watching this from denmark trying to figure out if my favourite knot even has a name! ....
Here's a nice one ifyou're kinda tall and use a wide tie.
Start with the thin end at your left breast roughly. Cross the thick end over the thin end to the left. The thick end goes behind and through from the back at once, hanging frontside first on the small knot. Then the thick end goes all the way behind the knot and hangs to the right with the backside out. The thick end goes through the loop from the front. Depending on which way you go now you can get a symmetric knot or a skew one! Take the thick end to either side and go around the front of the knot to create that finishing pocket, behind and through the pocket to finish. Almost always ends up symmetric with a dimple for me, and is mostly self-releasing as well!
++ uses less tie than a windsor i find somehow
++ symmetric
++ dimple
-- short end can be difficult to get to the little hook on the back of the tie....

Hey there, less updates on the channel, are you still doing well? I know your punch-line is "summer time all the time" but would you consider delivering a video about how to tie a scarf for men? I know I could find it else where, but would like to see how you would wear it or what styles you recommend.
Hope all is going well with the business and life in general! Love from Finlnad.
Greetings from Northern Michigan, USA. I'm learning this because I find woven ties with patterns I like, but all too often they are too long for a four-in-hand; it's the curse of being altitude challenged I suppose. While I could use the self-releasing half-Windsor variant, that tends to be too bulky with these, and a full Windsor is cheesy no matter the tie. (There! I said it. Cheesy!)

I can’t. My British skin doesn’t like the sun 😂
when I was in senior school 1973 to 78 , we had to wear blazer and tie, (as well as the rest of the uniform). 'cool' kids wore a version of 4 in hand with really loose knot, 4 inch blade (max) and very long tail . I HATED that look and stuck to how my granddad taught me. i was forever being picked on by teachers and so kids because I "couldnt even tie a tie correctly", meaning a 4 in hand. for years Ithought my grandad taught me wrong, and as i felt a 4 in hand made a terrible knot, especially in thin ties of the 80s, and fvll winsor knots were too fat in wide thick ties of 90s and 00s, from 1978 to last year or so I NEVER wore a collar and tie unless absolutely forced to. recently started wearing bow ties an cravats as well as half windsors. then i saw this and realised what granddad taught me and school bullied me for was actually a prince Albert and not a mistake. kudos granddad and shame on teachers. I love the Prince Albert because it gives thin ties extra body and doesnt make thick ties feel too bulky . a true jack of all trades amongst tie knots. Thanks from me and granddad.
Great story! We always like a man that perseveres with style despite what others think. That’s true style. Thanks!
