@@luvisrage4k97 because the defender probably focused on all offense and didn’t upgrade interior defense enough and focused mostly on block. He probably has a 70 something interior defense so he can’t properly contest it. Just my opinion, because interior defense is your contest in the same way perimeter defense is a contest on a jump shooter. That’s how you stop post scorers by upgrading interior defense and having a decent post move lock down.

The 7’3 you were playing was backing up instead of constantly going towards you. Also kept cancelling out his analog contests with block animations messing up his contests. I think the post scoring looks fine here just nobody knows how to play defense lol
I think the best thing to do is just make it a smaller green window, because it is a good shot. But it should not go in every single time when it isn’t even green. Making it so you have to green, and making the green window smaller will help a lot.
@@shawnt5205 yes but making the shot should require skill. You can still make the shot but it should be a challenge. Not hold your right stick in a direction and it going in no matter what. When you shoot a three you can’t just hold x down. It requires skill.

Lesson for everybody right here including my boy joe. When contesting post hooks or any back to the basket shot attempt you want to focus more on getting your body up into the shooter while targeting the ball with your contest hand instead of jumping in random spots when out of position . If you look at the windows green windows that are huge he is not making contact with joe.
Trust me guys I been doing this for years on next gen I’ve a defensive tutorial video planned on releasing once everybody is maxed out. I’m telling you guys there is a counter to everything but sometimes as the defender it takes more to counter the offense badge layout is also a key factor with stoping a certain play style.
Before we say patch this patch that... I want to know what the defender's ratings were, because if they're mid tier then this should absolutely be happening. But yeah, that mistimed green should NOT be going in at all, that I agree with. Stopping the bar on green doesn't mean it is a green. Mike Wang even said it, "it might look like you're stopping the bar in the green window but the window shrinks a frame later and you miss" I think this is just the case of the bar shrinking after release.

I hope 2K continues to get closer to simulation basketball so we can stop looking for these ways to "break" the game. It's not difficult to understand in real life that a skiled big man would score in the post on a small defensively unskilled guard every time. post hooks probably get grouped in with layups (like they do with pro touch) so when they buffed the layup timing, post hooks probably also got a buff.
Yall need interior defense to counter that plus better postioning. But even then some people got 96 close shot just like 2k23 and its hard to contest that and know im not making specifically to stop that imo.

You will not be able to guard other players like u. It makes sense and is realistic. Also the kareem skyhook basically is unguardable, altho I think it should be shorter range, harder to time, and takeover should have to be on to make those kinds of shots. Same thing goes with those full court greens in the park. I just think people should stop saying "FIX THIS 2K!!!" when the game just came out. Great defense can beat Great offense, and vice versa. Let it play out for a bit, then we see if its OP to the point to breaking the game and meta. All Im saying, nobody likes a 6'9 meta, I like diversity and sacrifices.

It’s a mixture of opponents not having interior defense upgraded and them not contesting properly. In most of these clips, you’re already a quarter or half way into your hooks. The half meters are egregious I agree, but I don’t think we should be suggesting things a day before the game actually releases. Also if you’re guarding hooks you have to anticipate and make sure your hand is up.
I feel like its so hard to balance this because it can be argued that a ton of those were open but at the same time only having bronze badges and being able to do that is crazy. We all know a nerf is incoming soon so hopefully they dont destroy them like theyve done in past 2ks

That shot you said was not times right and said pause it to check. I did and as you said, you did not time it correctly according to the meter but there’s a lag when playing online and that makes it so it looks like we miss time shots but really it’s just the lag. Atleast in my experience
I say give everyone a week or two to get badges then we can see about if it need tuning but don’t tune it where inside centers are useless because people that play with randoms hate dealing with them non scoring centers that can’t help the team when needed

I feel like its so hard to balance this because it can be argued that a ton of those were open but at the same time only having bronze badges and being able to do that is crazy. We all know a nerf is incoming soon so hopefully they dont destroy them like theyve done in past 2ks

That shot you said was not times right and said pause it to check. I did and as you said, you did not time it correctly according to the meter but there’s a lag when playing online and that makes it so it looks like we miss time shots but really it’s just the lag. Atleast in my experience

U know what annoys me ? I had this type of build last year and they nerfed the shit out of it after season 1 … all my VC gone just because 2 many people are crying and complaining.
