So much info, thank you... but man my brain struggled to hear as fast as you were speaking... I'll listen to this several times for sure. Thank you again.
Hi Paige. Happy new year to you. Thanks for this video. Perfect timing as I’m just about to set up a new shop for a client and haven’t done one yet in 7.1. The new category functionality it definitely a step up since 7.0. This is a great overview and I especially appreciate the peak at the new product editor. I haven’t played much with that so that so a good opportunity to get my feet wet. Look forward to next weeks video!
Hey Jai! Ahh wonderful! So glad you found it helpful! Keep me posted on what you think of 7.1 while you build out your client’s site! I’m currently working on moving our pbcourses.com site over to 7.1 and I have to say I’m digging how easy it is to duplicate sections and whole pages compared to index pages in 7.0! 👌🏼
Hi Paige, thanks for uploading such useful video.Just came across your channel while searching for my query while setting up my webpage on square as I couldn't find to add measurements of sizes for my clothes. I really appreciate if you can help on this.
Hey Aneeta! So glad you found it helpful! And yes! If you are using the new product editor where all your product page options are in one long-scrolling window, then you want to scroll down to the "CUSTOMIZE" area, and select "ADDITIONAL INFO". You will be able to add and rearrange text blocks or image blocks in there to show your sizing measurements! If you are using the classic editor, you'll find the same feature under the "ADDITIONAL INFO" tab. Hope that helps to answer your question! Cheers!
Hello Page, thanks for this video. Question: What is the difference between adding a shop as you did (similar to adding a new page to the website/main navigation) and doing it from the "Commerce" section (at the main menu where we have "Pages" "Design" "Commerce" "Marketing" etc...? I am confused about this and can't find an answer anywhere.
I have the Commece Basic package but mine looks a little bit different than yours. Is there an update that I'm missing or do you have Advanced Commerce? Love this video but am having trouble with a few design features!
Thrilled you enjoyed it! The Universal Filter by Square Websites - is a handy plug in for more in depth filtering and sorting www.squarewebsites.org/squarespace-plugins/universal-filter . Otherwise using tags and categories can give you options (you can make a tag/ category for price ranges, like $10-$100 and another for $101-$200 for example). Hope that helps!
Hi Paige, thank you so much for the helpful video. The only thing I am still confused by, is the taxes. I sell nationwide (planning to sell internationally soon), do i really need to add each zip code's sales tax manually?
+1 here. It seems like you overlooked the fact that if you sell something online, you need to collect taxes. Would love to see a video from @paige focused on taxes (because you are clear and concise and I enjoy your vids!). Thx!
Hi Paige, this was really helpful. But in my store, my categories aren't showing up anywhere, even if I press 'top' or 'sidebar'. Can you help?! Thank you!
Hey Shelby! So glad you found it helpful! As for those categories, they should automatically appear when created (even if no products with those categories have been published!) So as long as you've done the step of actually creating the categories first (either by adding them in the store page settings or inside a product's settings) then I'm terribly sorry to say that I'm not sure what could be causing them to not appear! Thankfully, Squarespace support is included in your subscription when you go to upgrade, and they are always so happy to help troubleshoot!
Hi, I'm a new subscriber to your channel. This video was great for the near future plans for my business. I was wondering if you have a video to teach me how to set up my clients to be able to click on a page that they can watch tutorial videos. This would be for my private students only. I know w how I want it to happen but I don't know how to go about it myself. Can you help me with this Thank you
Hi Paige, how much traffic has Squarespace in comparison with Showit? I asked and they couldn’t really give me an answer. Seems that Squarespace doesn’t has any traffic , just general . Please can you help me in this? Thanks
Love your Energy & Enthusiasm, But you lost me when you pree- added jewelry store. Would love it if you made a step by step 1 hr vidio with eavery single detail to set up new store for beginers. FYI Cant wate to get my store up and running, I have great inovative products and quit my truck driving job to fallow my dreams.
This was exactly what I needed! Thank you so much

It doesn’t make any difference. Either works.

Great video. How do I add sort/filter options? (e.g sort by price, filter cost $10-$100 etc)
