This has probably been my favorite solo game this year. It seems to have gone under the radar for many, but it’s such a great little game with a ton of value. Thank you for covering this one! I can’t wait for the other two releases to play the new characters and bosses.
Woah, this game looks really cool! I hadn’t heard about this at all, just the bigger Kinfire game. It’s giving me a One Deck Dungeon vibe but with less dice and more tactical card play. I’m going to have to seek this one out for sure, thanks!
The timing on the card text is weird.. after this action should be after playing a skill card as an action.. an action isnt an entire turn or challenge based on the rule book, its just playing a skill card.. but that doesn't work with a lot of cards.. so should it be after this challenge instead of after this action? If so then that doesn't seem different from "before or after discard" can anyone clear this up for me? There are a lot of implications and confusion bason how you play it. Would like to figure this out before playing.. much love, thank you
A player’s turn consists of either resolving an Event card in play or attempting a challenge card in play. When attempting a challenge, you have the option of playing a card from your hand as an action (and resolving the text on the card). If the text on the card says that you can do something after performing an action, this is when you can do that. You can then optionally play up to two more cards for their boost abilities (at the bottom of the card) and add these values to your main action. All of these steps are optional as the only thing you’re required to do on your turn when attempting a challenge is rolling the 4 dice. I hope this helps with explaining the “before” and “after an action” parts of the text!
@@scottcoggins941 thank you, this is how I was playing the game at first.. but certain cards felt a bit strange doing the card text right after play.. there is a dagger card that says you can add the card back to your hand after this action.. but that's seems odd as you have to add the progress after the event without the card there.. also one stop co op usually takes after this action to mean after this challenge.. Soo it's all a bit weird lol
Checked in with the publisher and this is what they said: “Before this action” and “before/when attempting a” effects resolve after playing a skill card but before boosting, and “after this action” effects resolve after completing or failing the challenge. Hopefully that’s helpful!

Same!! It needs more love for sure!
Hi Scott, I posted a timing question.. hoping you can help.. much thanks
I love this game! Just wanted to point out when you delve downwards you discard them facedown. (See back page of rule book)
Thanks!! Totally missed that in this play!
Thank you for all your solo playthroughs. Very clear explanations and helpfull.

Glad you enjoyed!! It’s a really great game!
Great playthrough!
Is their official site the only place to buy this?
You should be able to get it in stores - in the US anyway.
@@boardgamegeek I just didn't see it on the two sites I normally buy from. I do see it other places now though. Thanks.
Has anyone played Kinfire Chronicles solo? If so, how does it play solo?

@@FostertheMeeple thanks, yes this helped a lot.. i am most grateful. Much love
Are all Canadians this odd? Excellent video otherwise!
Lol, I don’t know about all of us, but I sure am 😂
Wouldn't want it any other way!
"Quirky" is a better term here, and less liable to being interpreted as a rude observation.
I personally love it. Let's do the cat stuff!
@@durah1559 you are correct... Since I made this post I've become a fan!
