  • I FINALLY got into Strava this year and to simplify data collection I picked up a Garmin Edge 530! This way I don't have to fuss with my phone every ride and have it on and transmitting the whole time.
    I absolutely LOVE the Garmin, it exceeded my expectation on how easy it was to setup and use. And the battery life is OUTSTANDING, even with the display ON the whole time! I can easily go several rides (~2 hours each) without having to charge it. Awesome little device!

    The tether must go around the handlebar so the unit don’t fly and get lost in case of a crash.

    What type of bike repair stand is that you have?

      It is a Performance "Spin Doctor Deluxe" stand. Great simple stand, I've had it for over 20 years!

    What about the sensor on the bike for speed output ?

    • @M.E.Cyclist
      @M.E.Cyclist  2 роки тому +2

      The speed sensor will make it slightly more accurate, especially with starting and stopping. Without one it relies on the GPS signal from the head unit so there is a little delay when you first start moving and when coming to a stop before it registers you have stopped. I have been using it 1+ years without an additional "speed sensor" and haven't had any issues. Didn't want the extra parts, batteries, pairing, weight. Seems to be working fine without...

    Nice looking unit. Had to 1 up me! 😀 I use the tether for mountain biking 🚵‍♂️. I thought the same thing, when I first saw the computer...that is is smaller than I thought. Sad to see that road bike now.

      The thing I really like is the WiFi, which is what convinced me to get it. Yeah I still have a couple more videos to produce with the old bike. Wish I could go back pre-crash :(
