The rear carpet is rubber underneath, so if you dont know what to look for, you really wont know until it starts to smell. This has a faint water smell, not moldy smell. I've experienced it on so many GX470's, I know what the smells are... if thsat makes sense.
Mine leaked and I think it kinda smelled like marijuana lol, maybe it wasnt the carpet. But what is your suggestion if you don’t use the rear seats and the padding wasnt worth keeping? Is it worth buying a new padding and reassemble “stock” or go with some other sound/thermal insulation under the carpet?
@@Avalonautogroup I recently purchased a 2014 GX. No leaks until taking it through the car wash. Leaking water from both 3rd row seat belt openings. Any idea what the source could be?
Thanks for this vid, I need to get to those roof rack screw inserts, they fell in when trying to swap the roof rack :(
Where does the water leak come from ? Assuming on the top part of the rear door ?
Did the car smell? Was this a lazy previous owner not fixing the issue before, or was it hard to know that it was leaking?
