I was listening to that today and am astounded at how beautiful his voice has got since he's got older, it's very rich and just gets better and better!! I've been a massive fan for 35 years. I listen to him every day! He sounds fantastic on this.
I really enjoyed this. My top 2 would be exactly the same as yours. We only differ on one album, Kill Uncle which would be my third favourite. I was disappointed when it came out but it has really grown on me. My favourite two tracks from it are Sing Your Life and King Leer. Great video! Cheers - Richard
Would agree with your ordering. Though I have to confess I haven't brought his last couple of albums! So would leave them out. Interesting to see other people's opinions. I've been a fan from the early nineties so maybe that plays a role.
Good Review. Hard to rank a lot of the Albums, all a bit hit and miss ,but no doubting the no1 is "Vauxhall and I" ,his only Album without a duff track.
Enjoyed this video! My order would be very different though, I actually prefer ringleader of the tormentors and years of refusal to your arsenal and vauxhall and I ..I'd imagine that's an unpopular opinion though. His last two, low in high school and I am not a dog on a chain I'd rank near the bottom though I do appreciate the experimentation and do still mostly enjoy dog on a chain ..low in high school less so. I hope he manages to get his new stuff released, I sort of like Morrissey admire him for doing his own thing but he does seem quite difficult and not that ..nice? I don't know.
Yes, I can imagine him being a very difficult person to work with, but, you have you disconnect yourself from things like that and try ot just focus on the music... I'm a big fan of The Fall and Mark E Smith was a horrible person by all accounts... Thanks for watching, glad you enjoyed it...
I would say Vauxhall and Arsenal are his two most consistently good albums and both belong in his top three . But Viva Hate has his best songs , so maybe that deserves number one. Kill Uncle - an album that split opinion upon release - can now be judged better within the context of his entire catalogue , and it's at number four . The rest of his work simply doesn't mean as much to me - blame nostalgia for the early nineties - and they all pile up on the doorstep of Kill Uncle.
I didn’t know the UK labels on his cds and albums were like that, I’m in the US and they were released in the standard record company labels. Makes me want to seek out some of these again. You need to buy the new reissue of Kill Uncle, Morrissey re-sequence the songs and added a few others. It makes for a much better album.
Regarding his albums since world peace.. his voice sounds great on them but I don't know if I like the production ..over produced perhaps? Not something that usually bothers me but they just have quite an artificial sound perhaps. Suppose you are the quarry had that to some extent too ..prefer the slightly more live sounding production on ringleader and years of refusal.
Kill Uncle is my favorite Morrissey album. It’s very subtle and the production is amazing. Well written and arranged songs.
Kill Uncle is my favorite!! I don't know why people are not so fond of it???
I am not a dog on a chain is an absolute Masterpiece!

Hi, glad you enjoyed the video... I guess my initial view of 'Kill Uncle' never changed, it's tainted me...haha! Thanks for watching...
Kill uncle is great
Guy just glances over one of the greatest musical pieces of all time. Song "Southpaw".
As a rockabilly at heart, I have always loved Your Arsenal. And I can listen to I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday forever.
Thanks for the video mate! I've noted down a few tracks I've not listened to before and will soon put that right
Interesting to see other people’s preferences. My list is completely different.
Does anyone know why the cover artwork was changed on his past solo albums?
VIVA MOZ ❤
I love the cover of it's over though even if he doesn't go for that high note at the end :p
Great video!

Vauxhall and I was his first weak album and is in the bottom 3 or 4 for me (though it still has some really good songs). Ringleaders is a great album.
Absolute nonsense.
You didn't mention SWORDS. A great album of b-sides.
Yeah, I was mostly concentrating on studio albums and just did a cursory mention of some compilations...
Thanks for watching, hope you enjoyed it...
"Kill Uncle" was one of the most drab, dull albums I've ever heard....with the exception of the tracks "Sing Your Life" and "Found Found Found".
King leer is amazing
