  • Typing out fake patient notes in Excel and Notepad using a mechanical keyboard with no talking.
Mostly slower typing, but please let me know if you'd like me to make another video with a different speed, or one paired with whispering or gum chewing. I don't have camera equipment just yet, so typing screen captures are what I can do at the moment, but I'm hoping that I can help at least one person fall asleep or experience that calming asmr feeling. :)
    ~ What is A.S.M.R.? ~
ASMR stands for Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response and is a calming sensation triggered in the brain when someone hears certain sounds that are usually paired with some type of visual (like watching someone else perform a task). Everyone who experiences asmr has different triggers, and what works for one person might not work for another. Finding your trigger can be a little difficult at first if you have never experienced this sensation before, but the asmr community has grown exponentially on UA-cam and there are now videos out there with just about any asmr trigger you could think of. Some common ones are whispering, tapping on different surfaces, role plays, paper sounds, writing or drawing, and other mouth sounds such as saying certain words or chewing food or gum. When these sounds are heard, usually paired with a visual, it stimulates something in the brain that causes the person watching to feel very relaxed and can sometimes cause a "tingling" feeling on the scalp. This has helped a lot of people who have insomnia to fall asleep, people who have anxiety to feel calm, and even some with depression to feel better. Asmr is still not fully understood, and there are more studies being done to determine why it happens, but overall it is a positive and wonderful thing for the many people it has helped.

For any asmrtists who would like to know what screen capture and sound equipment I used in this video:
-Screen capture recorded and edited by iSpring Free Cam
-Sounds recorded with Blue Snowball Ice Omnidirectional USB Mic
