I road a train through Norway with my grandma for my 20th birthday. Last month was the 1 year anniversary of her passing. I’ll never forget the great times we had❤️
One month ago I was on the Sunset Limited heading to Arizona from Los Angeles Union Station. Departed at 10:00 pm, it was a short ride, less than 5 hours, but it had been years since my last journey. Through the middle of the night it was like we were floating, the ride that smooth for the most part. I was just happy to be on board going somewhere. Night rides in this direction make for quiet moments of calm reflection with the train being half-full. Cozy and comfortable through the cooling desert. If only Amtrak had a car like this where you could dine and wine under the midnight sky.
When i was a young man,a long time ago-travelling by train here in Sweden was a smooth and soothing ride. Sadly nowadays,the ride is pretty hard.Hopping and wiggling on the poorly maintained rails makes it a less comfortable journey... However! This track ,listening from my own cosy bed-gives me great pleasure. Really appreciate this ,makes me think of my journeys to the northern parts of my country.Those were happy days.🤗...
Now, after joining NATO, think about how Russian missiles would not arrive, these thoughts should invigorate you, and remember the story when Peter 1 made a laughing stock of your maritime empire for the rest of the time.
Chilly, rainy day aboard the Orient express! Perfect day for a nice bowl of soup! Beef barley soup sounds perfect! With slices of warm bread and butter....mmmmmm......Perfection!

They used to. The orient express and trans Siberian railroad both used to have luxury cars and super fancy accommodations for long train rides. Last I checked, the trans Siberian was over $4,000 for one, and it's no where NEAR as luxurious as it was way back. A shared sleeper car, without it's own bathroom, is pretty expensive, and it's not a non stop ride, you change trains. And the most luxury cabins with their own baths, don't exist anymore. The FANCIEST cabin I've ever found recently on a train, is super cramped, expensive, and IF you have your own bath, it's pretty sad. Sadly, the kind of charm like this, doesn't exist anymore.

This is wonderful: the ambiance and the sounds (sometimes the rain is too loud or distracting in these sorts of videos). I’ve always wanted to be on a train that looked like this, but idk if they’re a thing of the past/still exist somewhere out there

The video is really well done, there is a lot of whimsy in the decoration details, in the lighting and in the landscapes that appear in the windows! Adding a few stops at a few stations can make the video even better, or maybe at the end of the video to end the trip!

I remember being in a Dining Car on a rainy night, the food was good, I was a little hazy from the wine and with good company... so nice.
