  • Foundation & Earth Audiobook - Ch. 1-7 - By Isaac Asimov Read by Larry McKeever -
Foundation and Earth is the last of the Asimov's Foundation series, but it does not concern itself with The Foundations's struggle to the Second Galactic Empire. Golan Trevize, made a supreme decision influencing the Final Destiny of the Galaxy based on his unexplained intuitive power of making the RIGHT decision based on insufficient data. For some reason, he believes that finding the long, lost planet of Humanity's Origin, namely Earth, will justify his supremely important decision. This book describes his voyage into deep space and the ultimate future of the human race.

The book is really interesting so far but jeez, the character of Bliss is so annoying!

Rules, established with reason and justice, easily outlive their usefulness as circumstances change. Yet can remain enforced through inertia.
It is then not only right, but useful, to break those rules as a way of advertising the fact they have become useless, even actually harmful. 2:54:10

I worry about Galaxia. Wouldn't humanity inevitably stagnate and devolve in a physical and social environment free of conflict or hardship? Mentalics or not, it seems like a bad idea. Trevize addresses this briefly but Bliss just brushes it off.

I'm still listening to this book. Interesting thought you have. Ill play devils advicate and highlight that nearly all significant knowledge leaps of history have come from the upper-class who had the luxury of devoting themselves to the pursuit. Those with hardships are more focused on their current and personal existence.
