  • This song is from the first field recording the great polymath and folk song expert and enthusiast A.L. Lloyd made with BBC colleagues. The recording was in the Eel's Foot pub in Suffolk, England in 1938. It was released on a CD from Veteran in 2002, alongside the other songs recorded then, and in a later session. Albert "Diddy" Cook sings the verses, and the pub regulars for this session (a regular saturday occurence) join in for the chorus.
