History likes to rewrite Teen Titans as this serious and joyless show for mature audiences. That's how the TTG writers portray it at least. But that show was also really funny and could get really silly and over-the-top when they wanted to. The Mumbo and Mad Mod episodes prove this. It had the right balance between action, comedy, and drama with characters that you really care about.

As someone who is finally giving Ninjago a proper viewing (because I only watched the first two seasons when I was younger), I can safely say that it is probably one of the best action cartoons in Cartoon Network history, or at least top 3 best action cartoons. Here is why: 1. It has one of the best soundtracks on Cartoon Network/ 2. It has some very compelling and interesting story arcs 3. The villains and their motives are very well written 4. The amount of lore exceeds anything that any other Cartoon Network action show has had 5. It doesn't try to appeal for kids, and things such as deaths and dark topics are frequent. As of the time I'm writing this, I'm only on season 9 and there are like 13 seasons, so the fact that I'm ALREADY calling it the best CN action show despite the fact that I'm not even caught up to it is a testament to how good it is. It is basically Avatar the Last Airbender except with Lego's and starts off more chilidsh. The only thing I haven't liked about it so far is the first season due to how child friendly it was and the animation was kinda off at times. But season 2 and above of Ninjago is definitely some of the best content Cartoon Network has ever aired.
The only Cartoon Network shows I remember to this day is the original Ben 10, Alien Force, Omniverse, Courage, Teen Titans and Kids Next Door. A lot of people seem to think Omniverse was a reboot and give it flak but fail to realize its just a weird animation change, it had me in the first half but I quickly got used to it. Scooby-Doo: Mystery Incorporated is in my opinion the most GOATED adaptation of the Mystery Gang, and it gets dark asf. Tons of character development from both the main cast and the supporting characters as well, a very unique continuing story, and an atmosphere that both new and old fans can get in to.

Thanks! I've been trying to remember the show juniper Lee for the past decade. I could never recall what it was called as a kid and wanted to rewatch and see if it was as good as I remember
Omniverse is a solid show that really fleshed out the lore of Ben 10. I don’t think it is as good as the series before it, but it does not belong in the same place as the Reboot
Gumball is basically a kids version of South Park. With how satirical and adult-oriented a lot of the humor is. They're clearly plugged into stuff that's happening in the real world and love to make fun of it.
I don't think being Lego holds it back, that's just the art style. Art style alone doesn't make a series good or bad, writing does. And Ninjago's writing is phenomenal which makes it a fantastic show.
Yeah and Genndy Tartakovsky was pissed about it. Which is why he and Craig McCraken both left CN because it proved that the company only cared about money instead of delivering quality content from then on.
Adventure Time was the most impactful show as it carried CN on it's back during it's low period and inspired the best of the current generation of shows. The heavily sorry driven and dark nature was amazing. The whole flame princess phase and Finn's love journey resonated with me a lot.
I've heard lots of people level the complaint against Ninjago's Lego style, but personally I never had a problem with it. It's like watching a chibi version of an anime, like Rock Lee's Ninja Pals was for Naruto. Sure you could see it as super childish and silly, but you could also see it as a stylistic choice and follow along with the plot despite it. And the animation in the show is continually improving, the latest season in particular had some of the best-looking water I've ever seen. I'd even put it toe to toe with anime. I guess my main point is: before you let the style influence you, try actually watching the show and it may just surprise you.
I feel like the main downfall was that it restricted what the writers could make of the story, considering how family friendly the lego brand is, and wouldn’t want a dark show tied to their product. Combined with how much lego cares about toy sales, the reason why a character was never completely killed off was because of lego’s greed
@@KolchaksGhost Well they killed off Harumi, Morro, and Chen, so even if they're villains that's three people right there. Plus I'd argue that even with the Lego format, they still had plenty of very dark storylines. S10 is basically just demons taking over Ninjago, and the latest one has a member of the team get removed in a really heartbreaking manner. And don't even get me started on Skybound.
@@KolchaksGhost I might have believed that at on point, but there is a particular season where the show creators said "You know what? Forget this, let's go as dark as we possibly can, no one's gonna stop us!" And in that season (season 8) the had a girl seek revenge on the main characters because she blames the main characters for the death of her parents (we see them die in a flashback). So she orchestrates a terrorist attack that kills her adoptive parents to gain the sympathy of the ninja, seduces their leader and tricks him into helping her resurrect an evil figure from the main character's past in a demonic ritual. All this was done to physically and emotionally devastate said main character and in the end, she dies in the exact same way her parents did because she could not control the evil she unleashed. It was exceedingly dark and mature not just for a Lego show but for any animated kids show. I still can't believe they went that far but I love that they did! This character single handily dragged Ninjago into a new level of intensity!
With regards to Ninjago, you just gotta overlook the style it presents itself in. I know it's about yellow Lego people, but Ninjago is so amazing in spite of that. I kid you not when I say they pull off emotional and mature moments that most other cartoons can only dream of. The 3D animation is cutting edge, the action is great and above all, the characters and stories are phenomenal. Look, you just have to go in with an open mind and look past the fact that it's about Lego people. If you give it an honest shot, you'll eventually become invested and forget that you are watching a Lego show because the show takes itself seriously. I know a lot of people who don't give anime or other quality animated content a chance because they say "It's a cartoon, it's for kids" and it's really narrow-minded because you they'd like the show if they only gave it a chance. It's the same with Ninjago, you just have to give it an honest change and accept that the show can be good even though the character are Lego. I kid you not when I say some seasons are on par with shows like Clone Wars and Avatar, it really is that good and takes risks no other animated show has the guts to pull off.
Adventure Time is GOD tier. I consider it to be CN's answer to Avatar due to how it perfectly combines comedy, adventure, and drama with lovable characters, an awesome setting, and incredible lore. It holds a special place in my heart forever.
Adventure Time is on par with Avatar. It has brilliant writing and handles dark concepts very subtly and maturely. Easily a top 5 western cartoon of all time. I don’t understand anyone who says it fell off. It literally got better every season until it peaked at season 8 and couldn’t get any better. I think it’s probably my personal favorite western cartoon as well. That show was the reason I started actually watching tv for the plot lol
@Haku Yuki I feel like Regular Show suffers from it's long run time just like Adventure Time. The show is known for being pretty irregular despite its title but after a while, the irony behind its title begins to lose that when we've gone through all this crazy stuff over and over and it really does begin to feel like a Regular Show.
My man did justice on Static Shock, Samurai Jack and Ed Edd n Eddy. I don't know anyone alive or dead who enjoyed " Talking Orange". I couldn't say "bro" for a while after that annoying episode.
Just so you know Wes, "Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi Show" is an animated series, where those two Asian ladies voice the main characters. The show is completely animated, but at the beginning of each episode those two actresses say the name of each episode for 3 to 5-seconds. It's a really great show, and I think other people like it too.
Honestly... Adventure Time deserves Goated status. Straight up some of the best world building in western animation in general IMO. A fun af cast of characters, plenty of moments that tug at your heartstrings. A really good long going storyline, etc etc. The show is that good. Also Over the Garden Wall definitely deserves Goated status too.
Nah, AT did have great moments but let's be real so many episodes were just straight filler. The final season was meh and literally sidelined both main characters for PBs family drama. The show really should have ended when Finn defeated the lich or met his mom.
@@BiigiieCheeese I do not agree with that whatsoever. I really enjoy the filler stuff and I think the final season was VERY good. But I do respect your opinion tho.
Damn Wes, you did Ben 10: Omniverse dirty. It’s an underrated show with amazing moments and continues the story from Ultimate Alien. The art style is the same as Teen Titans and Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated.
That show introduced me to the character of Kilowag but I don't really remember much from it. Was it really that good? Cause I am considering checking it out again.
Ben 10 was great and it was huge in India. It was one of the most popular cartoon in India. I think almost every kid I know around my age has watched it.
There's just so much to talk about in terms of that show. The whole "it's a cartoon that's supposed to be a reality competition show" dynamic made it so unique.
@@JustKeepBreathing01 Yeah Roth wasn't even in the same ballpark as the first 3 but it was okay if you ignore that Chris is a sociopath the whole time (and it gets worse), All Stars is so bad that it deserves its own video along with whatever the fuck PI was trying to do, and I still haven't seen RR but I know that Owen, Geoff, and Noah make a comeback on that season.
I’m glad this brother understands Teen Titans Go. people really despise the show mostly from the fact of its parent show. the songs they make in that show are heat.
I'm not the biggest fan of TTG for the same reason but I love the TV Knight episodes and 40%,40%,20% is the best episode they have made. But that was even ruined by an hour tv special so I just pretend that it doesn't exist.
I disagree. When it first came out, I didn't like it at all. I only watched the first 30-40 episodes and thought it was stupid and not funny. And I wasn't biased against it because I didn't even watch the original Teen Titans when I was growing up because I was too young. I watched OG Teen Titans for the first time last year and it's one of my favorite shows of all time now. TTG is still trash. Both as a spinoff and as its own thing.
I never watched Teen Titans OG as a kid, so when Go came out I had no bias. And I thought it was decently funny at first, then I started to hate it because it was the only fucking thing ever playing on CN lol
@@philly_sports1558 I don't believe that you only watched TT last year. The reason I think that is because anyone without those rose tinted glasses would likely not say that TT is one of their favorite shows. It doesn't hold up to great. The animation can be pretty stiff sometimes. Season 3 felt completely half assed. Especially by the fact Cyborg beat BrotherBlood with the power of friendship or something like that. BrotherBlood was also an inferior replacement for Slade and didn't really feel all that threatening anyways. Season 1 while having a great story with Slade only felt like a side story when most of the season you get the goofy things. Season 2 while having more great Slade(and Terra) stuff, the Titans just forget Terra exists for a handful of episodes until she's important for the story again. I honestly don't remember much from Season 4 except for the obvious such as Raven, Slade and Trigon. but they don't even really fight Trigon. They just have a mirror match and I can't even remember exactly how they beat him. Season 5 was pretty cluttered but you could tell the overarching story was there for the majority of the episodes at least. Now don't get me wrong, I love the show. I myself have biases for it but I find it hard to believe any new viewer would say this is their favorite show when there are better ones. This is a great show but it's not as Goated as most remember.
I forget what that block on CN was but it was like Toonami but had Static Shock, Code Lyoko, and a few other ones but when I saw that guy in the underwater base, I knew it was gonna be a good 2 hours.
I just recently rediscovered that at the start of the pandemic, it was called Mizugi, it was like a kids version of Toonami, and it was a girl in an underwater base, the nostalgia blast from finding that again was crazy lol
I grew up watching Regular Show, even if it wasn’t really meant for kids (like you said). It’s still my fav show after all these years and is one of the best CN shows of all time imo. Goated 💯 Luckily the same creator made a new show that is basically Regualar Show but a lil more edgy, still hilarious
Does anyone know why in the original Ben 10 movie, they showed 3 different versions of the same scene. There's one where Ben transform into Heatblast. The second one is this alien with the eyes covering its entire body. The I didn't know that also existed was XLR8. It's the same scene of Ben getting hit by a generator that damages his omnitrix but using 3 different kinds of aliens.
Enjoyed seeing your placements and the commentary! I think Teen Titans deserves the spot you gave it. A truly great blend of action, comedic moments, and story/character development.
I get what you mean with TTGO! and when it hits it DEFINITELY hits but I just have one question ... why did it had to be Teen Titans? This could have been a different type of show that wasn't related with TT and I _guarantee_ there would be less hate for it.
Megas XLR was another under-appreciated show that got cancelled too early. Hot alien chicks, giant robots, action/comedy. Easily A tier material right there. Also can't believe you never seen the OG Batman series. Honestly I would put it above Teen Titans it was legendary. That show won so many awards it redefined what a cartoon could be. A masterpiece in it's own right.
Great job on the list bro! But you should really show off the full list once complete like you have on other tier list vids. Also you need to watch BTAS but I’m sure enough people have told you that lol
I remember watching Ben 10 Alien force for the first time and got absolutely mesmerised. It was such a robust feeling mostly because it felt like Ben was growing with me, I watched him as a kid when I was a kid, and watched him as a teenager when I was a teenager. The plot was solid, the characters were amazing, and it is probably one of the best if not THE BEST follow up series ever.
I remember some of the shows when they aired on other networks like Fox and Kids WB such as Static Shock, Johnny Test, Mucha Lucha, Xiaolin Showdown, Batman Beyond Batman Animated Series, Superman the Animated Series(aka the show that inspired Superman 64 which had potential but turned out to be a dumpster fire. So thank you Warner Bros for causing the game to be crappy and for canceling the PSX game)

The Puffy AmiYumi show was mostly animated with only like a couple things that was live action. And they sung both the English and Japanese versions of the original Teen Titans them song. :3
I KNEW you were going to give TT it's own tier, I would've done the same exact thing. And I agree with every single S tier. But Batman The Animated series set the premise to what cartoons could be as well as comics, and it introduced new concepts to characters. Harley Quinn was created for the show and the Mr Freeze we get nowadays was because of the show's flawless execution with him. In my opinion it should be in A tier and dare I say next to TT. A must watch
You’re right about teen Titans go, when I started judging it for it’s own merit it’s not that bad. There’s also quite a bit of Easter eggs for comic readers
Wes, you need to watch Transformers prime. It is one of the best cartoons I have ever watched. The story is serious and not episodic and the action really picks up and the story telling is great and the hype moments are great.
Teen Titans needs a monument or a statue to represent just how huge of an impact kids in the 2000s felt about it. God, Raven's ark where everyone is essentially dead and its just her, her dad, Slade, and Robin. Shit was dark as a hell. Was insane. Or the one time the future titans help out the past titans from the end of the world happening. Insane.

Foster’s Home For Imaginary Friends 9. The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy 10. Ben 10 HMs - Megas XLR, Cramp Twins, Fat Dog Mendoza, Cow And Chicken, Johnny Bravo etc..

Steven Universe had potential to be one of the best Cartoon Network shows of all time, but it fell off hard after season 1-2
I always thought Season 1 was the worst season considering it was 52 episodes long and only a handful of episodes really mattered.
@@munkee_man Yeah. Season 1 was mostly filler.
For what I saw and heard its main problem is it was made by and for the sjw crowd
I'd put Foster's in B tier but it's criminal that you've never seen the two OG DC animated shows lol
Fosters was goated
@Haku Yuki finally ppl that understand nigga said teen titans go was better than it🤦🏽♂️
Adventure Time was the most impactful show as it carried CN on it's back during it's low period and inspired the best of the current generation of shows. The heavily sorry driven and dark nature was amazing. The whole flame princess phase and Finn's love journey resonated with me a lot.
Finally someone who appreciates Code Lyoko that show deserves a tier above Goated
Forget this, let's go as dark as we possibly can, no one's gonna stop us!"
And in that season (season 8) the had a girl seek revenge on the main characters because she blames the main characters for the death of her parents (we see them die in a flashback).
@@tarabletv "well they killed off Harumi"

Even though it wasn’t originally aired on Cartoon Network The GOAT will be, always be, Forever be TOM AND JERRY

Teen Titans Go introduced me to The Night Begins to Shine so I'm forever grateful.
Night begins to shine should’ve been the reboot instead of go so I agree it’s pretty good.
Adventure Time is GOD tier. I consider it to be CN's answer to Avatar due to how it perfectly combines comedy, adventure, and drama with lovable characters, an awesome setting, and incredible lore. It holds a special place in my heart forever.
I see you on sports talk with brodes all the time now you're here that's awesome.

Just here to reaffirm that I live in a world where Ed, Edd & Eddy is GOATed.
Probably common knowledge but they also sang the theme song for the OG Teen Titans
yea it really is a great show. and they have the whole show up on their youtube channel for free
THE STATIC SHOCK REPRESENTATION IS APPRECIATED

Wes u broke my heart with that fosters take 💔 LOL
Tbf he based it off the art style he probably couldn't even get into the show lol

@@munkee_man I did watch Teen Titans for the first time last year and I absolutely loved it.

2 are alt options but I think one was meant to happen
