Jeff is a beast and has a very unique approach for the rhytmic parts too...he almost does pinch harmonics when riffing...another one who does this is Shaune Kelley from Ripping Corpse and Dim Mak.
I got the Empress ParaEQ MKII Deluxe after watching that video. Now I realize he uses Master Effects products more. Oops oh well. This paraeq is really good.
Lamb!! I just acquired a Randall rg40 head from the 80s running mxr six band and eqfh into front it’s literally Dimebags sound it’s insane! Your videos were huge I. Helping me dial the tone
The day is gonna be an even better day when we get to watch you dial some @#it in. I always enjoy seeing you post up new vids to check out. I would really like to see ya doing more play throughs. 🤔Cheers from Texas!
I love all of your videos so much and was wondering, can you do Exhorder’s slaughter in the vatican or the law? both of those are amazing and underrated thrash albums imo and would love to see your process in coming up with those.
@@LambChopper678 Glad you liked it, Of the very little articles I can find they had a giant influence on pantera and the formation of groove metal 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Awesome video gonna go back to it. It would be amazing to see a similar video from you, but about tweaking an amp's eq. How to adjust the bass/mid/tre/presence/depth/master etc. A cherry on top could be how to adjust mic positions, especially when using a cab simulator. Not many videos on this out there, and from you this would be gold from some people (me included :) ).
Just used the parametric eq from my Helix in the loop of my Super Crush 100, completely changes that amp, it also improves the built in speaker emulation
Geez, thanks for playing the best period of music in my life as your demo licks! Sometimes being old is great. My Empress parametric is an essential pedal. The only ‘problem’ is that I like what it does no matter what I tweak , I wish it had presets. heh! The high gain distortion is essentially a wall of broadband noise and unless you shape it with EQ you don’t get badass metal guitar tones IMHO.
They all should give similar results. It’s how the behave when frequencies overlap that matters. I like the standard EQFH that I used in this video but it’s also what you’re used to and the taper of the pots, the layout. It all seems to work for me with this one
Excellent video, thank you! A question: How would you connect the EQ, and keep the Boss NS-2 in the FX Loop too? I'd like to have EQ in the FX Loop on DSL20HR to also use it as a Master Volume (See 2:45 ua-cam.com/video/te-Z6oC8HiM/v-deo.html ). Config. A: FX Send - EQ(In) - EQ(Out) - NS2(Return) - NS2(Output) - FX Return Config. B: FX Send - NS2(Return) - NS2(Output) - EQ(In) - EQ(Out) - FX Return Thank you!
I’m looking to get another eq for my Mesa boogies, I’m always after those Metallica tones and already have the pmeq but I want to shape my tone a little more, what master effects eq do you recommend? I’m leading towards the standard eq from hell.
So my peavey vypyr x2 doesnt have an effects loop (i dont think). There IS a midi input in the back for the proprietary peavey sanpera pedal. Im wondering if i got a midi to 1/4 adapter. Would the midi port act as "out" and "in" and act the same as an effects loop? Peavey...🙄😔😔
I had no idea a para eq can make so much difference. Thank you for this video!
Annihilator is one of the most underrated bands out there. Jeff Waters is a genius. Alison Hell is incredible. Amazing tones as usual!

That dimebag tone segment sounded killer.
Best channel on UA-cam!
Commenting before I watch. I love all your videos, but the ones where you focus on the para eq's are especial amazing. Thank you.
I bought the ME EQ after watching your Justice tones video. Amazing piece of equipment. Thank you sir 👍🏻👍🏻
I got the Empress ParaEQ MKII Deluxe after watching that video. Now I realize he uses Master Effects products more. Oops oh well. This paraeq is really good.
The empress is very good as well 👌🏻
Great video! "Mouth For War" tone was spot on!
Sounds just excellent. AJFA had a little more sparkle than what I hear here.
Love your videos mate. Thanks for pumping out really informative content.
LC always delivers the goods 🤘
Always great to learn how to shape tones, at times, just by using the equipment you have more effectively… thank you for showing the way!!!

Thanks for the video. I’m setting mine up right now.
SLIGHTLY NEW INTRO LETS GOOOOO also very informative vid keep it up
Very cool lesson!! Thanks Chop! 🤟🏻

I just had a listen, never heard them before. Loved it 🤘🏻

Love using my MXR 6 band EQ just enough to get the missing mids and a boost in the lows for that chuggy bass sound. Good video man.
I put my PMEQ behind my EQFH and I was very pleased with the tone. Not sure what it does but it sounds great !
Awesome video gonna go back to it.

thank you so much. i never understood completely how to use them
The Source Audio eq2 is nuts. 10 band + parametric + high & low pass filters.
Golden Ears 😎🍻🤘
Hi mate love the channel...
Would it be possible for you to do an Overkill 'The Years Of Decay' guitar tone video?
You're just a Good Un' Sir! The Bluegrass
Would u recommend any para-eq above others? Or can get similar results with all? 🤘🏽
that's a great question bruh

Great job!
Excellent tones. Very cool.
Ollie :)
What is the parakeet's name?
The little pineapple conure is Mango
Any idea if the EQFH differs from Guptech's pPTSD - Parametric EQ? 🤔 They seem to be identical. Only a big price difference...
do you think you could please do “For the glory of - Testament” tabs?
Ibthink i will buy one of this
I thought i saw you also had an Empress somewhere. How does it compare, mate? Cheers.
Excellent video, thank you!

Config. B: FX Send - NS2(Return) - NS2(Output) - EQ(In) - EQ(Out) - FX Return
Thank you!
Guitar into NS2 input.
NS2 send to amp in.
Fx send to Eq.
Eq out to NS2 return.
NS2 output to fx return.
Perfect

Perfect, it’s my favorite. Gets the Justice tone really close through the boogie
🤘🏽🤘🏽
Please stop making me buy gear 😂
🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Been wondering, EQ before or after a dirt pedal?
In the front end when I use it to boost I always run it after an OD
Shit, i need one of these eq pedals. Which para eq is your favorite? Most versatile?
This standard EQFH I’m using
🙂🙂🙂😀
