Hey again, bro To answer some of your questions... 1. When you put the ball down behind the line it's the equivalent of a touchdown. It's called a "try". It scores 5 points, just like a touchdown. You also get to convert it, but the conversion scores 2 points rather than 1 in football. 2. A penalty is the same as in football. It's awarded for a rules infringement - like throwing a flag. You just have more choices. You can either kick the ball through the goalposts to score 3 points if you are close enough, or you can kick it out into touch, which gives you the advantage of possession to throw the ball back in to your own team where it crossed the line. Or you can kick it infield, or you can choose a scrum (see point 3). Finally, you can tap the ball up into your hands with your foot and just run with it. It all depends on the score and the situation and the field position and the game plan. 3. That "crazy" formation is called a scrum. It's like a scrimmage, but imagine a 3-layer scrimmage where the offensive line and the defensive line lock arms and shoulders against each other. It's an 8-man formation on each side. Three in the front locking horns with the defensive front 3, with another 2 pushing their heads between the hips of first two, and then another 3 latching on with their shoulders behind those 5. Then the QB rolls the ball in the space on the ground between their feet along the line of scrimmage and these two 8vs8 formations have to push each other without breaking the formation until one team pushes the other team far enough that the ball comes out at the back on their own side. Then the QB can pick it up and make a play. Yes, you are watching the of the two greatest rugby teams in the world. The other one is the New Zealand All Blacks. We have huge mutual respect for each other and are each other's great historical rivals. I say that with no disrespect to other great national teams like France, Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England, Australia etc. We have just been very fortunate to be the only team to win the World Cup 4 times, and we are currently back-to-back champions. New Zealand has won it 3 times. Anyway, so cool to see another American getting into "The Game They Play in Heaven" :) Our Blood is Green 💚🏉💚🏉
"Those South African's got it". Back to back World Cup winners (2019 and 2023), the also won it in 1995 (there's an ok film starring Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon that's about the 95 Springboks, Invictus) and 2007.
4:08 That is called a scrum (When the fattys bind up to push the opposition, it only takes place when the ball is passed/fumbled forward) 4:38 That's not a Penalty it's called a try, it's the action needed to get points, the whole point of the Game is to do that (score a try= 5 points) 7:46 Thats what we call a Penalty Kick (3 points) , we also do field kicks after we score a try to gain a extra 2 points (conversion kick) 10:56 Thats not the world cup trophy, but the Springboks are the world's best national rugby team and are currently back to back world cup champions.
Thank you for checking out The Springboks. Please would you check out Cheslin Kolbe. I left the link in your previous reaction. "I'm HIM Part 3" Thank you so much, really appreciate it. 😁
That last kick👀‼️ I've seen him kick an NFL ball too, kicks it better than a rugby ball. Dan Carter, the greatest fly-half said he couldn't get himself to kick it as it's sharper than a rugby ball.
when you see those guys from either team crouch down, like a HUDDLE, this is called a SCRUM. Its a test of strength the stronger team will be able to push the other team in their direction. If the team that threw the ball in gets to turn the scrum they re win the ball
It is called a scrum, especially when there's a foul play on the ball; most of the time, it is not a physical foul. We, as South Africa, are indeed the best Rugby team in the world, with a record of having 4 world cups. No other country has that record in the world besides us.
I'm not sure, but are conversions in the NFL always taken in line with the posts? I rugby it is taken in line with where the try was scored, i.e. if it was scored in the corner you have to take it from the corner.
