Last week I had a bit of a crash on Westridge and after my redemption run I hit Going Green because I was feeling a little stressed. It was so much fun! I forgot what an awesome beginner trail it was. Fully restored my faith!
Going Green is soooooo good after a really good rain. I feel it's best when you start up from the highest spot and don't stop. Wish it had more optional features throughout the trail.
Indeed. It's a fun full-pull. It wouldn't surprise me if they started to add some more side hits. The couple little optional side lines weren't there when I started.
@@mtb_alan if they added a berm(wood or dirt) that can just shoot you to into it instead of stopping at the crossroads area then that would be a LEGIT line. Some rollers and a table at the bottom next to the apartments would be a good skill builder.
ASMR thing put me right to sleep (props). If this was my local trail I’d be so stoked to hit it. Not as much for a park ride. Interesting content. Stoked on Blue Steel for the warm up. Awesome beginner trail and opens up options for family/skill level. Snow Summit rocks!!! Super relaxing vid man and stoked you shared it.
It's funny...I was watching it back and also got a bit sleepy. 😴 But yeah, Blue Steel had become my warmup trail. It's been a really nice addition, a good smaller step up from Going Green or Turtle...instead of going straight to Party Wave. :)
I always Go Green as my warm up lap, but it's fun for any time of day! If 10-Ply is a John Wick movie, this is more like a documentary about giraffes-calm and relaxing. :) You can take a few of the little alternate cutouts, or go through with a lot of speed to give yourself more of a challenge if needed, but it's always a fun one!
That was the only trail my wife and I did when we visited in July. Such a fun trail. Unfortunately (or probably fortunate since CA is in a drought) it rained the next day so we couldn’t ride. Still super fun.
My very first time I went there was the 9th of this month thanks to your videos. Anyways on going green I didn't do like the tell you to take it easy on your first run, I thought meh it's a green trail! and my tire caught some super loose sand on a turn. And fell right on my left rib. Serious contusions but lucky enough didn't break after two weeks of Serious pain I'm ready to go back!
That's odd. I was there 2 weeks ago and they had just added a bunch of new features to that trail that weren't present in this video. At the location shown at Approx 3:01 there's a train of like 4 deep berms in an S type line before you go up that 2nd climb. Those were awesome! A lot more fun than just 1 big berm followed by shooting up. Where did they go?
Looks like a really good track to learn riding 😊👍👊 Yea, got my new shirt some weeks ago. "Overbiking is not a crime" Just love the fabric, and text 👍😂 I ride a Giant Reign enduro bike 😂 Have A Rad Day Alan 👍😊
Yo Tony! Thanks for supporting the channel. Hope you dig that shirt. Definitely a great trail to learn on. I did so many laps on Going Green when I first started. GO HARD! 🤘🏾
Have you ridden any of the single track trails that shoot off Going Green? We stumbled upon a new one this year, but I don't know how many there really are.
@@matthewgeraci3938 LOL there is more than one. I ended up riding one with a flat rear and almost no brake...ok, I hiked it mainly, but with a bike....
There’s a secret double black diamond trail that leads off from a section of going green and it’s more lose then 10-ply and extremely sketchy and steep; it then connects to the end of going green.
i was going full speed and jumping the section at 8:15 hit the brakes coming in hot and went right over the non bermed right hander @ 8:20 right between the stump and that tree. , it's actually pretty steep and I think I went over another tree stump. There are some sketchy parts to that green trail if you're not paying attention and going to fast.... getting the bike up that hill sucked too. It's steep as fuck.
What’s the most cost effective way for beginners with no mtb equipment to go? Because rental is 100+ and lift ticket is around 50. All for one day, it is a bit pricey but I would love to go. Thanks!
MTB is a dangerous sport. The quality and condition of the equipment is an important part of what's gonna reduce the potential for injury. And especially for a beginner the equipment is a big part of what will make a day at the bike park FUN. As far as the price of the bike, 100 bucks seems reasonable for a day on a rad bike that retails for at least 5K or 6K. And while the price is one indicator, the real deal is that a modern bike is gonna do a lot of work for you meaning it's gonna save you from crashing more than you'll even know. And as such, it's gonna be a helluva lot more fun than trying to survive on an old borrowed thing pulled out from the back of the garage. Consider it more insurance against ending up in the ER. And don't underestimate the value of an all day lift-ticket. If you've ever pedaled up to the top of that mountain, you'll appreciate the value of being able to just chill, sip a beverage, and chat with your buddies as your glide up the mountain. So really, 150 bucks is pretty cost effective if you ask me. :) Also, I highly recommend renting protective equipment too. As a note, I did a full guide on Snow Summit if you're planning to head up there. ua-cam.com/video/iDeankTwEp8/v-deo.html
It's really hard to get a clean run on it as it is full of beginner riders. But if you can get a clean run, it is actually a blast of you ride it at 100%. But, it's a very green trail so expect it to be full or riders who fit that skill level.
Ha! I was kinna grumpy. I had gotten a flat the previous week, and the plug I had put in had popped out. I am normally OK with that kind of thing, but I've had to mess with tire stuff every weekend for the last few weeks...! 😐 That being said, the new plug was fatter and seems to be holding this time!

Rode Going Green all weekend (legit my 3rd time on trails!) and had a blast! Great trail to learn on.
Sweet! Great trail!

I'm sure this was recorded before that.
Thanks for the update Thomas! Indeed, the trail crew has been doing work. Unfortunately I captured this not long before they made the updates.

It's all downhill from here.
I need to go here.
Nice trail Alan. Thanks for sharing. 😀
My pleasure!
at 2:56 they changed the trail, it doesn't do that little drop anymore- they added some small berms instead,
Nice. Thanks for the update. 🙏🏾

Do it!

Side note: what’s with the sound your hub makes? Is it bent?
Thanks!
The hub isn't bent. I had one of those tires where the tread deviates and makes it go wuh wuh wuh...

I wished they allowed e-bikes on going green.
Can I use my ebike there
I believe you can. Best to check their website though.
I’ve ridden that trail and I didn’t like it cuz there was no jumps and it lasted like 4 miles

Yeah I just found west ridge, blue steel, and party wave to be more fun
