"We canceled this barely-a-band-aid half-measure never intended to address the problem for which it was created, never fully implemented, and still touted by the opposition as horrible authoritarianism" is the American way.
This is kind of where I was over the Supreme Court striking down affirmative action - I'm fine to hear the issues with the policy, if it doesn't do a good enough job of dealing with the root issues, but if you don't have a better policy in mind to replace it, the chances are you never cared about what it was trying to fix. I'm not convinced that there is enough equality in the outcomes from the education system, and maybe fixing that would help to get DEI etc made obsolete, but removing the safety net with nothing to make things better is just wrong
It was a racist program to make blacks look bad. My family hated DEI. What if we hired unqualified white people that could score lower and still get the job? Then businesses wouldn’t want white people, and everyone would hate them… Kamala was going to get rid of DEI too
that interview with the CEO is beyond asinine. guy gets asked whether supplier diversity is still important to them and he spews a total non sequitur about how "Walmart used to be a small business and we remain committed to providing quality products" etc. not even a contextually plausible pivot/deflection, just a complete failure to acknowledge the question. dude needs some media training.

Sadly walmart is one of the few options left. No Ames, JCP, Caldors, no kmart. Very few private grocery store. No more quality butchers. No more family harware stores, no more Radio shack. Amazon and Walmart conered every market while killing every corner market.
I disagree with Hassan I feel like this could lead to more harassment towards trans employees within the company and justify less protections for them 🫤
i believe the constant implementation of these policies is the only problem reasonable people have with trans people in the work place. bigoted people will be that way always, and i think implementing policies like this rubs off the wrong way to more reasonable people who may simply disagree with the policy and not the trans community.
I was thinking that same…that’s why I will seek out other places preferably black owned to buy hair care products. It’s only been 4 years since George Floyd happened and these companies pretended to care about equity and that’s all done with since MAGA is back to in office
Sooo, Harris’ brother was advising her not to talk about price gauging but Trump can talk about putting tariffs in place and big companies haven’t batted an eye? I have a feeling there’s a huge loophole in there

This is a bad take from Hasan given that many marginalized people shop and work at Walmart…I understand they were always a soulless company but I do think things can and will get worse
DEI was a marketing effort that had negative consequences to the corporation because people were being hired that couldn’t do the job, and completely disrespects the fundamental racist issues in the country.
The fact that a story like this can get major airtime and right wing framing on mainstream American Networks shows how far to the right America has fallen.

I swear he almost said "we're ready to adjust our prices" and caught himself.
"Caught himself" they already said they are
Will adjust = Mass layoffs xD
Yep, this is gonna be their excuse. "we're actually getting rid of the DEI program" in reality, they're just gonna do layoffs.

Great Walmart barely has black hair products as is. Guess I’ll have to order my shi online
This is why I don’t go there. Online is the only way for our hair products. &Walgreens if you need Cantù in an emergency lol
Support a local beauty supply shop if you can, or if not, there are quite a few online as well.
