Congratulations Scotty, love watching your adventures and growth as a rider. Always a good attitude and laughter, good to see these days. Enjoy See you out there.
Congratulations! DR650 rocks! I loved mine. I even liked those stock Trailwing 41/42 tires in desert sand and rocks. Must air them down to get good grip. Great on pavement. They won’t last…maybe 3k miles at the rear. I used my DR for everything. So much fun to ride. Your going to end up spending all kinds of $$ on this bike guaranteed. So much aftermarket support! I can’t wait to see it in person!
Oh no, thats sad! Lol Great pick on the DR650 though, congratulations, nice colors too. Hope you have some good times with the DR and will still watch your vids. :)
Im between this and the DR650 myself. End goal is to get good enough at trail riding that I can take the bigger bikes I actually want (VStrom 800 or Africa Twin) The 310GS is closer to those bikes I want to build up to, but I wonder if the DR650 would be better for building experience and knowhow.
I was new rider to street and offroad. The G310 GS was a perfect learning bike. If i already had street riding experience the DR650 would be perfect as it's much better offroad and has less stuff to break.
Thanks for responding! Seems like the DR650 would be a better bet for me then, I have on-road experience so just trying to develop my offroading skills primarily. @ScottyADV Hows your experience with modifications and dealing with carbs on the DR650? That's the most intimidating for me at the moment, though I'm used to doing all my maintenance.
Nice! 14K+ miles on the 310 is very respectable. I'm sure you are appreciating more highway comfort with the DR650 so you can get to more places more quickly to ride.
Hey Scotty, is the bike new or old? At 2:40 you said it was a 2023 but then at 6:41 you said "this bike is over 20 years old, there is no ABS or traction control."
Man, I am happy for you but gotta say am disappointed that you got rid of the gs. I have a gs too and watched your channel because of it. Good luck with your new bike and farewell.

See you out there.
Thank you very much!
I currently own both these bikes. Both have pros and cons like all bikes, but I enjoy both immensely.
Totally agree! Excellent bikes.
You will love it! Most versatile bike,,, pound for pound, dollar for dollar. Congratulations.

Good upgrade.
Epic. You got a Dog Rooter

It's a 2023, but I should of said the model has been around over 20 years with minimal changes.

@Sasqmoto thank you. Haha If I had space for 2 bikes I would of kept it. Looks like you are kitting out your GS quite well.
Congratulations! Get rid of those tires ASAP
