D2R S5 EP9 Greenville SC part 2 rev2

It’s a big HI from Steve to start off the second part of their visit to SC! Both Steve and Carol tell of their plans for the day… go see waterfalls!!
Next scene, we are at the beginning of the trail to Cedar Falls. Steve has a hard time figuring out the map at the park so it’s just off to the trail to see if they can find the falls! They finally do find the falls but when they get back to the car, they decide that it’s too hot to be on any long hikes. So the next fall they are going to is supposed to be right by the road. It’s called Looking Glass Falls.
A music video takes you through the backroads and some lovely countryside. A quick stop along the river is followed by Carol telling how they met a lady there who knew about Looking Glass Falls. She said, it’s in NC and it’s beautiful! NC??? Steve and Carol had no idea it was in another state! But, it’s not a problem for them. Only another 45 minute drive. BUT, when they get there they discovered that it’s super crowded!!! Since it’s only 15 minutes from the city of Brevard, North Carolina and it’s a holiday weekend everyone and their brother came to see the falls too!! Steve and Carol do walk to the falls and join the hundreds already there! 🙄😟 But it is beautiful!!
The Pishah Bakehouse is our next stop! Yum!! Fantastic pizza and a delicious blueberry/lemon tart for dessert. 😛😍
Next morning, Steve and Carol meet you in the kitchen of their Airbnb in Fountain Inn SC. Here they share their plans for the day. Their plans are to find a place to see panoramic views of the mountain ranges in the area.
So then they are at the visitor center where they hope to get some good info. They do get info on a spot to go to but they were also told about an easy hike to some falls called Twin Falls. It was suggested that they visit them because they were on the way to the panoramic views.
The hike is easy and not crowded! Yay!! And what a pretty hike it is too! Lots of green foliage, unusually colored mushrooms growing on the trees and a sweet little stream flowing next to the trail. There is a nice observation deck near the falls and boy, are the falls ever so pretty!! Steve even walks down near the bottom of the falls doing his imitation of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings! 😂 Wooden staff and all! 😂
The day continues with that stop to see the panoramic views of North and South Carolina!! They are at Sassafras Mountain. As Steve starts up the climb to the scenic overlook, he does another imitation. This time, of the Wizard of Oz. 😂 Man! He is full of it today! 😂 🎶 We’re off to see the wizard…🎶 At the overlook we find that Steve and Carol can be in 2 states at the same time! North AND South Carolina!! They play a little back and forth between the states! Just like kids! 🙄😂 And boy, the views of the mountain ranges are so pretty!! But the trip ends with both Steve and Carol in the car soaked to the bone!! The rain caught them off guard! But they are happy anyway! What a great day!
The episode ends with Steve and Carol advertising the sale of their T-shirts. And then Carol shares a dream she had and a heartfelt prayer for the people of CA who were victims of the terrible fires.
