I love that not only do you collect all these beautiful rare woodwinds, but you play them all too. As it should be. Thanks for keeping these instruments alive and not behind glass.
It would be really great to hear something played just on sarrusophones, especially the higher ones (soprano, alto, tenor).
I’ve never seen the whole sarrusophone family in a composition !! Amazing composition
It would be great if you could do a video showcasing the sarrusophone family, there’s not a lot of good videos or audio of the higher members of the family.
your sound makes me happy
thankyou
Amazing bari sound, it doesn’t have the buzz that I normally hear.
Congratulations Doug and Ladd on an outstanding achievement.
I love that big ribbon mic. Doug is a beautiful player.
Outstanding intonation!!!!!!!! Not to mention mastery of all those domains!!!
Wow! Great job Ladd and Doug. Soooo good!
Outstanding with some rare instruments being played , well done.
Great performance and composition! Using a vintage RCA ribbon microphone to capture the nuances of all the woodwinds was a good choice.
I’d love to rummage through your toy box! Haha!
For me, the Conn-O-Sax is the most distinctive of all of these! As Paul Cohen described it, “the most original, most beautiful, and ill-fated saxophone.” It should never have died with that gorgeous a sound! Thanks for bringing it back!
I love the baritone saxophone solo.
A remarkable achievement!
Luscious
Bravo !!
you really impressed me with the Eppelsheim sarrusophone
and then you pulled out the full-size contrabass saxophone, and the low flutes. You have my dream collection of woodwinds
My dear lord! There has got to be at least a quarter million dollars worth of musical instruments in this video.
I know that a contrabassoon can cost anywhere from $30,000-$42,000 alone for a new one.
Some of these instruments I have no idea what their prices might be, but I know they are very rare and were only produced for a couple of years, like the Conn-O-Sax.
You are extremely talented!
This is a masterpiece of wind music, I cant believe the variety of instruments in this piece! Where ever did you find so many Sarrusophones, and not to mention different types of Sarrusophone when they are so rare!?
Mostly eBay I have an extra bass bari ten and alto for sale
@@dougwebbmusic2300Oh really? Where are they listed for sale- I would love to have a look!
Absolutely impressive and beautiful
I'm totally overwhelmed!
I saw the rca mics,I owned a pair once.buddy this is just an amazing mix.love 7 times
Another spectacular display of your command of woodwind family +!
Look at those sarrusophonesss
Incredible Doug!
This is fantastic! Cheers to many views in the future!
This left mee speechless. Damm..............
So lush and meaty. Love it.
Holy smokes!
The greatest woodwind player ever including rare instruments.
Absolutely astounding, Doug! Thanks for putting this together and sharing.
Bravo! So excellent! Thank you.
Most amazing. Really great work everybody on the project.
WOW! So many things!
An amazing composition and pitch perfect nuanced performance, so say nothing of the orchestration and arrangement--with so many elements this could have been a terrible mish-mosh, but no; everything belonged and sounded great.
Then there's the recording, that sweet, sweet vintage ribbon keeping all that metallic high end from getting out of hand.
The mix: spot on! In theory as complex as the arrangement--though the arrangement being so good may have done a lot of the mixing itself--everything audible and layered and in a nice wide, but not too wide, stereo field.
Only now do I get to perhaps the most incredible part of this video, the collection, nay! the finely curated museum of winds. Doug must have an entire room choc-a-block with cases, and not a small one. perhaps with a workshop, a reed cutting factory. There are instruments here I've never even heard of, a metal double reed? A saxoon perhaps? (the "Sarrusophones apparently) And wait... is that a krumhorn??? (yes, 4 I read now).
Liked, subscribed! Dear casual comment reader why have you not?
This truly is a masterpiece of musicianship. I commend you highly for your beautiful playing of so many instruments (and so many rare or uncommon ones at that.)
thank you
I absolutely love this video, God knows how many times I've watched it
Thanks
Mind blowing!!!!!
Fantastic! Complete gear goals right there in one video!
Awesome!!! More videos please!
Spectacular!
Wow!! Nice composition! Also very nice video-editting level!! Well done! :-)
I would love to see videos on all the instruments you play in this incredible collection! this is amazing!

This is fantastic!
Doug, that is absolutely amazing! Beautiful, expressive playing on every instrument. You are such an artist--thanks for bringing this to life. And Ladd's composition is exquisite!
This is absolutely amazing! What a fine collection!
Really fun video!! You sound great on all of the horns!!
AMAZING!
Awesome!!!!!!’n
sweet
Beyond Awesome!!!
How did he master so many instruments? I'm still trying to play Hot Cross Buns on a recorder.
Insane! You sounded great on every instrument on this tune. Your sound is beautiful sound and you have excellent intonation on anything. I also enjoyed the composition.
so great!
👍
👍 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏good
Wow. Currently playing a contrabass clarient for my local college band and every time I hear the Eppelsheim I want one so bad. I just feel metal contras sound great. I think the brightness of them just helps them come through more.
woodwind final boss
Amazing! Would great to add Eb clarinet and contra-alto clarinets to the collection next! 😛
You can be confident he already owns them.
Simply stunning & gorgeous! I HAVE to ask how you were able to come across ALL of those instruments!
One at a time
See Doug Webb interview on the upcoming Sounds Within production in March. Available on UA-cam: Sounds Within l v smith
Imagine what he spends on reeds…
:-) next time to add a Tarogato ? :-)
Hey Doug, what's your equipment?:)
Wow - you play more horns than Vinny Golia.
No, my Jupiter bass clarinet needs a little work.I played contra on college.I love the clanky paperclip version
Do you own all of those?
Very good! How do you record without headphones in so many of these? Wouldn’t there be feedback into the microphone from your base track?
I was wearing an ear bud
crumhorn?!?! omg!! cant see it in the video tho, anybody have the timestamp for it?
The crumhorns are only playing 8 bars background behind the tenor solo
4:04 - 4:12, I think?
Doug, what kind of nino piece do you use?
Selmer d or c
Sir Doug, are that horn a brass bassoon?
No a Sarrusophone
How did you actually get those sarrusophones?
They’re not that rare I actually have an extra bass.baritone alto and tenor for sale
Btw love this music
