    1) You forget to put the washer back under the ring nut requiring special DT Swiss tool HXTXXX00N5027S.
    2) Do NOT use dense grease for the ratchet (probably Motorex 2000 in the video). DT Swiss Special Grease is required (TP-42 + 5%mineral oil), which is even thinner than Sram Butter..

    There are 28 comments, but nobody mentions that the process you are doing is completely faulty. Once you hit the inner race of the bearing with a hammer, it's scrap. The removal process is spot on, the install process is spot on, but you don't re-grease the bearings after you take them out. You throw them in the trash and put in new ones. You could re-grease the bearings without taking them out, if you really want to do that. (If you have put in some sort of special grease in brand new bearings, I guess that's ok, except for removing it with a blade.)

      @quintusblack9112 3 роки тому

      The remark is correct, but beside this the entire process was well done. The sharp cutter blade may also cut the rubber sealing, so a better approach is to use a sharp conic tool or a flat and very-very thin screwdriver.

      One can use the bearings that were pull out by using the press but not the one pulled with the hammer removal tool

      Good luck with re-greasing bearing on the drive side (under the ratchet) :D

      Would you really discard Ceramicspeed bearings at $200 each?? I certainly wouldn't go anywhere near them with a hammer.

    • @thelampire
      @thelampire Рік тому +2

      Bearings are wear and tear parts, after a while you need to discard them no matter hpw much they cost. Ceramicspeed is a scam anyway, it's only better than the steel high quality bearings in the first 100km. It's quite good for bragging how much money one wasted on something lile a bearing, though.

    When I see this much fine work I just want to grease it all up and put it back together and ride!
    It is not that bad and I live in a very dry climate. So now I will try to get it back together with just new bearings.
    Cost me $18.00. Oh Well.......
