Yeah Jinx and Silco both thought Vi was dead technically. Which means Marcus taking Vi to jail, went riiiiight under silcos nose.

@@linamayela thts becus Marcus wanted to hide her existance frm Silco. Id imagine they only started dealing with each other after some time and when Silco asked about Vi, Marcus lied about it and then erased the documents later. He still needed to explain what happened in the undercity so he had to have used Vi as a scapegoat.
Viktor's sickness is likely due to the pollution if the undercity because he's from there also there is a theory he has muscular dystrophy.

I have a friend with muscular dystrophy. I remember when he could still walk with a cane, but he's been confined to a wheelchair for years now. I keep hoping that the gene therapy that has been tried out recently will be adapted to treat it.

Yes, it also shows that she hasn't really grown up mentally. She still exhibits childish mannerisms, like in her relationship with her "father", toying with things, etc. She is still partly like a 10-year old, a side effect of her trauma. (And Silco is doing absolutely nothing to help her with that.)

The instrument he was playing is called a Stroh violin. Everyone thought Vi was dead because Marcus illegally locked her up and didn't tell anyone (hence Catlyins comment to the jailer - 'I see a records of any arrest')

Love the reaction guys! Jayce and Viktor are around seven years older than Vi and Caitlyn; Jayce was around Caitlyn's family all the time when they were young because her family sponsored his research, so he thinks of her as a younger sister.

Also, glad you caught the parallel between Vander / Grayson and Silco / Markus. Many people don't seem to realize that Markus isn't just your evil corrupt cop. He kind of "learned" his lessons and tried to keep things together, but he's dealing with Silco, so, yeah
I love everything about this show. All the relationships to even the politics underneath everything, even the best shows that try to depict politics usually just end up spelling things out to be understood. Arcane instead it's all so subtle and believable. Someone like Medarda for example, she's just a great politician, how she moves and handles herself, it's just brilliant. She's like an anti-trope politician compared to other supposed well depicted ones like Laura Roslin or Josiah Bartlet who even at their best still invariably explained their actions at the level of second grader.
I had the same reaction as Sam when Vi was able to Hardcore Parkour right after getting out lol. Rip to that crow 😪. "They're a great.. " "I ship it" "...team" 😂 yeah Cait and Vi together are the best.
It really is one of those ships that basically became canon
A bit of timeline explanation since things are a little muddled:
-Caitlyn and Vi were both 14-16 around the time of Act 1 (eps 1-3), with Vi being about a year older. Powder was also 11-12 around that time.
-Jayce was 24, and Mel was only slightly older (I think someone said she was around 3 years older but I genuinely do not remember if this is true; she's older by a bit, but I don't remember if it was confirmed how much exactly)
-6-7 years have passed, which means Jayce is over 30, Caitlyn and Vi are in their early 20s and Jinx is just barely passing 18
Most of these things are confirmed by one of the writers on Twitter, however the information also tracks with the Council Archives (the Council Archives are hidden content released within League of Legends during the weeks that Arcane was airing. It contains bonus Arcane lore such as parts of Jayce's research journal, Vi's prison files or information from Caitlyn's "conspiracy board" from episode 4)
Iirc Mel is only 2 years older than Jayce. Also she shed a tear after waking up alone so she deffo caught feels.
The writers have said that jinx/silco is a pure father daughter relationship BUT it IS made to be unsettling
Why do people feel the need to tell people what to think after 4-5 episodes? The scenes are designed the way the are for a reason and play out the way they do by design. Let them watch ALL the episodes BEFORE discussing the relationships.

Im pretry sure everyone who first saw it had the same unsettling feeling with their relationship atleast it was the same for me but obviously it changed after act 3.

Ages, per the writers:
Vi and Caitlyn are around 14-15 in act 1 and around 20-22 in Act 2.
Powder was 10-11 in Act 1 and 16-18 in act 2.
Ekko is around year younger than Vi (called little man cause he a shorty for his age).

love ur reactions! a lot of people forever reason forget that Vi (v-eye) is short for Violet and so a lot of people called her (vee) which is not correct. and sometimes the father daughter relationship between jinx and silco looks "creepy" to some but what you have to remember is powder never got the stable, growing up and maturing life. so mentally she is still that 7/8 year old little girl that longs for a father figure and love, so that's why when she crawls up into silcos lap she's like being a little girl wanting to snuggle with her dad. and that's also why she hugs him soo much and talks in a baby voice sometimes and she does all these bad things to please him cause she just wants to make her "father" proud of his "daughter"

the music performer guy in piltover had the day of his life, he went heart out in his performance and at the end being greeted with literally all members of the council enthusiastically cheering with smiles on their faces(because Jayce).
According to Amanda Overton (one of the writers) Caitlyn and Vi are the same age in the first act which is between 14-16 while Powder is 11-12. The time jump is around 6-7 years

Silco was pissed because Jinx just brought attentions to herself, making her a wanted criminal (before these their operations were low-key). So I think if Jinx didn't show the crystal to Silco, he might still try to protect her. (+ from the looks of how he blamed Sevika for the airship accident when we were introduced to Jinx) (edit: also Silco said "your sister is gone. You knew that as well as I do.) I like to think that Silco asked Marcus at one point, about Vi; because maybe raising Powder was hard for him because she can't move on. But Marcus thought Silco asked about Vi because Silco wanted Vi dead, so he just told Silco that Vi is dead and erase those records from the prison.
Great observation on Jayce being quick to change his mind. It's interesting, he seems to be good at everything he does but the flipside is being made to go in different directions in quick succession is causing more damage than benefit. He does an excellent job at trying to root out corruption but when made to realise its necessity he then works to deepen the ties between him and the other council members. That means if he wants to undo that he's going to have to go even further in the other direction which then means he'll have to do the same in the opposite direction to mend those ties. Jayce has a good heart and a good mind which unfortunately makes him work for both sides since both sides do have genuine reason
It's interesting you mentioned that, because his fighting stile in the game is based on switching between two sets of abilities, melee and ranged

The soundtrack and animations in this show are phenomenal
2 funny little details. The violin performance is a metaphor for the art and science. Heimerdinger was the only councilor looking at the art (representing science) but he was unaware of all the dealing happening behind his back. Jayce was also watching the performance until he gave up on watching that and started playing the political game.
Also Vi says “my sister could do that when she was 7.” This obviously wasn’t true as in the first episode Powder was shown barely able to make a jump at 10 yo. This is one show of how Vi’s view of Powder is over exaggerated. A common theme between the two of them.
You guys could also react to league of legends cinematics or music videos. They’re extremely well made especially the visuals and music. I’m sure league fans would enjoy any league content reactions u guys put out :)

Basically Marcus said to Silco that Vi was dead, that's why Jinx, Silco and all his crew thought she was dead.
The purple/pink liquid is called chimmer, an addictive medicine/drug, but also a part of chemisty based technology, just like the Gemstones(the little blue spheres who are with Jinx/Powder now) advanced piltover's technology, its how undercity's technology advanced, the firelights use it too, but without the Chimmer.
After the small slip of tongue when you tried to "get head " with the reaction, I had to pause for 2 minutes to laugh my ass off.

According to some information that riot released, Vi was one of the scariest people in stillwater prison, she was always looking for people to fight and hurt, and I'm pretty sure she mortally wounded and even killed some inmates, she definitely had some unhealthy coping mechanisms for sure

Jayce definitely has some years on Caitlyn, since by the current time period in mainline Runeterra he's approx. 31~34 and Caitlyn is 24~27. Since he was 24 in the first act, if they maintain a ~7 year age difference, that would mean Caitlyn should have been 16-17 at that point. I still think she looked a little younger than that, but maybe I'm just out of touch with what teenage girls are like (that sounds fucking yikes).
I don't think Mel is that much older than Jayce though, the Council seats are more or less for wealthy families that hold position in Piltover. Since you're 4 weeks ahead from this episode, I imagine you've seen Ambessa Medarda and seen the family politics there a bit, she's a wealthy noble that's been more or less installed as a proxy for her family. The wiki lists her age as 25 in act 1 and 30 in act 2-3, so it'd work out considering she's a political tool more or less.

I know that ya'll are already ahead, but Silco knows that Jinx and Vi are sisters. At then end of episode 3 he specifically asked Powder where her sister was, because he didn't see her body with the rest. Marcus took Vi and put her in prison, saying that Silco would kill her if he saw her. And as Sveka and others said already, Silco and Jinx have a father/daughter relationship. It's why he allows her to get away with causing so much destruction that he wouldn't allow anyone else to do. She's special to him, and he sees her as someone that was abandoned by their sibling and left to die also.
Viktor has always been sickly. That's why he had a cane and everything.
This is just my own personal speculation as ive never really seen anyone say this or even mention it but I dont think the crow that Jinx shot was real. The Crow shows up anytime Jinx is challenged with picking between Powder and Jinx. In that moment she chose Powder, shooting the crow which is a representation of Jinx trying to get her to leave Powder alone so she can just enjoy being nostalgic to her childhood.
Writers said that Vi and Caitlyn are roughly the same age, Vi being slightly older by a maybe a year or two, by one of the writer's estimation. They don't specify. So Jayce is around 10 years older than Caitlyn.

So Mel came from Royalty (technically a dictatorship) and grew up super rich. She got onto the council fairly young using her wit and her money. The general consensus is that Jayce and her are only a few years apart, about 2-4 years.

Lol I was trying to watch the cutscenes and read the subtitles but it was just constant Dani legs haha, an intense scene would pop and it would fade out an I was reading the subs an it would go to her knees, lol funny ass editing, wish we didnt have dmca rules so we could watch it all, I might need to patreon....... I hate jumpcuts but its unavoidable in dmca scenes...
Jinxes relationship with Silco really isn't that weird. I remember constantly crawling on my mom and cuddling her,giving kisses, I miss it really badly to be honest I love my momma. Jinx never got to experience that and has extreme abandonment issues so with Silco she finally gets to actually be a kid and be close to someone who genuinely loves her and believes in her.
Mel is around the same age as Jayce, period. Jayce is like 29-30 and so is she. She was just a young councilor, and when you know her origins later in the series, that makes sense considering her station.

Everyone always comments about Caitlyn and Jayce being a thing, or having a weird relationship. But they always seemed like big brother and little sister. She followed and admired him as a kid, and now that she’s older she teases him and gives him a hard time.

No confirmation on ages but... It seems Jayce was in his early 20s at the start. He's about 2-4 years older than caitlyn. She was probably around 18/19. Vi was about 16. Jinx and ekko about 10. Mel probably a little older than Jayce. Heimerdinger 300 years old, yordles are immortal according to Riot. Jayce and Caitlyn have more of a sibling bond. Cait's family took in Jayce at a young age as like sponsored/gifted child. So they grew up together. Post time skip is save to say the age range of the main characters are mid 20s to mid 30s. With Jinx being on the younger side around 21. Mel and Viktor on the older side around 35.

Silco thinks Vi is dead because of Marcus. Marcus kidnapped Vi, threw her in prison, and told Silco she was dead to cover his own ass. It's not a spoiler or anything. All this has already been revealed. Just goes to show what a crooked coward Marcus is.
Crows are indeed very intelligent.
Thank God some people find the jinx silco relationship to be suspect af. Most people are like oh wholesome father figure. But like dude is behaving groomy af. He's like the polar opposite of vander who is like nuturing and raises them to be independent. Silco fosters a codependent relationship with Jinx, making her feel like he's the only thing in her world. It's super toxic and not cute.
Jayce and Mel are the same age maybe I year or two apart but that’s it.

The violin scene was to show how every politician aside from Heimerdinger is corrupt, and as the music kept getting intense, you could say Jayce was "being played like a fiddle".

I know right? I had maybe one red flag in episode 7 (And that was mostly due to the level of aggression going on in that scene), but that's it.
The supposed almost kiss scene? For one, I've been baptized and the person holding you NEEDS to lean towards you to support your weight. But also, at the time I watched it, I said "Aw, he's gonna headbutt (softly) her like Vi used to." Seeing as we saw Vi do the same thing twice before, I was assuming the rule of thirds. Third time being with Silco. When it didn't happen I was like "aw ok, no headbutt ☹️".
I saw nothing wrong with her being physically close to him. They've had seven years of living together. That's two or three less years than she had with Vi. And Vi herself was pretty physically affectionate with her. Most of the physical side of Silco and Jinx's relationship is initiated by Jinx herself. Not Silco. And it's more of a kid getting in your personal space and not leaving you alone. (I have also dealt with this.)
I also know trauma during childhood can kind of freeze your brain at that age. Your brain's growth becomes stagnate, and you exhibit more child-like behaviors.
But what do most people assume when they see a young vulnerable girl and an older man they've seen murder and manipulate people physically comfortable with each other? Yup, gotta be something wrong there. 🙄

@@miguel_mendi I think it's just different people's experiences coloring the way they view media. I've seen a lot of reactors reference Harley Quinn in comparison to Jinx. When I hear that, I know some part of them will be comparing Silco and Jinx's dynamic to Harley Quinn and the Joker.
I've been through childhood trauma and I've had issues with neglect. So some elements of Jinx's behavior people find disturbing, I don't blink at. (Jinx talking to people who aren't there. Her having a deep need for comfort and company, while at the same time isolating herself. All the while, having a hatred of being alone. Dark, intrusive thoughts. Delusions.)
So yeah, It sucks, but that's the way the world is. People like or dislike characters and dynamic based on their experiences. It does tend to sour some reactions, but I've gotten better at ignoring it.
In truth Marcus saved her life. Nobody knew where she was for 7 years. She is only alive because she was in jail.
