appreciate all the positive comments here. Some of yall though need a hug LOL Either way... I want to make an announcement: We will be having someone from our patreon make recap notes for us, highlighting the most important facts we should know from each episode. And we will be reading these heading into each episode. I think this should help us out a ton. This is a long anime and a lot of info. I think even if we didnt start doing this, we would enjoy this anime a ton. But hopefully this will just help us enjoy it even more!
JUST REMEMBER THOUGH: We are watching this show for entertainment. Its for pleasure. That is the point of anime and manga and shows in general. Its for amusement. I'm nowhere near as far as you both have gotten in your OP reaction journey, but I've equally loved how your fondness for the Live Action has led you along this journey similar to mine!
I definitely have no business clicking on a video this far along, but out of curiosity, the comments, as well as this pinned one, caught my eye.
I'm not sure I have the full context, but it looks like a storm I'll have to weather sooner or later as well.
I wholeheartedly agree that your journey should continue exactly the way it started out of a love for where the story will take you, what the story has meant to you, and how the story first came to you.
I've always personally related One Piece as a solo journey for me, one that I just happen to share my experience with others AFTER the fact. I DO notice that that little detail can be lost on folks in the comments even in my own reactions. It sometimes escapes their notice that no matter how new a video is, they are always watching someone grow and learn in retrospect.
I have thoroughly enjoyed watching your other reactions when they pop up in my feed and seeing how far along you are in your own OP journey!
I just wanted to give you my full support to continue on this journey as you always have and disregard the critics. I'm sure when the lore hounds come for me in my comments they will meet my biting sarcasm as I satirize the living hell out of them in some skit before a reaction to let them know how I feel about them. Haha.

Lmao. The fans are a bit of a handful and are rude about providing the information. But there are in fact many details which need close attention.
Alright to clarify because you guys forgot. Ace is after Blackbeard’s head because Blackbeard committed the unforgivable sin of killing a crewmate. Whitebeard’s crew has sub-commanders or division commanders. Ace is the second division commander and Blackbeard was part of the second division so Ace feels responsible for dealing with the situation. Mihawk is most definitely a warlord, idk how you got confused there. At no point did they say Mihawk wasn’t a warlord. He’s there with the other marines specifically because warlords were requested to meet up there. Thats why they’re not arresting him.
I mean I can definitely see why they got confused. Doflamingo goes "oh, an unexpected guest" why would he say that when the warlords were specifically invited there? Then sengoku goes "don't tell me you're..." again implying he's there for some other reason other than just being called to a warlord meeting. and then mihawk goes "I'm just spectating" again why would he say that when he was called there for a meeting to give his input? Maybe it's just the translation but the dialogue is definitely weird and a little confusing here if you're still piecing things together.

Initial confusion can be a side effect, especially if you don't read the provided pamphlet carefully.
But later doses will go down much easier, and even become the highlight of your day.
episode 151 is a crazy episode. world government reveal , warlords, whitebeard reveal, blackbeard reveal, shanks screen time
To recap Ace is part of Whitebeards crew, Blackbeard was under Ace's division before killing a crewmate and leaving. Now Ace is hunting down Blackbeard. Also Mihawk is a Warlord they were just surprised because he doesn't usually show up when called for, so they were wondering why he was interested in the topic at hand.

To be fair, Mihawk exists in the Warlords so the title of a Shichibukai definitely doesn’t represent strength level. He is in his own right at the level of a *cough* you know what.

Agree, not just one piece they kinda forgot a lot of things in other shows too. Kinda hurts to watch sometimes. I miss the quality of their reactions when they just starting the channel.
If you don't remember. Ace tattoo in his back is the flag of Whitebeard. He also told Luffy that he was looking for Blackbeard cuz Blackbeard killed one of their crew mates.
Ace is White Beard's 2nd division commander which doesn't make him 2nd strongest it just means he's trusted to lead one of WB divisions. Blackbeard aka Marshall D Teach was a member of the 2nd division so he was Ace's underling and he killed a crew member and jumped ship so Ace was looking to eliminate him as that was his duty as a division commander.
bounties are not a measure of one's strength but of how much threat he poses to the goverment, you can be weaker than someone with 40 million berries but have a higher bounty if you did vile acts like murdering innocents and stuff
Bounties aren’t really a measure of power level, they’re more of a measure to how much of a threat they are to the World Government. It just so happens that the highest bounties = stronger individuals thus more of a threat to the Govt.

A very powerful pirate will be a very large threat to the Government. But a weak civilian with all the deepest darkest secrets of the World Government might be an even LARGER threat. Thus although attaining massive strength can get you a high bounty, the bounty doesnt ONLY base its number off strength or experience or battles. Perhaps a popular pirate who is a bit more lethal and deadly when dealing with opponents and civilians might get a higher bounty than others even though his strength is on par with everyone else.
They're roughly correlated to power level. It's not a perfectly monotonic relationship, but higher bounties usually mean stronger pirate
@@lordmarkquad4470 Thats not what he said. Being powerful means you are dangerous, the more dangerous you are the higher your bounty will go. So being stronger WILL make your bounty bigger. But so will knowing government secrets or being involved in things the government doesnt like. Its not the only factor. Sometimes reputation is enough to get you a huge bounty without you needing to be strong at all.

This world is big, we need to take notes.
Guys, I think you guys should either reduce the number of anime you are watching because its tough to retain the information and it is very clear that you guys are not able to properly recall important details of the show or you can start taking notes on key things in the anime, which will make things easier for you and you will be bale to look at the notes in case you doubt or think you are missing some information.
It’s normal to be confused about the characters at this point in the story. Don’t worry, everything will be more clear as you watch
If you guys cant remember then pls write it in your notebook 📒 it will help you to remember things properly like write Warlord as heading then below write Mihawk and Crocodile and other warlord we will see later in the series then write Whitebeard below him Write, 1st 2nd 3rd etc division commander and write Ace in second place this will help you a lot in the series later on and before watching a episode and recording your reaction pls read that notebook properly so that you can connect the dots properly and understand the story more accurately and one last thing try to remember most of the characters name bcz they will play a significant role in the story later on.
Ever since the East Blue we learn about the Grand Line being a pirate graveyard, we already saw some of the natural disasters occurring almost daily - and Blackbeard sails those seas on a friggin' raft. 😂

something i learnt recently too but "hige" like in shuro hige or kuro hige directly translates to facial hair in english. So in localized translation kuro hige or shiro hige becomes black beard or white beard respectively but in japanese it refers to their white and black facial hair
A bounty does not ever represent an individual’s strength. It’s literally just how much the government wants your ass.
The more you annoy them, the higher your bounty, that’s all. It can come in the form of being the strongest therefore a threat to them, being a troublemaker or even being a serial killer.
Like if Luffy met Bellamy before he met Crocodile, he would’ve still had his 30m bounty and would’ve still one shot Bellamy regardless. The 100m bounty is just more intimidating and a sign of prestige for pirates.

One of these powers are the seven warlords". And then Yosaku mentioned Mihawke being one of them, and Jimbe, an old Arlong tritan pal being other.

I think this is an excellent way to look at it. Having a bounty is a mark of how much the Navy wants to bring you in. It almost always would mean that you have a modicum of power (that you are dangerous), but the Navy may put more stress onto other factors.

Start from ep.151, you need to pay attention when the story line jump to World Government & Marine, because something BIG is going to happen…
Just to clear something up about bounties. they do NOT represent strength but rather the threat that one person poses to the world government. for example, Gol D Roger has the highest bounty of any pirate dead or alive because he successfully reached the final island in the grand line. *btw this next part isnt really spoilers, its literally just current bounties which isnt really that important but this is just here to let you guys know*
This also holds true with Mihawk and Shanks, the current bounty on Shanks is 4,048,900,000 or 4.048 billion. and Mihawks current bounty is 3,590,000,000 or 3.59 billion. So even though it is mostly believed that Mihawk is equal or stonger than shanks, the only reason shanks has a higher bounty than mihawk is because shanks has a crew and mihawk is just one man. so the world government takes shanks as a bigger threat than mihawk even though shanks isnt necessarily stronger.
Guys, i'd strongly recomend You to take notes. Ace mentioned he's the commander of the second division of the whitebeard pirates and he's after blackbeard because he committed the worst crime in a pirate sheep, kill a nakama, and because blackbeard was his subordinate he has that responsability. Also, this recomendation is because, in One Piece there are tons of little details on the conversations of the characters, speeches or Even some frames of the places or texts and subtext that is going to be hard of remember completely without help. Just focus on names and motivations about what they're currently doing mainly, don't need to overcharge with everything.

11:25 bounties are kind of like power levels but they’re more flexible since it’s based on notoriety and like you said not all strong pirates are notorious but for the most part the most notorious pirates do have high bounties if they’re active.

I can't. :( I was caught up in the manga before here, I think.
Some of the Pirate's treat their Bounty like a bragging right that's why they are so proud and about of it (except for ussop/nami bcos it threatens their lives)
Also bounties doesn't just represent how strong they are it's also how much of a threat they are on the government/"higher ups" in any means; physical / knowledge / connections / family line/ etc (it'll be explained more in the next major arc(s)!)

I hate to be that guy this time, but Alabasta and meeting Ace wasn't even that long ago! How could you guys already forget that Blackbeard is the man that Ace was hunting down because Blackbeard killed his own crewmate and Ace was his commander.
And just as a quick recap, Ace was the 2nd Division commander of Whitebeard's fleet and Blackbeard used to work under Ace.

The subtle signs, like, you're mentioning, like 2 of the old men, the Gorosei, one who looks like Sanji, and one who looks like Zoro's sensei - that's kind good sign. No spoilers, but real life Blackbeard (Edward Teach) was like the most infamous pirate before, like, Captain Jack Sparrow. So the introduction of the Whitebeard pirates and the Blackbeard pirates, with the soft relaunch of the warlords - is kinda big.
Keep with One Piece. It'll be one of the best things ever. And it'll be worth it .

I started watching OP 3 months ago, I am enjoying it a loooooot but I am watching One Pace. Its a shorter version where all the chapters/escenes that are not important are removed. I dont know if you checked this option but it maybe helps you! I love your reaction videos!!

Regarding the warlord's bounties. Its not directly explained in the show so its not a spoiler. They did have bounties when they were pirates. When they became warlords their bounties were frozen as they are basically employees of the world government
guys, information like this doesn’t come up again for a very, very long time and then it’s or better. You are supposed to know the details before. I’ve read some comments already explaining it so I won’t explain it again, but yeah, I need to pay attention to these pieces of lore in ONe Piece
