Facts it dropped in like, November 2019. His release strategy seems to have been to drip feed it into digital formats since then.
@@MG-gn6ni honestly loved that release method. I bought the CD even though the only way was to listen in my car, so even with the means to I've been just slowly enjoying each of the 'singles' as they dropped.

It’s a matter of willingness. I’m from Belarus and I’ve never been to UK but not too long after I found a couple of great grime songs and started listening to this genre more and more that I was understanding at least 80% of the slang

In his Yuno Review for July 2015 he does talk about Integrity> and i think it’s safe to say Anthony didn’t like it all that much, which is a shame because the album slaps. I was kinda hoping he’d talk about how his views on JME might’ve changed.

there's also his very unique way of releasing this record, staying away from putting it out digitally for a while and going vinyl-only, as well as sending out each copy personally to his fans. he also did something with MP3-players where the album was on a mix of a radio show he made himself, all things that are very much JME's style

Love this album. Been a fan of his since his last album as I hadn’t been exposed to the genre until Man Don’t Care released and blew up. I’ve done plenty of listening since then. Great stuff. Great review as well as always.

With all due respect I do think some of the more nuanced bars are sometimes lost on those who don't quite fully understand the culture. However Melon has clearly done his research and over the years has given the scene the respect it has earned.
Grime is comprised of a melting pot of local dialects, contemporary references and tongue in cheek humour. It's definitely not the easiest to interpret but that's partially why the artists are fiercely proud of their works. In a lot of ways grime is distinctly "ours" and I think it's awesome that Melon has taken the time to get to know.
Still some work to do but hey, nobody's perfect. This guy did give Fear Innoculum a 4/10 after all.

I've never listened to a lot of rap and hip-hop music but Knock Your Block Off has to be one of the best songs I've ever heard. Can't wait to listen to this album to see if there's more like it

This is my fav JME album by far. I'm American as well, so I'm not even going to pretend I understand all of grime and UK culture, but I love grime and JME embodies everything great about it. We get 18 tracks bc God knows when JME will release another tune

I'm a Grime writer, Anthony is right the entire essence of Grime is blunt and in your face, that's how UK inner city culture is ha ha. Also alot of the lingo is Jamaican slang fused with brit Street slang, this is because grime MC's parents emigrated from Jamaican to the UK and we grew up listening to our parents reggae LP's as kids. LOVED an American view on this album. Thank you 😁😁

Great review. Spot on. Although you gotta love a bit of President T. Gunshot Sound is a total banger, and his feature on Wiley's Joe Bloggs is too good. Not his greatest bars on that one, sure, but JME had to have him on. He's an OG. It's a sign of respect, and friendship, so made me happy to hear. :-)

Please listen to GANG by Headie One. It’s a short tape but definitely one of the best projects to come out of the UK rap scene for a long time imo. Great introspective lyrics from a traditionally drill artist with fantastic experimental production alongside some amazing features such as Sampha. Would highly recommend.
As a fan of old school grime this review was a pleasant suprise
