poor dog pulling your golf cart ? Love your vid's bud, really.
Your a Smart Man
I wish there was a way to buy one of your antennas! I am a long way from you in N.Y. State.
There is now. He started selling them on ebay. He even sells kits that have all the parts if you want to make one yourself. Search for the Ultimate outdoor antenna.
Do you coat your antennas to prevent oxidation or corrosion ? Impressive antennas.
no coat
Danny, do you have any experience with mounting an antenna in the attic vs. the roof? Thanks
i never done that
I have and its not that hard, look at tv antennas here on youtube and you'll find a couple of guys doing this.
what do you use for an antenna pole? I want to try and get columbia, sc from my house but its way off
fence poles i show in my videos
ok, so like the top rails? I want to get mine up around 40 feet if possible.
the higher the better
that will be good
oh yes
what if you stacked he double & or double the stacked & or used the stacked & the doubled together try putting the doubled on top & below the stacked & then put them side beside
You gonna try stacking some Gray Hoverman antennas?
yeah
Danny-do you sell your antennas? Kevin
Danny, It's been a while since you posted a video, I hope you're ok.
Kind a wondering to hope he is just busy and everything is going smooth.
did the ulitimate antenna work good and the stacked antenna work good too danny
Thanks
your welcome danny
what web site are you using to evaluate the antenna signal strength?
none
what would that do...100 miles aint enough for you
You might want to get some Kroil to break things lose instead of a torch.
to late
So which is the best antenna?
Are you the Deer Hunter?
I love you Danny but this video confused me completely. You got the Ultimate, single, dual-gangling, Stacked, Endless. I don't have even an inkling of what any of them are. You showed them but only for half a second and then on to the next one. I'm going to have to watch this video two or three more times to get it straight in my mind.
Is this omnidirectional?
Danny what if you made a 4 bay ultimate antenna point all 4 directions
the wires would be deferent..i no how to settel all the bull may do a video
sad thing around here. We don't get much stations to pick up. I think if I'm lucky I get 3 from Augusta, one from Columbia Sc, but I cant get anything towards athens or atlanta
what town you live in
Danny, birds keep landing on my whiskers, and bending them. Do you ever have that problem?
no use 8 gauge wire
9 gauge cooper wire
built the hoverman.not tested yet. want to meet you and tammy and have a rib bbq. you talk real and have good stories.
allright
how about the idea of side by side varying the spacing
lol i checked that it was worse closer there is a sweet spot...i went back just to check that
Danny S Hodges great minds think alike
yep
yep

Raising it is based on location i have 2 antennas 500 foot away one does better raised up one is just mounted to a trailer hitch and barely off the ground it's kinda like setting a dishes elevation to high ses 3 just right g19

Hi Danny, un-protected WiFI is not illegal to receive. It becomes illegal if you break the security password.
