Love Love her in yellow jackets and The Last of Us she is absolutely phenomenal. ❤❤❤.

I'm not sure thats pretty much the only thing in Shaunas adult time line atm but at least Melanie gave us a chance to prepare for it , if Jeff dies we riot lol also my names Evan aswell lol and my best friend in high schools last name was fowler weird lol
we know it's pretty likely that Shauna gives birth in ep 6. they've talked about ep2, ep6 and ep9 being absolutely insane. we know why the said it about ep2. i am dying to know what happens at the end of the season but i'm along for the ride.

See her in "I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore." it is a great, unique dark comedy. She's brilliant in it.
I remember liking her a lot in Heavenly Creatures and Ever After, back when I was like 8-12yo, I'm so happy she's had this longevity and diversity in work. I always smile when I see her in a film or show, my housemate didn't understand why I loved seeing her in the Last of Us (which had a lot of really cool cameos, like Graham Greene & Elaine Miles from Northern Exposure). Anyway, I think Lynskey is a fantastic actress and I'm happy she has an amazing fandom / resume.

Been a fan of Melanie's since I first saw her in Heavenly Creatures years ago. Always found her very underrated. I'm glad to see her getting more recognition and praise. She deserves it.
That short “The Birthday Party” she did for XX really lives in my head rent free. I feel that most people didn’t get it, and that’s EXACTLY why she liked it.
She really chooses interesting roles! Much like Parker Posey!

Heavenly creatures will always be her and Kate Winslet's best performance . Such hard roles for young women seeing as it was 100% based on real people and a real murder in NZ

I love her so much. Outside of the roles shown here, I'd encourage people to check out The Intervention with her, her husband, Natasha, and Clea, as well as I Don't Feel At Home in this World Anymore which is such a badass movie and I think partly why she's having a Renaissance now
I feel the exact same way about those two films. I mean, she's brilliant in everything she's in but those two movies should be seen by more people.

I agree. I've only just watched The Intervention and can't believe I didn't know about it before. Clea did an amazing job! Plus it was so great to have Clea, Melanie and Natasha back together.
@@booberfraggle3839 Melanie isn't in this (yet at least...) but Natasha's new show on Peacock, Poker Face, is incredible and has Clea DuVall guest starring in one episode in a very memorable way
@@looney1023 Yeah, Poker Face is awesome! It only aired in the UK a couple of weeks ago, which drove me nuts as I'd been hearing such great things about it for months. I loved Clea's character and hope that they can work her into the second series somehow, hopefully with Melanie as well.

i'm so obsessed with her on yellowjackets and can't believe i haven't seen her in anything else... or, well, i had but she didn't stick with me! i just watched Don't Look Up! she's so adorable. i've added several of her movies and shows to my list.
A favourite of mine they didn't mention is I Don't Feel At Home in this World Anymore with Elijah Wood. It has a simiiar black humour vibe to Yellowjackets.
She's so fantastic in everything.
I loved her character "Rose" in 2 1/2 men. I recently saw her on Jimmy Fallon and I said that's Rose! But I wasn't sure because she looks so young still. I thought she'd look much older by now but she's just as beautiful now as she was then. I'm so happy to know she'd done all these movies. I'll have to catch some of them.
Heavenly Creatures will always be my all time favourite movie. Melanie and Kate were so tremendous- especially considering it was their first film. However, I will also always be a little bitter that Melanie didn't get the career that Kate did. They are both equally talented and in a just world, Melanie would have several blockbusters and Oscar nominations to her name. Unfortunately, she wasn't the definition of the Euro beauty standard that Kate was/is so alas. I'm glad she's finally getting recognition
I agree. "Heavenly Creatures" is a masterpiece, one of those movies that always stick with you, even after years. And Melanie and Kate had such chemistry together!
Great interview! I really enjoyed her work in Yellowjackets and The Last of Us. My introduction to Lynskey's work came with Ever After: A Cinderella Story; really surprised it wasn't included here.

a film people should check her in is Rose Red, a made for tv film based on a Stephen King story, Melanie was amazing in it.

I just saw her in Rose Red and she was so good and soo young. I remember when that came out and I wanted that movie so bad. They wouldn't release the movie and I finally got to purchase it this year, and I watched it last week it is absolutely phenomenal. When I saw the beginning credits I could not believe it 😮....OMG one if my fav actresses is in this....WHOA!!!! LOVE MELANIE!!!!

I just wanted to mention how much I love her in I Don’t Feel at Home in this World Anymore, as well. Pretty much my whole family is obsessed with Yellowjackets and we literally wished aloud that they would add Elijah Wood to the Yellowjackets cast (pretty much on the strength of how great he and Melanie were together in that wonderful, odd little movie) a few months before they made the announcement that he actually would be coming! So we feel pretty high right now on the one and only thing we ever successfully manifested. Well… my sister can demand that someone skate to Bolero every time figure skating is on tv and always get her wish. But it seems like maybe they just do that anyway.
Natasha Lyonne and Clea Duvall would also be great on Yellowjackets! Just saying!
