Look OK guys! I have been using an Ecottemp L5 for 15 years now at my cabin without a problem. I would recommend a good filter system for any rain water or exposed water collection as there are some nasty stuff that can grow in untreated water and make you sick. Those OD water heaters can also be vented outside with a bathroom exhaust fan or make a simple hood and vent through a wall.

We use tablets to keep the water clean - I have rainwater coming in to a barrel on the deck, then we drain down to another barrel for our showers, so that's working out right now. I agree that we need to make sure to get a better filter system - the pump is for clear water only, so we'll need to be careful.

Good video, I would presume the pump is the major use of power consumption, but you are better of with a quality larger pump such as yours for reliability and longevity.

The pump is the only source of power consumption - I'm not complaining though, it's working out for us!
