- My A level media media production, a short five minute documentary on pike fishing in Scotland which follows Stuart Sutherland as he talks through the thrills of lure fishing for record sized pike.
Stuart runs a guided fishing service called @fishx289 where you have the chance at a fish of the same proportions as the one Stuart is lucky enough to land in the video.

What an absolute whirl wind of a 6 minutes that was!!! Firsty Stuart is probably the hardest man I've ever seen, imagine holding a 30ib Pike with one hand like that - absolute GEEZER! Secondly, what a well put together video - loved every minute of that!!

Me and a friend used to go there in the 70's, we camped on a island opposite Ardlui ,Easter time. We had so much fun in the pub easter bonit parade yards of ale 🍺and of course the fishing loads of eels and pike 28lb 4oz our best, and the sound of the class 40 train coming up the Loch I will always remember. Living in Scotland myself and been pike fishing for over 40 yrs ,,I found one thing you have to put the time and effort in ,,and you will get the rewards ,,👍
I used to always go fishing for pike in the day time . Catching fuck all. So now I always go at night time and regularly catch 30lbs +... Then I always wake up and realise it was all a dream. Like you said if you go looking for the big fish and catch 1 you truly deserve it. Savage mate

Great video and truly super pike, just wondering what cartography charts you have installed in your Humminbird Helix 9? Am thinking of getting a new fish finder but am not sure which charts you would need for Lomond.

A fish just in the bay behind where that 30 was caught we have had a few good 20s from it and a near 30 we would have had a couple of 30s if they didn't spit the hooks when they jumped

Biggest fish I have seen caught in the U.K. of any species in a loch or lake.
Sure was a beast. The largest recorded pike catch for loch Lomond is 48lbs. No doubt there is a bigger one in there somewhere though.
You need to watch more content mate. Plenty bigger.
How long was the fight?
Not that long considering the size of the fish. Maybe 4/5mins. Although the fight footage has been trimmed down as i was under time constraints with regards to length of the video.
That's actually great, as fights under 5 minutes typically result in very little stress to the pike.
But for fish stories sake, make sure it's at least a 30 minute battle when you're telling your mates at the pub.

This is lies. I have witnessed many pike being caught much bigger. In loch Awe, Lomond, Loch Ken, Loch, Arkaig. I also saw a fish going on 40lb from loch Drunkie. Huge Pike in Scotland are everwhere. They need to be handled well, treated with respect. And using Scottish Music to give an air of authenticity is pathetic.....as for boats with fishfinders....give it a rest??? fishfinders for pike is cheating and cruel.
Have a day of mate. The title of this video does not state that the fish was of record size but that he was fishing for fish of record proportions which you have made clear are present. I would suggest getting some English lessons as your are clearly a moron x

Huge pike are everywhere. Fishfinders cheating and cruel. Are you on medication? If not, you need to be.
