Yooo if anyone of you can speak english can you guys please explain one thing to me!! I'm a reggae lover and especially Late 80's Raggamuffin and for some reason Panama was doing such awesome things with Raggamuffin in that time period. with Nando Boom & El General and i used to have a LP that only had Spanish speaking Raggamuffin artists and i'll bet most of them were from Panama to.. And also what also really amazes me!! Is that if i for example would search a song up from Johnny P ill have a 50% chance that it's been uploaded by someone from Panama and the comments sections of those uploads are mostly in Spanish.. You guys still absolutely love guys like Flourgon, Johnny P, Daddy Lizard etc. I am really curious why that is? Anyways One Love 1 Curazon and Unity Bless!!
Bro, Panama has a lot of culture from different countries. During the construction of the Panama Canal, a lot of people from the caribbean (and other places) came to work on it and at the end they decided to live here. Between 1984 or 85 dance hall started to sound here and it was inmediately accepted. Music from some artists like Bob Marley, Peter Metro or Yellow man was already listened by the rastafari comunityThere is a city in Panama, Colon is the name, there are some rastafaris who shows the value a and pushed the dance hall riddim. Spanish reggae started here, there was a riddim called Dem bow (a Shabba Ranks song) puerto rican people like panamenian style and music and they started their proyect, some years after they call it reggaetonNow in Panama dance hall dies, just producing urban music, maybe a 30% of real reggae, just a few artista continue the dance hall, looks like those years will never come back...
The construction and upkeep of the Panama Canal brought all types of migrants even from Pakistan. I had a cadre at one of my military courses in the US army whom was from Panama but looked totally Pakistani. Gorgeous woman. Anyways, the Panama Canal brought migrant workers from Jamaica and reggae culture was brought along with them.
The Jamaican culture is alive in Panamá... My maternal side is descendants of Jamaica and of course before that Africa I remember my grandma spoke 4 languages 1. Proper English 2. Jamaican English and 3. Spanish and 4. Proper Castilian 😂😂😂
