My guess about that different casting cost kill spell is that it's like Terminate. it's only 2 mana but black and something else to make it just as hard to cast.

They're rolling with Kindred instead of Tribal now. Way better than typal, but still: kin is just a slightly different language saying clan which is just another word for tribe.

1: My guess is the Rabbit Mouse is a Chinchilla and they just aren't making a new creature type.

If go way back in magics history they had symbols that represented needing tap a card for an ability, mana symbols ofcoarse . So maybe something like that but mark is mark so who knows definitely no one at wotc or the community 😂
