  • MV Agusta have just unveiled their latest limited edition machine in the Brutale line, the Brutale 1000 Nürburgring and it’s a stunning, drool-worthy machine, that’s likely to have an eye watering price tag to match, with the Brutale 1000 RR in comparison starting at almost $59k here in Australia.
There’ll only be 150 of the Nürburgring Brutales made worldwide, ensuring a bit of exclusivity, while adding some special touches to the base Brutale 1000 RR to make it stand out further.
MV Agusta are calling this the most extreme Brutale ever too, in honour of it’s namesake, which can probably be fairly called the most extreme track ever. In keeping with this theme the Nürburgring includes a special race kit which boosts the already impressive performance up a notch.
The most eye catching feature is of course that set of carbon-fibre rims, which run CNC’d hubs, particularly well shown off at the rear with the single-sided swingarm. It’s a pretty regular 17 inch setup too, just running a beefy 6 inch rear with 200 by 55 tyre. Those wheels are MV Agusta branded in the pictures too and clad in Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP rubber.
Other features mentioned as new by MV Agusta include the forged footpegs which should offer better grip, as well as a carbon-fibre front spoiler as well as headlight cover, contributing to the weight savings on this model.
Also new were sintered valve guides and DLC coated tappets as part of the low friction Euro5 powerplant, which also runs titanium con-rods, titanium radial valves and new cam profiles to benefit the torque curve. The exhaust collector has also been optimised to help with that Euro5 tune, although if you’re running the race kit with the full exhaust provided that may not be much of a concern.
Electronics are also updated on the Nürburgring, running the latest MK100 Continental ABS module, a new IMU for cornering functionality, which is used by the ABS, a new 5.5 inch colour TFT dash as well as new EAS 3.0 electronic gear sensor.
Other electronics include the Mobisat tracker, GPS and Bluetooth, MV Ride app compatibility, integrated navigator in the dash, plus launch, front lift and cruise control. Lighting is all LED too. Standard is four torque control ride modes, as well as traction control with eight levels of intervention, including wheelie control, and that also makes use of the IMU.
There’s also eight injectors run for the in-line four, four upper Magneti Marelli and four lower Mikuni units, and years ago testing the 800s, it was very noticeable the advantages in smoothness and throttle control that running dual injectors per cylinder made.
Standard power is 208 ponies with a top speed in excess of 300 km per hour, and chucking on that race kit boosts that to 215 horsepower, with the full titanium Arrow system saving weight and also matched a special race ECU with tune to match. Torque is quoted as 116.5 newton metres at 11000 rpm either way. Standard is a bi-directional quickshifter as you’d expect, and the clutch is controlled hydraulically with a Brembo master-cylinder.
Suspension is provided by Ohlins and is an electronically controlled system, with a TTX shock and NIX 43 mm USD fork, with preload manually adjusted, but rebound and compression full adjustable via the EC system. Top shelf stuff.
Brembo provide the brakes, dual Stylema front calipers on 320 mm rotors, and a 220 mm rear rotor with Brembo two-piston caliper, and it’s Brembo master-cylinders at both ends. The ABS system I’ve already mentioned. The chassis is unchanged from other Brutale 1000s, with the CrMo steel tubular trellis frame with aluminium alloy swingarm pivot plates, and an aluminium swingarm.
A full list of the carbon fibre components includes the airbox cover, dash wiring cover, central tank panels on both sides, spoiler and projector cover, clutch and gearbox covers, external air intakes, and in the race kit is a pillion cowl also in carbon fibre.
The paint scheme is an eye catching grey and red, subtle classy and working really well in my opinion. Total weight is 183 kg, but that is a dry figure before anyone gets too excited, with the race kit reducing that down to 177 kg, both of which are impressive. Fuel capacity is 16 litres, with an 845 mm seat height.

Nice one Kris. They say dreams are free, which is about as close as I’ll ever get to a bike like this. 👍😎🇦🇺

Definitely one for the dream list, I can't even see them being any more obtainable in 10 or 20 years.

@@MotoJournoKris A shame realistically speaking as most won’t ever end ridden. For a rich collector that will just mature like fine wine with age and become even more expensive in 10 and 20 years time.

@@marcusgeorge1825 Yep I definitely prefer my bikes to be ridden, but then I can't afford one of these so it's a bit different!

That is one absolutely exotic motorbike, which even makes the Streetfighter look like an everyday commuter. But imagine being caught out in a sudden storm; I’d be having nightmares about road grit for their rest of my life 😉

Tell me about it! Go for an hour ride and you'd probably spend three hours just detailing the bike on a good day.

A lot of the updates across various models in recent years seem to have focused on reliability, but I can't say I've heard too much either way if I'm honest.

I own this bike and it's been quite solid after the first year of ownership. Keep getting SCU errors (Susp. Control Unit), and installed the Arrow exhaust recently--insanely loud, but this bike is a real rocket and scary fast. Lots of complements on it wherever people who ride are found. Rims truly are stunning. Love this thing. Wish this guy would prounounce "Brutale" correctly, but oh well.
