Sans is such a cool character, the idea of a fictional character having consciousness over his world being reset and having his memories wiped out, and being the thing that gates you from trying to beat the game, using the games mechanics against you, and just in general being funny and insteresting, such a masterpiece of a game.
one of my favorite secrets is the instant ramen, not just because of the usefulness, but the context makes perfect sense, in pacifism, obviously the enemies/you aren't in a hurry to win, so cooking the noodles makes perfect sense...for a moderate heal, plus so much effort for just "okay" really sullys down the taste, in genocide, the protagonist doesn't have that luxury, so they just eat it raw, and lets be real, dry noodles are great.
The ramen isn't coded to pacifist/genocide, there's another variable, whether the game is in "serious" mode. As an example, the Asgore fight will have the same dialogue found in genocide.
Saving is of course completely optional even in the genocide route but it’s actually very useful because when you save it tells you how many monsters are left in the area. That’s why your chat was pressuring you to save
im a little late, but he already played the pacifist before this. he also says it at the start of this video. however when i was a kid and the game had just come out i did watch a genocide run gameplay before the neutral and pacifist, and oh man, it was so sad seeing how happy everyone could've been instead of being murdered!
To be fair, the genocide just has no impact on you due to not knowing the characters, its like showing someone Gandalf's death without any context to the movie, or like watching the death of the male lead in the Titanic without watching the rest of the movie... I rest my case.
Bro needs to grasp the concept of saving 🤣 Quick Tip: Check the info of your items more often and also nab better healing items. For Sans you're gunna need a lot of healing.
I think it might have something to do with reaction content, like you don't save so that way if you didn't press record you can always go back and replay it on camera. Idk what it really is though that's just my guess
btw sans warns you about his fight at the bridge in snowdin but since you left the room before you talked to him, he despawned. if you're curious you can search it up, because that dialogue is my favorite.
@@christophersamueldearlysih262 yeah but it actually helps lol. if you have the notebook and the sunglasses you can literally stand still in all of sans first attack and not die, and if u don't have them both you gonna die if you stand still

Either way, it’s a fantastic game that means a lot to me and many others. Your energy throughout these videos is infectious :) I can’t wait to see what you think of all the endings!
Personally I like that he's doing genocide first, because of all the Undertale let's plays I've seen (and I've seen a lot), this is the _first_ time I've seen someone do genocide before pacifist! It's nice to have the formula changed up every so often. Totally agree about his infectious energy either way though!
about the whole thing the whole thing at around 1:28:00ish about more variations in cosplays and characters in general, undertale is probably one of the best fandoms for that with the fandom’s obsession with AUs
@@joonssmile5462 There definitely is. The clearly intended route both story and meta-wise is Neutral, Pacifist, Genocide. You're required to beat Neutral before Pacifist, the game won't let you do True Pacifist unless you've completed at least one Neutral ending. Then in Pacifist, you learn about the origins of Flowey, his identity as Asriel, the first human, and the fact that the name you choose at the beginning is the name of the first human, not your own. This is essential information for understanding the Genocide route; without it, the route loses a lot of its impact, as you don't understand why the name of the first human is important, why Flowey is acting like he's known you for a long time, and the double meaning of the prophecy. And from a meta standpoint, Genocide is intended to be the player squeezing the last bit of content out of the game, having done everything else and just wanting to see what happens if they push the game to its limits. Without that context, the ending once again falls completely flat. There's a reason the Genocide route is nearly impossible to figure out on your own without looking up the steps to achieve it first; Toby wanted players to learn about this "super sekrit" route not through their own experimentation, but by scouring the web looking for alternate endings. That's the whole point. You're so desperate for more content that you'll gleefully murder your own friends and sell your soul to the devil. The game presenting these "routes" as if they are equal options is deliberate misdirection. Undertale is actually a rather linear game disguised as a nonlinear game. You are meant to believe that you can do either Pacifist or Genocide first, but in truth the Pacifist run informs and gives context for the Genocide run in so many ways that the player is actively doing themselves a disservice by playing Genocide first.
Okay, finally you actually saved. But I think you can beat Sans with skill. It is recommended you get better items. like for example the legendary heroes are the easiest ones to get at this point. From what I've read when I tried to beat Sans (I gave up), you would need the butterscotch cinnamon pie because that gives max hp no matter what (but you already used that) the snowman pieces are like 40 hp (already used) then the instant noodles and also the hero sandwiches and also gives you +4 attack in your stats (but sans avoids your attacks anyway) and the face steak. so get more of those sandwiches if you want. but no matter what i believe you are gonna crush sans and i fully support this genocide run before pacifist run thing. So anyway good luck!
Tip for beating sans, incase you wanna try again, the pan and notebook are very useful, the glasses and notebook add more frames where Sans doesn't hit you, you could sit through the first attack and live. The pan adds like + 6 to every healing item or something. Beat that Skeleboy.
-----Reason i think why people say that, just putting this here in case u dont wanna read it--------- I think people say to do pacifist first because you get more attached to the characters and then in geno you have to murder the ones you're attached to, while if you already murdered them then you will not be as attached, tho he got LV 10 in the first play through and from what I've seen that means he might've not get attached as much
