Those are some tall and beautiful trees; I’m glad you found a safe place to camp for the night. Too bad that bivy didn’t keep you dry, but in glad you had your hammock for plan B. Dinner sure looked tasty. Thanks for bringing us along. Blessings, David
Nice one fella. Doesn't look like the most comfortable of camps, the rain can be pretty miserable. Here in Scotland we specialise in a shortage of dry wood! You did well to tough it out though. Never tried soda farls with lorne sausage before - my preference is for having them (farls) with cheese and plenty of freshly ground black pepper. Have to give that a go though, it looked good. The bivi looked good at first, shame it wasn't up to scratch. I've found the British Army Goretex bivi to be great. I've bought a couple (one for my lad), and they really do the job - the things are massive, I reckon you could turn them over and loop them to make a kind of hooped job too. Got mine for less than £40 from surplus stores. Thanks for sharing, keep them coming. :😊
@@StuartOutdoors thanks pal, I'll take a look at them. Kinda fancy some space and might get a naturehike tent or something real soon. Time to upgrade for the winter months I think haha. Appreciate the comments.. might be moving to Scotland in the next few months so fingers crossed 🤞
Thank you I appreciate that. Haha yeah I wanted to use that twig stove and I must be stubborn because it was the difficult option after all that rain 😅
@@haggishunteroutdoors cheers pal, it was a worldwind of a night. Funny enough I'm not long back, had to bail from hammock camping in a lightening storm. When will I ever learn haha
@@haggishunteroutdoors I filmed it aye, debating on whether or not to turn it into a video. Could be a warning to others if nothing else! Hours of lightening so had to get down off the hills just in case. Flash flooding all around here in south Wales too, diversions on the drive back. Proper shit show if I do say so myself lol
Nice one, worth a try for 12 quid. Shame it wasn’t so good, ok for fair weather I guess or with a bigger tarp. Hard to get into that type of bivi, my mate called mine a crisp packet.
@@cowalexplorer haha yeah I'm not a small man at all, and a side sleeper, so really not my cup of tea. I think I'd like a lightweight 2 man or a spacious one man tent for more regular use! I'll send it back to temu for some other camping stuff, house will be coming down with stuff haha
@@SundazeSolaceOutdoor Thanks pal, it did seem to dry out during the night when I swapped to the hammock, seems to be like a single skin tent, where moisture sits on the inside and not a huge problem if you don't lean against it, but with it being so small you're touching it with the sleeping bag and the sleeping bag soaked up the moisture. It was a bit of fun sure, I think I'll stick to normal tents and hammock!
@@craigjoinsonoutdoors haha don't know if condensation mostly but definitely leaked. Only a single skin. Had dried out by morning funnily enough.. no room for your bag though.. I was looking at the highlander blackthorn myself, or phoxx 1?? Otherwise would suggest paying a lot more for a decent one lad
@@TyroneOutdoors I think everyone feels the same mate but you do well pal 👍🏻👍🏻, heard about this is that where it’s like relaxing chilling music behind the video instead of talking

Tenting in the rain can be a bit tricky. I prefer to be elevated in a hammock with a rainfly.
That Lorne sausage with scones looked really delicious after all that rain, thank you for the lovely video!
@@HimmelOutdoors it really was! Straight into a buttery frying pan, even better than a toaster!
Great vid and nice spot. Well done for putting up with the rain ! 🤣
@@Tominthetent thanks lad, stupid place to test a £12 bivvy. I think a normal tent and good sleep is required next time haha

That was a tough test for lil Temu bivvy ahah. Good thing you had a backup! "Different stages of wet" should be Scotland's slogan 😆
@@oliverkillian yeah definitely should be! Thanks for the support, I appreciate it!
Firing up the twig stove with gas brilliant. That's something I'd do. Really enjoyed watching this.
