Absolutely impressive how you were able to use the pulley system to pack so much length in such a small form factor. Anyone who thinks your design is too long clearly hasn't looked close enough at the AC 1/2 hidden blade designs, or they're just used to seeing the stubby, undersized hidden blades most people tend to make. Also a big fan of the auto retracting system you designed on these. Very game accurate if you look at Ezios hidden blades when equipped in game. The winding system also makes so much sense! Allows the blades to be stored without all the extra tension when not in use. Definitely one of the best AND most accurate hidden blade designs I've seen overall!
Thanks for the outstanding praise, I love how it's come out so far (still gonna keep refining), now I just have to hope that UA-cam algorithm doesn't do me dirty and actually spreads the video around haha Thanks again. :)
Dude this is amazing, I adore the way you handled the deploying mechanism. I've been dabbling in with the hidden blade design around last year, I came to the same conclusion for the blade tip deployement, reinforcing the rod is a brilliant idea to keep the printed parts thinner. I didn't wanted to add an extra plate to keep the pulleys from falling, to compensate I highly recommend a ball bearing lock like imdeepainreborn's designs and screwing the pulleys directly to the middle blade with recessed shafts to compansate for the screw heads
Hey man, thanks for the praise, I funnily enough fully intend to use the ball locking feature to lock it like imdeepinpains, as that is def the smartest way to do it so far, funnily enough, I just saw a pic of his latest hiddenblade on Facebook and I think he may have gotten a bit of inspiration from me, as he is now using tiny screws to make it all flush along the outside, as well as that it is genuinely double extension and is clock spring driven haha.
Could you make something with that same kind of action but for Wolverine claws that would be mounted to the top of your forearm and deploy over the knuckles?
Thanks dude, Its tedious, but worth it in the long run. For this build I used a couple of ender 3 gen one printers, old but reliable. I also didnt have them super calibrated, that way I knew Id have to do clean up on parts that many other people would also have to do if their machines werent the too tuned up as well haha
Right now there are details already designed in to it to make it locking, but this current version does NOT, as it is really just for cosplay, film, etc. Next update will though
@@KyleofAsgard Imdeepain swears by this design apparently when you keep your wrist cocked back it is locked. You can try my jungle snot recipe I've been using it on everything from plastic to cardstock. Go over your Blade with super glue and graphite from a carpenters pencil hit it with a triangle file and try it out on a water bottle. I'm extremely interested to see an STL file that would be fire right now. I've been digging through The Archives this is because I think that this is an underrated counter Ambush tool, and I've been studying like Libre knife fighting Warrior poet society Tribe 13 Ed Calderon and stuff for a while. The goal with those being stealth and Suprise. If imdeepain says it's good it's good. My last prominent study was on elchechin 01, he had a magnet slip locking mechanism with his hidden blade xiphoid. I'm also trying to find a Conner blade that locks. Good luck to anyone doing that too... I think it will work with modern knives like the Elvia or Libre knife fighting guild. Imdeepain was showcasing this string pull mechanism and was quite fond of it stabbing materials. Apparently it's authentic because in game the blade moves forward instead of stopping like an OTF. Thank you so much for your work on this. I hope to see an update soon. I'll probably be popping into your channel to see an progress sincerely - Romans 13
If I was to print one on a Bambu lab carbon, I could print all the parts in a day. Ender 3, a couple of days. Unless you are meaning design/ print time, then around a year of tinkering on and off :)
I personally love the long version which is the accurate one based on the games but there's a catch, after years trying different methods I realized the longer the blade the weaker it is and easier to break
@@Jermz1979 true, but still if you look at revelations opening cinematic you can see how one of ezios blade break, that's the weak spot, still I prefer the shorter version, easier to craft and harder to break

Freedom units are now a required measurement for all projects.
A happy medium between metric and imperial haha

this is the best hidden blade I've ever seen on youtube and I can't wait to buy theses blades physically!
Guys i swear this guy is the best hidden blade builder in the universe 🎉🎉❤❤
Thanks mate, I personally think "imdeepain reborn" is the best, but Ill happily compete with him haha

That looks so cool
I really like how thorough you are with the build! What printer do you use?

He's back
this is great reminds me of imdeepainreborn design he made a couple of different ones and even came up with a unique design of his own
Thanks, yes indeed, from what I have seen, hes the only other hiddenblade maker who has created one using the clock spring. :)
might just have to get myself a cults3d account to get this :o
Since I don’t have and know how to use 3d printers I have to await a physical version 😅 this will be a quite an upgrade from the altair one I have
I'm waiting on a quote for metal ones at the moment ;)
@@KyleofAsgard for me as cool as metal is it adds weight to the prop so I’m always all for plastic :)
Do you plan on making any newer ones with the same mechanism but with a different physical design? Like Ezio's hidden blade per say?
@NickMcDougle planning on making refinements. Probably some cosmetic changes too just for those kinds of projects.
@@KyleofAsgard Please do! I would love to see what you can do with it next
Very impressive masterpiece, but I wonder if it can pierce cartons or harder items?
Thanks, As it is, no, this version is purely meant for effect/cosplay etc. But the refined version which will be "functional" is in the works
@@KyleofAsgard Okay, I'm looking forward to it.
Would it be possible to design a blade based off of the codex pages from the first game? I've been seeing more designs with the scissor mechanism
I've only seen a few designs with the scissor mechanism, and they are either really average, or really good but require extreme precision to make.
Can you stab anything like a cardboard box or Styrofoam? Is there a locking mechanism at all.
Right now there are details already designed in to it to make it locking, but this current version does NOT, as it is really just for cosplay, film, etc. Next update will though

Hey mate will this scale down ? Say maybe 50-75 percent.
@@hobbytime66 will it scale? Yes. Will it still function? No. Unless you manage to find screws and springs that are 75% smaller.
Where do you get the 3d print plan
cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/modular-assassins-creed-hiddenblade
You say massive, i say accurate. At least to altair and ezio anyways
What can I say, when you're right, you're right 🤣
I've weirdly had a heap of people on insta and tik tok saying "it's too big" haha
How long did that take to print that Hidden Blade?

Wow! Does it lock? For you to stab stuff?
It literally looks like Altair’s hidden blade.
Can i get it

Print in ABS or ASA. Much stronger
