That's by far the best project I seen with a CNC...
Woodworking is all about correcting your mistakes so only you notice them. Nice work.
Very true! Thanks for watching!
Your woodworking skills are remarkable! Dad & I treasure this gift ♥️ looking forward playing game and double skunking you again ❤
Absolutely Beautiful!
This board was awesomeness!
Customers don't see those tiny errors. Keep grinding brother
This is so beautiful and shows off your skills. Great job!!!
Wow, wow. Amazing work. Well done.
Very unique and quality job.
Damn! You are quite an artist and craftsman.
Thanks!
Nice work!! Thanks for sharing your journey.
Just beautiful.
Magnificent.
Beautiful
What an awesome piece of work!
Holy shit the amount of details in here that I don't think anyone can truly appreciate unless they've done any type of woodworking is insane. What a beautiful piece.
Thanks!
This is bar none one of the coolest things I've sent made on a channel, and good on you for such an awesome gift for your parents
As a parent and someone probably your parent's age, I'm sure that they will love it. Not only because it's a beautiful piece, but because you made it. - Chris
Thanks!
That’s frigging awesome. Really nice job
Beautiful work well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Outstanding! Your parents should be proud. Great work.
Absolutely beautiful amazing work and beautiful gift
Outstanding workmanship 😃😃
Beautiful board, beautiful box! I love the idea of the perpetual calendar to symbolize a specific day for a gift. Great video! You did a wonderful job editing and narrating too
Thanks! I think I’m improving my editing skills.
Amazing!
What an awesome piece of art! Your parents must be extremely proud to have a son with such a great depth of appreciation for them.
New to your channel, I loved the walk thru and the, ohh the patience you have! My wife watched this build, something she doesn't do to often, but she was glued to it. Anyways love the build and great work. Andrew
Andrew, thank you for the kind words and thank you for watching! I have some future builds in the pipeline so stay tuned!!!
That is sick!! Great job!
Thank you! Cheers!
Impressed with the multitude of skills involved. Beautiful marquetry not many can pull that off. Your ability to correct minor mistakes as you go is why it is called the "art of woodworking.
Holy Heck! that is fantastic! As a new CNC woodworker I hope one day to create something half as cool and nice as this WELL DONE!
Everyday you make chips, they better you get! Keep at it, you should see my burn box with all the disasters I've made lol
Beautiful!!
Thank you! 😊
Absolutely amazing. Beautiful work you do. Amazing detail and the splines look terrific.
Thank you! Cheers!

Thank you very much!
Absolutely stunning work of art, style, and craftsmanship. A more perfect anniversary gift has never been gifted.
Thank you for sharing the build process. It was a pleasure to watch. Keep up the good work, my friend.
Thanks!
This video earned my subscription!!! Love my drum sander and couldnt agree more. CNC and Laser are on my wishlist with a Oneida Supercell. Great work and it's obvious you've done alot of cool stuff to have the knowledge and ability to make that!!! Well done from another woodworker!
Thanks Richard!
Looks great. I do a lot of epoxy inlays for domed lid boxes. The first time I did this I used hot glue as a dam and it worked but since, I have started v-carving the inlay pockets before profiling the lid. Doing it this way, the wood becomes the dam for the epoxy. Steve
Beautiful work. I haven't played cribbage in years, but have always enjoyed it. Great project and happy to be a new subscriber.
Awesome! Thank you!
Truly an heirloom piece. I’m sure your parents will treasure it. I’m more than impressed with your talents: from design to execution to finishing. I definitely learned one thing from your video: don’t skimp on the glue 😊. Cheers
Thank you very much! Yeah, the amount of glue I used was a lot!
LOL, we have 3 Frenchies and I know what you mean about the snores and grunts!! Excellent Video and well done sir. I'd cry if my toolpath did that (when it took out most of your walnut), but you pushed on and persevered, so really well done.
You and me both!
Fusion 360 is really intimidating for a majority of the cnc community. Doing some more in depth tutorials would be a huge help to a lot of us!!
Clinton, great idea as I am one that continues to search the depths of UA-cam for CNC geared how to videos for Fusion360. I'm currently game planning multiple different video series on this and hoping to post the files and other projects on my website. Definitely more to follow on this! Thank you for commenting on this subject, this is something I keep going back and forth on. Cheers!
Garapa e roxinho madeira do Brasil
Awesome video! I just did an epoxy pour on a snare drum, so I had the same issue needing a dam to hold back the epoxy. I ended up using spray foam, but I was ready to use hot glue. Looks like I dodged a bullet...
Yeah…it was definitely not the preferred method
Nice build. Question: Why did you sand thru the painter's tape verses remove it first?
Ray, I guess there’s only one way to put this…I was lazy as I didn’t want to put the time to remove it by had, removing tape by hand is not fun 🤓
@@EricksonWoodworking lol -- OK!
What laser machine do you have? Also, how do you offset for laser kerf? I have a glowforge, and want to get into marquetry. I have heard that 2/1000 of an inch is sufficient for kerf offset (not sure if I got that right.
Glenn, I have an XTool Desktop Laser, my version is currently discontinued, but they have an upgraded P2 machine that’s is way upgraded. I get to use one here very soon and will do an in-depth review/test with it.
For the Kerf, I hate to use this terminology as it doesn’t help. It “Depends”….. it depends on a couple of factors:
1. Material type and thickness
2. Power and Speed of the laser settings ( dependent on the 1. Material)
3. Offset distance that’s dependent on 1. Material and 2. Power/Speed
The easiest way to find this, is to do simple test cuts of the material you are using for your marquetry.
My veneer is 1/64th thick, and my power and speed is set to 40% and 200 mm/s. The best offset for my machine to account for the kerf is .001” on the inside and outside materials I’m inlaying.
Taking some time to cut test fits (3-4 with different offsets) is the best way to understand what your machine will do. Every machine is different :)
Extraordinario trabajo para el objeto más inútil que puede existir.😕
Beautiful work - but what about the pegs? 🙂
lol yeah! I should of shown them, been itching to play a game on the new board!
It's an awesome looking project. That being said, you use an obscene amount of glue. I actually got two separate anxiety attacks while watching this video. But it's an amazing looking piece.
😂 what was the first anxiety attack? I ended up redoing my toolpaths to leave extra material to provide deep enough pocket for the epoxy fill. A lot easier and less wasteful of expensive epoxy.
@EricksonWoodworking just watching all that squeeze out on your various glue ups. It sounds like a joke, and in a way it was meant to be funny, but it really did trigger some PTSD for me lol
Didn't you make pegs?
Richard, unfortunately no, I didn’t do any lathe work to make the pegs, but I ended up ordering 1/8” pegs online. There is some really cool different pegs you can get online for cribbage boards. Maybe later on I’ll make some custom pegs with the lathe. Challenge accepted 🤓
You better be selling those for $400....Edit. Just Looked. Your price is perfect if not too low.
Thanks! Working with expensive tools and materials really do effect the overall price.
