A composer not well known for being very simple in his work , I like it because it is clean , simple , and evokes states of healthy well - being ; a delight for the ear, a balm for the soul. Excel
We heard every note! Thanks for not rushing it and keeping the charm and expression as should be in this genre of short pieces. Many flutists unfortunately just strive to play everything too fast, the passages become muddied and musical expresion suffers in the process. Props too for performing from memory. This helps to raise the leve of flute performance to that of string players and pianists. Brava!
Agreed. I get utterly sick of hearing everything played at speeds that frankly make the pieces end up sounding like loony tunes comedy.
I don't understand the flautist obsession with playing things so fast that they lose all musicality.
I agree! I'm a 17 year old flutist & I really learned that musicianship especially on flute is not all about being technically superb. With that being said sometimes being too technical or speedy can result in bad musicality. As I learn more about musicality I have a greater appreciation & understanding for expression with dynamics & such just how you explained. This is one of the pieces I am going to use for my audition for a youth orchestra.
Isaac Navarro I agree as an eleven year old flautist I learned that speed is not as important as quality
@@Bobthe1st2 how did it go?😂
@@Bobthe1st2 completely agree with you. Listen to Galway. He is completely unbearable to listen, but his fingerig is great.
idylle absolutely breaks me and builds me at the same time. i adore your interpretation ❤️
Thank you so much! Idylle is one of my favorite music to play!
0:02 - Allegretto
2:09 - Idylle
6:55 - Valse
11:36 - Applause
oh my goodness! such beautiful tone, expression, and hats off to you for the third movement which fully destroyed me when I learnt this!
I keep returning to this because I like it so much. Thank you.
I LOVE the tempo of Waltz! It is not too fast, it sounds so elegant like real dance, not as a just virtuosical piece for flute
absolutely beautiful!!!
Beautiful performance. Lovely tone.
One of the first pieces I learned outside of my Essential Elements notebook. This piece inspired me to improve my playing. Still one my favorites!
what grade did your first book go up to exactly? Because I'm post-grade 8 and the third movement is still very much a big challenge
how lovely. I am so tired of overblown, overloud flute playing with huge wobbly vibrato. bravo, very elegant
Thank you very much for your sweet comment!
There are some very lovely moments.
Beautiful playing! I actually played the first movement for a competition, and got 1st place! Thank you for this lovely video
Wonderful playing !
I keep coming back to this cover of Idylle! xD It's absolutely beautiful... (:
I am learning to play this song as well! I am using you as a prime example. I hope that one day, I can play it with as much heart and soul as you. You are amazing and I aspire to be like you one day!
What a wonderful musician and flautist she is! The third piece - the waltz - is played with such grace ! What a difference to the other “testosterone” players. This is how flute ought to be played not like a trumpet or clarinet. Inspiring. Thanks.
Claudio can you clarify what you mean by “testosterone” players?
Also, I think there is a place for intensity in playing the flute. Certainly not much in this piece, what’s your opinion?
Wonderful light playing of a piece I know so well. Every nuance brought out beautifully
Stunning! Beautiful performance
I keep listening to this!
Beautiful... God bless you.
You are an incredibly gifted flutist. Congrats on such a great performance!
Beautiful!
Nothing to say she was just perfect and I strongly admire how she did the valse I'm learning it and it's taking me weeks to succeed 😫
Wonderful playing! Thank you
Magnifique interprétation, toute en sensibilité, joie et retenue
Raym HENRY Et je dois jouer ça ... impossible 😭

What a tone!!
Absolutely fabulous. i saw your interpretation :) and i also want to play this piece like you :) So wonderful i love it :) i am practising but the valse is ah little bit too fast for me :) So i have to practice every day the valse xD
Fantastico fraseo, excelente
Sherwin.....she is very tastefully dressed. I think no one notices anything like that....we are all just listening to her beautiful playing......
Przepięknie!! Polecam!!

Bravo! :D encore!
Stunning performance. Would be nice to see the flautist's name in the title.
her name is below, Hye Sung Choe
som Slovaak Hye Sung Choe is the flautist, Godard is the composer

😄😃
My teacher is making me learn all 3 movements (I’m 16)😬
My son is 10 and he is working on bumblebee & this song
Wow, some great musical jabber, but I do say, are the exaggerated pinky movement really necessary? In the efficiency of creating music, energy needs to be conserved so all energy goes towards sound, not looks, and the pinky not only decreases the purity of the sound, but is a distraction for the viewers. I would recommend expelling it from the body to prevent this from happening, but great overall.

"...decreases the purity of the sound,..." - do you have any evidence for this? I find people who are distracted by movement during a performance hard to understand.
Martytalius same I also find people that are distracted by the movement hard to understand
Too busy enjoying the beautiful tone and excellent dynamics to notice what her fingers were doing. I love how she plays this piece and doesn't ruin it by going too fast.
