When chasing someone you can get close to but not catch there is a technique in rugby called the 'Tap Tackle'. That last play on the video was a classic tap tackle.
All it takes is a light slap on an ankle cause a runner to trip himself up. He not only prevented a score but by causing the runner's foot to go out of bounds he effectively caused a turnover too.
The "HIM" in that play was not the one with the ball.

Because every player on a Rugby Union & Rugby League field gets to touch the ball & have to be able tackle as well, it makes both of 'em true team sports
