You have to lubricate the cover plate are before sliding closure sleeve in. If you dont, you will damage the o ring and the device will leak. The video is useful but if you follow exactly what it is done in there, you will have big problem in the field.

Did you close the #2 ,supply valve?

Step #4 - closing test cock number with the test kit needle holding steady only indicated that the assembly is in a static state. This step does not confirm that the downstream shut-off valve (#2) is drip tight. Stating that the downstream valve is tight on the report form is misleading since it was not actually tested and may be viewed as false statement. As stated in the video, unless you create a flow downstream you cannot truly confirm the status of the downstream shut-off valve. Your video demonstrates such --- as you open the downstream shut-off valve, the test kit needle does not move --- indicating that the downstream shut-off valve is holding drip tight when in fact it is in an open position.

The No#2 shut off valve is only for maintenance purpose , it should not leak but it does not have really nothing to do with BFP assembly , if in condition of no flow downstream of BFP , it does not matter if valve is open or shut even when testing as long line maintain static pressure , unles some disharge could hapen downstream that would efect the test but thats about tester to know, practically if 2 shut of leaking , it does nothing to do with BFP if check valves holding tight , specialy because shut off valves are normaly in open positions !
Noticed recording of the No#2 check valve way high , above 5 psi , normaly by those type of assemblies are in the range of the 2 psi forNo# 2 check valve, No#1 check valve around 8 psi .
What is your observation Sir ?

at 19:00 on test #4, the low side hose, shouldn't it be test cock #3 that its being shut. The instructor said test cock#2 and that the yellow, high side hose.
