Great video! Thank you for your time. I bought some of the tools you linked. Just a heads up. The quarter round link now goes to a half round product, I ordered it and got a second set of half round cutters. My bad for not checking. But you may want to change the link to a quarter round set. Thanks again!

Thank you! I love the way you show how easy cutting leather can be. I always had trouble, and it was so ironic, I have just recently purchased the set of half circle cutters.

Thank you! I’ve been using a handleless 1/4 round system that, though it works, is a pita so thank you, ordered these! My half rounds are probably the same as you linked Beautiful!

Thanks for showing your cutting with the larger curve too. I just recently cut my first pattern of yours in leather (after practicing with foam) and made far more mistakes than I would have liked. I think I'll do better even after watching this short clip.

Monika R change your blades *frequently*. Most people make mistakes when they are pulling their knife too hard- a sharp blade fixes that. Use the right tool for the job. Often it’s a utility knife, but I reach for my strap cutter and rotary cutter pretty often.

Hi Tony - I ordered the 1/4 and 1/2 round cutter set from your link above. However, they are both the same! Just different suppliers. Do you have another link for the 1/4 round set? Thank you.

Moin Moin and Hello Tony, I live in Germany unfortunately most of the links are currently, there are no sellers that can deliver this item to your location ..... so I have to see if there is a provider who delivers your recommended tools to Germany. THANKS for your great, easy to understand tips and tricks ;-) #stayhome and stay healthy

Tony, please help me out. What do you have under your leather when you punch or do this kind of hammer work? In effort to save my thin cutting mat, I’ve been grabbing a saddle-thick scrap that I’m marking up pretty fast. How often do you replace what you use. Thank you kindly.

    • @GranticusMaximus

You can look for poly mats on Tandy or Amazon, I went the economic route and use an old cutting board.

I know I'm late but this may help. I buy wooden rounds used for making plaques. the surface is end grain, so perfect for punching. Also very cheap. About 4 bucks. All hobby stores have them.

  • @bagramdave883

To anyone out there: How do you sharpen your/these punches? I have these cheap punches and they DO NOT cut through clean and with 2 or three wacks--like yours do in this video

Do you designs shapes and curves in your templates around these punches you have available?

If you search golden ratio circles on UA-cam for designing things like logos, you'll see how that concept can make it look like the design was made to fit the punches, but as the punches are actually just small segments of a circle, the lines fit.
The golden ratio for circles is fantastic for making cleaner looking logo style designs, I highly recommend it!
