What is a legal submission letter in an immigration application?

- As a law firm, when we file an immigration application, we always include what is called a "submission letter". A submission letter is a cover letter which can range anywhere between a few pages to 20 pages or more depending on the unique circumstances of your case. The submission letter is the first document that an immigration officer will see and read in order to make a determination on your file. This letter will contain facts, argumentation, case law as well as an explanation as to why the eligibility requirements are met. If you are not using a law firm to file your application, we always recommend that you add a brief cover letter at the top of your application followed by a table of contents to make the officer's review smoother.

I have received my COPR and PRV in March 2020 and found a spelling mistake in my spouse surname and since then we have filled web form stating the surname mistake many times but not received any response like what to do next and how to proceed... So I would like to know if is there any process to follow and get the surname corrected in all the primary and secondary COPR and PRV as we have our COPR expiry in October 2020.
Also would like to know if requesting for amendment is correct (IMM1436) if so how many days will this take to get the correct documents.

My husband is not in Canada but he must declare his background and his family members even if he does not apply for PR, so his forms about background and familly and his signatures are scanned in the file. loujeine h ideally you want to have the exact date, but if you really can’t find it, indicate an approximation but accompany it with an explanatory letter
