I love how every time you switched load-outs you were jumped, and cut it from just before you landed. It looked like a lot of video games, and it just made me smile.
I decided to give "jump" cuts a try. :D

@@CaptainXavier Hilarious, maybe. Definitely punny.

Ok thanks
Being an army infantry grunt I approve this message...
That honestly means a lot to me. :)
Fully agree with all the information you have put out. I have all the medium loadout gear. I am going to start hackin up a magnus and attaching it to my stryfe.
Infantry! Infantry! They've all got it infantry!
Excellent advice with the secondary blaster being on your off-hand - something I personally never thought of.
Great video, it will help a lot of people figure out their loadout.
I personally use an Artemis as my primary and a low rate-of-fire OoD Jupiter as my secondary. I also always hold a sock in my hand just in-case.
A perfect combo.

Mod idea: the double barrel shotgun from RUST
A reminder from his first video; If YOU can run it effectively, run it. If you've got an auto-stryfe or rapidstrike but have the trigger discipline to conserve your ammo, go for it!
I guarantee that Xavier got all of these blasters originally from a Goodwill
Actually...no...the Autostryfe shown was purchased from a friend.
oh hey Captain Xavier this was a joke lol
Ah...well...better luck next time?
I've recently come back to this video 6+ months later after getting some gear, and I gotta admit - this advice must have stuck in my head, because I went with a battle belt with MOLLE and 4 mag holders on it. I paired them with some Alice style Y-suspenders hooked onto them so they don't sag, with a Rampage for my Battle Carbine.
God, I feel old... being in the military, I had the alice stuff when I first joined, now have the molly gear. Don't miss the alice gear at all.
Something I have learned from my special forces Buddies that could apply here is for your light kit have 3 primary mags on your chest normally 30 rounders and one on your belt and two sidearm magazines on your belt
Oh no!I now truly understand the Magnitude of My Failure! Curse my crystal ball for being in for its MOT

@@CaptainXavier also, i did manage to successfully predict the future, I ordered the bits for my autostryfe a week ago, and got a (for me) offhand holster for a larp just before christmas, so i truly am a Prognosticator!
I'm sick today and this brightens up my day.
Captain
A super well thought out and as always well done Captain. I love the idea of so kind of standardized platforms for each type. Great work can't wait for the rest. Thanks for being awesome Captain.
Bangarang
See, I’ve done nerf and Airsoft both. What I do checking corners is switch hand and go ambi. That’s just what I do, since I’ve done it for a little while😂
It's worth noting that you can find safety yellow and blaze orange MOLLE vests fairly economically. Helps make it clear to the public you're not decked out in real gear. :)
Internals tip for all you new players: use plastic internals. Being light certainly helps, especially in long battles.
If you want to get a canteen for, say to hold water for team mates, complete the look for shorter games if something happens to your camel back whatever, there are some on amazon for like $10-11 and they have free shipping if you have amazon prime
General tip: if using a springer just be aware that older darts will NOT work, and jam the blaster.
This will be played during world war 3 to prepare us for combat.
pro tip, stanley tool belt will work very well
I actually used to wear the vest until one hvz where i got REALLY overheated, then i switched to a battle belt. Its actually funny because if anyone know im "gonna bust the vest out" then that means im gonna basixally be a waddling magazine XD. Fun fact is that i can still run with the vest with 1000 rounds in it XD
I appreciate your POV on magazine storage. I always wear too much
Id be infantry/heavy infantry. I watched your stryfle mkii video and the internals are not as available as they used to be. What do you reccomend for the internals to not exceed 120fps? Most of my stryfe builds hit between 130 and 150.
Still working that out myself. We plan to do a video on good HvZ internals and possibly sell kits.
@@CaptainXavier awesome! Looking forward to the vid!
I’m more of a 12 round 10 round guy because I like to burst fire and use semi, also always have a 6 round mag for the last stand of your unit
I have been looking for a good under-barrel secondary something. Proud Papa is easy but I wanted something else. Thought I had it with the TriStrike barrel extension but not jazzed that it's a HAMP. Your mention and integration of the Magnus is PERFECT. Nice job.
so ive been fine tuning both my light and medium infantry loadouts. im probably going to join a sector that doesnt run much because ive got arthritis in my foot and im a big guy.
medium: modulus ecs-10 primary with eight 22 dart mags (1 loaded in blaster, 1 in the rail mounted magwell and 6 in the chest rig)
dessert pigeon sidearm with 5 mags (3 in a pouch on my belt, one in holster and one loaded)
if i need special infected hunting, i'll attach either the missile stock or mega hamp barrel and carry that ammo for it as well.
light: modulus mediator with the tri-strike attachments as my special infected hunting and i'll be carrying three or five 25 or 30 dart drums (if i can find enough 30 dart drums second hand)
a modified barricade or a shotgun cycloneshock sidearm
the light loadout will be on belt without a chest rig and the medium is run with both a melt and a condor ops chest rig.
every and all loadouts will have minimum 3 foam grenades (all brightly colored and ordered from cambellnerfworks) but will probably will include more in the quartermaster's loadout when theyre on my squad.
I run a rapidstrike pistol with a honey badger pusher and in a 6 minute king of the hill match I use around 13-16 18 round mags
I run the old 782/Alice gear and will be picking up the Nexus Pro. As this will be my first half dart blaster, any suggestions on pouches? Pistol mag holders? Possibly a SMG pouch, like for a Thompson?
Question: would a demolisher rocket count as a substitute of mega rounds. Excluding the logistics of demolisher rockets, of course. Am obsessed with the rockets and wondered if the rules allow it.
Every game is different so it depends on the game.
I use sum thing to ripar nerf blasters. cud you make a role for it. it is fine if you cant. ps the reson is because I made it and I want to help my team

Hey cap! Hope this isn’t a dumb question and the don’t get the snark but do you happen to know what holster you were using for your auto stryfe? I absolutely LOVE these videos! Bangarang!
Not a dumb question at all. They are custom made by me.
you really do put a lot of effort into these videos, the result is absolutely awesome :)

Can't have the administration complain you're wearing black tactical gear if you have everything in olive drab.
Underslung shellstrike nuff saif
What was your favorite build of 2018?
For my load out (blasters only) I have : a rapidstrike (slow rate of fire) a hammershot)(for obvious reasons) and a magnus
Great video, I will be a light infantry , working on my side stryfe
Good advice as always sir cant wait for the rest
I've been doing research. I have found something that could fit me. Instead of having a vest, I will have a molle battle belt, get a harness if it won't fit. I will have 2 mag pouches. It will hold 8 magazines. (1 in blaster.) 5 will hold 12, 4 will hold 14. I will have also a pistol mag pouch and with my secondary as a DZP MK2.
Now here. My primary is a 2s stryfe vector. Attachments: Coyote sight and maybe backup irons. PDW stock. Flashlight. This one does not really matter but a rubber handstop to cushion my hand from stress.
A TacBackPack because I want more use out of it.
And I guess I could have a hurricane for duel wielding when I shorten out my stryfe to a 'machine pistol'. And a (Very) dull balisong for tapping people if I can with very slight force. Reloading is not a problem for me. I have been practicing reloads for months
This kind of falls in between some categories though
Great series, very fun and informative!
Is Eir still in service or have you decommissioned her? Will we ever get any more videos on her? Finally did you ever get the Latin and/or Elder Futhark for her name put on?
She is currently in need of a complete overhaul internally. She was built before I had the knowledge, skills, and tools I have now. When she is rebuilt I will add the names.
a rampped up demolisher would be good for medium infantry, right? it has a under barrel "grenade launcher" and if it is modified, you can go to major events.
i would honestly agree. also, if you like modulus stuff, the tri-strike attachments can make any flywheeler with a rail, a barrel and a stock attachment into a battle rifle on the fly. it also takes the mediator and makes it the most versatile carbine you can get.
Utility and versatility are the back bone of a great combat unit. Bangarang Auxiliary!!
Wow there,
Im Not having time to watch one video before the next is uploaded. ;)
Onwards!
(When do we get to the unfit old gits loadout?)
I recommend Heavy, actually. Support the Command Column. Very little running involved.
I just role with a satchel full of extra rounds and my trusty slingfire. I guess I’m in the scout class with this
Technically that would fall into Light Infantry. Which is a perfectly good loadout for Recon so...yes.
Hey cap could you go through a scout loudout/ tactics please?
...dude...I will be covering all the units/roles/loadouts. Be patient.
In some situations, an underslung Baron might actually be more convenient than a Magnus... It can be front-loaded for quick reloading, its overall size is slightly smaller, and it doesn't need to have the slide cut shorter for clearance.
Very good points. Mr. Nathan's Hellhound has an underslung Baron and it is sweeeeeet. On the Con side, though, it is harder integrate (no bottom rail to conveniently attach and you either have to fabricate a special trigger system or it gets ugly), it hold one less round, and lacks that very satisfying and sexy "shunk-shunk" prime. :)
@@CaptainXavier Gotta have that sexy priming action!
Last endwar allowed halfdarts, are other hvz events starting to allow those do you know? Would save boatloads of space
Some do, some don't. WvZ does. Ragnaroctberfest does not (because all ammo is provided in game and they don't want to have to buy a third type of ammo)
If ever I got the chance to be in an HvZ-type, I'd be a support gunner among the infantry. Just got a Destructor which I'd use to throw up a stream of fire to allow my section to re-position in a horde rush. And in the quiet hours, I got a modified Retaliator and an Alpha Trooper.
And when it all goes down, I usually have a melee weapon on hand.
Could a close to stock fire-rate Stampede be considered semi-auto?
Yes
I love the Intro
I think I'll run a demoman build, but that's nice to know
Oh so if I bring a sawn-off lawbringer with some kind of small integration it’s okay?
Cool sus(I do not have the equipment or skill to, but I love the idea of that).
According to his last videos, anything is okay. Even only bringing just one Jolt, but then he probably won't let you watch his back and have you be a Vanguard or something instead. These are his recommendations.
Hmm. Curious about ammo types. Demolisher rockets, Megas, Vortex discs, and should one’s backup be the same ammo type? Am very interested, would love to hear you debate this with Jose, Brian, Cameron, Brett, Luke, and your Crew.
We value your input.
Thanks!
Ultimately ammo types are usually dictated by the event. I did forget to mention the matching ammo type video. I will probably have to do a "General Advice Addendum" as more things I have forgotten come to light.
Now the question is can it take a k2- oh wait I mean is the magstrike good for a scavenger war?
ua-cam.com/video/zN9dj_wDxX4/v-deo.html
Would a quick 16 count as "high capacity" at 16 rounds?
Not really, but the ability to top up so easily makes up for it.
@@CaptainXavier ok good to know thanks
What would you consider an Adventure Force Liberator with a 30-35 round hopper on it, and a tri-strike stock on it?
What would I consider it? What is there to consider? You just told me what it is...
@@CaptainXavier, what I mean is what kind of infantry would you consider ot to be. Would it be a light Infantry loadout, a medium one, or somewhere in between?
The Liberator is Pump action, yes?
do you reckon a modified demolisher with underslung jolt could be considered a auxilliary battle rifle if i carry a magnus?
Yes
honestly, the demo is already a battle rifle since rockets most often count as socks meaning they can tag any super. no external mods needed. if you use the mediator stock, it has a doublestrike in it so you dont need to underslung something that already has such an awkward gripping system anyway. i love the demo so its always a good recommendation.
@Captain Xavier Hey Cap'n, are you going to include a 'Zombie Tactics' video, too? I think it could be useful. A fair number of people just kind of meander around aimlessly once they've been tagged (which is, of course, very zombie-like) when they could be taking a more proactive role in the game to make the zombie portion more fun.
Yes
Hey captain, what pouch are you using to hold the sock on your chest rig? I could use one of those.
It is a single mag pouch. Don't remember where it came from. Bit tight for Nerf mags so I re-purposed it. It holds two socks nicely.
Can’t wait for the hunter load out!
Same here I’ve got a blaster I’ve been working on for a long time that I think will fit very well into that kind of role
Hey Captain, the idea of a rampages grip being cut and replaced with a bigshock? Imagine the functionality of the Ak style grenade launcher.
zboy 7312000 there is a 3D printable piece for it
i know im coming back to this video years later but these primers are in my opinion, a gear philosophy bible (not in the truly religious sense, i dont mean to offend anyone but probably the best and most practical philosophy ive seen on the topic) and ive got a quick question, when it comes to mag choices versus number, do you recommend carrying 4-5 regardless of each mag's capacity or should one carry more mags if its less than 22? im a short guy so i carry worker 12s (holds 15 comfortably) and i tend to carry 7 (6 on my chest since theyre so short and 1 in the blaster) or even 8-9 if im using my customizer pack rail attached spare magwell.
Carry what you can comfortably carry. Having more capacity does you no good if it impedes you to the point of encumbrance. I am large, I can carry 22's. If you are smaller then carry smaller mags. Just be aware that you have less ammo and make it count.
@@CaptainXavier much obliged captain
@@CaptainXavier this is going to be a weird reply but i figured you may get a slight kick out of it. so i recently tried on my old gear from a couple years back (the gear i couldn't fit 22s into because it would sit too high on my torso.) after hitting the gym for a year and losing some mass on my stomach. i can sit the chest rig i wear (a modified version of the classic vism rig so three double stack mag holders center mass of it) closer to my now slightly flatter stomach and can hold 22s low enough now to field them and reload consistently.
this puts my current medium infantry loadout at 219 darts already mag loaded (50 in pigeon specific pecker mags, 5 mags in total. seven 22 dart magazines in total including one loaded in the blaster and a single worker 12 dart mag in the customizer pack rail mounted magwell as an emergency magazine.) with more room to store more and im still able to move in it.
had i still had the same problem at my old size, id be using a full suite of worker 12s for a total of 170. 49 extra darts seems like a decent kit imo lol
Have you ever seen Vortex discs used as a way to tag special zombies?
Not that I can recall.
i know i seem to comment about once a year (i do reference these loadout and training videos often) but i do want to again, for light infantry minded people recommend the mediator specifically for a couple reasons.
1.) it fits the pump action slamfire requirement
2.) it has the smallest profile of every blaster with that capability
3.) it natively can hold both a stock and barrel attachment point
.) this meaning it can take both the tri-strike attachments and still only increase in size to a standard rifle length
its the battle carbine that has the most options for alternative ammo all built onto one blaster.
I liked this type of video a lot :)
Infantry sounding off
So I’m interested in starting to participate in HvZ games. Medium infantry seems the most interesting to me. Could something like a Strifle MKII with a Regulator/Rayven stock and a 8-shot hammershot and high rps Jupiter work for this role? I’d probably have 2 Tachi triple mags so I could have 174 semi auto shots with none on my body (besides rival mags and a dump pouch). And yes I did watch the first 2 videos and all of this one
...so...you want to know if a loadout that is basically exactly what is described in this video (perhaps slightly better even) would work for the role described in this video? I'm genuinely curious...why do you think it might not be?
@@CaptainXavier Yeah you’re right. I posted this before I found out that you said Jupiter sidearms are great. The only problem with the loadout is the lack of ammo comparability and how the primary takes half lengths. Another reason that I might have thought this could possibly not be a good loadout is because it was late and I don’t really think at all late at night even when I’m not tired. But thanks either way
@@ar.temis696 sounds like a great loadout. Let me know how it works out for you.
@@CaptainXavier I will. Also what’s the status on Ragnaroktoberfest?
@@ar.temis696 no idea. I assume canceled until next year.
Captain Xavier, I absolutely love you channel and the content you put out.
Cap in your opinion will a regulator be as good as a stryfe and are grenades/bayonets allowed
Not unless it is heavily modified. And no, HvZ's do not allow grenades (there than soft foam grenades as "socks") and no Mod Team in there right mind would allow bayonets.
Got it thank you for your reply
Unrelated but Hasbro should make a nerf gun called the knyght, because we have the stryfe and the raven. Maybe also another called the paladyn.

Who would count a regulator as an in between option if you can't decide between medium or heavy? Also, would a lever action, like a slingfire be acceptable for a light?
ua-cam.com/video/zN9dj_wDxX4/v-deo.html
@@CaptainXavier I watched it, but I was just trying to confirm that select fire is an in between point between full and semi auto, and most would find lever actions more awkward than pump actions, so would they be shoehorned into the same roles?
There's also bolt actions, like this extreme prototype for a 3d printed nerf Kar98k. I say prototype because the action isn't at all smooth, and the ammo is a prop version of the real bullets. ua-cam.com/video/86AzegdAbBY/v-deo.html
I cover the selectfire question in this video. 14:19 And will cover it more in the Heavy video.
I am not going to dictate loadouts and I cannot cover every possible combination or variation in these videos. This is why I ask you to watch the whole videos and to apply a little common sense. Is the functionality still there?
If someone wants to use a lever action or bolt action blaster and can do so effectively, then the functionality is still there.
I’m only 5’6 so the demolisher is already heavy
hey Xavier (or anybody else who knows) where can I buy a one point sling like the one you used in this video
JoAnns fabric or any store that sells nylon web belt and quick release buckles.
In both JoAnn and Michael's, the buckles, webbing, and even paracord are usually located near the leather working and jewelry making section.
@@CaptainXavier thanks!
Will the Tri-Strike work as a light infantry, or will it work as something else?
Any blaster can be used in any role if you are good enough. But the Tri-Stike would be an excellent in light infantry loadout.
@@CaptainXavier omg, thank you ☺️
i know its incredibly late but also consider using the mediator with the tri-strike's attachments. its pump action, takes the attachments really well and doesnt get too much longer. they also work on every other blaster and is my go to choice for battle rifle when used with my ecs-10 or mediator
The assault rifle would be a light stampede
i'm new to HVZ but i want to get into it, are there any unspoken rules or things along those lines i should know? and would you be interested in making a video covering that? also thanks for your content you never fail to make me laugh, i'm happy to see how you have evolved over the years, thanks!

treemonkey321979 if your building a blaster specifically for endwar it doesn’t make sense to have a mega firing blaster at all. Endwar has never had rules for different ammo types, and almost certainly won’t this year as well.
