There is no way the average civil war buff could of get all this info in a life time. Yet Tim tells us in 10 minutes about these true life stories. Thank you sir. As always till next time.
Thanks for sharing the 5 NH Monument. Where Colonel? Cross died.! Placement of the 1885 . And the Rock that originally marked the place. Is still there.
Very cool Tim!
💯👍👊
Wow! Great photo of the first monument placed at the site!
I really look forward to these Monument Monday shows.
Always a great job Tim. Hope to get to Gettysburg before too long. Maybe I'll run into ya at the Blue & Gray having a burger. LoL
Monument Monday with Tim is the best.Thank you for the excellent information.
Hancock: "Colonel, you shall earn your star today." Cross: "No General - this shall be my last battle."
That was great Tim!
I know where that advance marker is also, as a New Hampshire resident it is a must visit to understand what the 5th NH did on July 2nd despite like most of the first division of the Second Corps was under sized. RIP SGT Charles Phelps who revenged the mortal wounding of his Colonel only to be shot in the back himself and died two days later.
Flank marker, not an advanced marker.
Great work my friend!
Good history. Great story
That Colonel Cross monument needs to be turned over and put back in its rightful position
Very interesting. THANKS!!
Fantastic content!
Great video again Tim! Thank you. Thank you to ACHS as well!
You're working late tonight Mr. Tim, great content as always....Larry/Arizona
Look forward to each Monday’s video …Thanks, Tim
Been to that left flank marker and every flank marker at Gettysburg, because I am THE flank marker guy.😁
Thanks for doing this. I knew the story of Col. Cross and have visited the monument several times. I didn't know about the other ones you showed, nor did I know about the boulder from which the fatal shot was fired.
Thank you for covering this Tim. You do take requests... much information I didn't know.
More great history of one of the more unique monuments on the battlefield. Of course, next time I visit Gettysburg, I will have to check out the big rock where the Confederate solders fired on Col. Cross and I will not rest until I find that left flank marker for the 5th New Hampshire. Thanks, Tim. These keep getting better and better.
well written.
Thank you.
Wow, great research as usual; the landscape has changed quite a bit since those days. I hope they can maybe restore the landscape to how it was during the battle. It would be hard since you have to rely on pictures shortly after the battle.
It was nice meeting you at the historical society. very beautiful museum. I enjoy your content
That was some fancy painting on the rock from which the Arkansas solider shot and killed Col. Cross.
I know it is lost to history, but it would have been interesting to know the name of the solider from Arkansas.
Hit the gym, Tim, so you can beef up and flip that rock over. 😁 I'd hate to have to do it for you next time i am in town 😅
