    As always great stuff. One issue I face during calculation is that I don't see the positions clearly in my head and that leads to dynamic mistakes and static misevaluation of positions. How do I improve on my vision some moves deep.
    Your channel is very underrated in terms of subscribers and views. Try collaborating with popular youtubers. Sagar Shah from "ChessBase India" channel brings chess players and coaches to his streams frequently. That could help your channel.

      1) Check out my video on visualization: ua-cam.com/video/B-DHvcwBG9U/v-deo.html. You can also google "Chess visualization exercises" and there are many sites (paid and free) which might help. Try a few and see which are fun and helpful.
      2) Thanks for your suggestion. I would love to collaborate but I have no idea how to do that. I don't know Sagar Shah but if we can be mutually helpful then if someone suggests me to him I would be glad to communicate (skype, email...) via danheisman.com

      @@danheismanchess once Jesse kraai was on his channel if you know him he could introduce you to Sagar Shah.
      Even Jacob Aagard is good friend of Sagar shah.
      Thanks for the recommendations on visualization.

    Folks buy his book The Improving Chess Thinker - it is a game changer.

    • @danheismanchess

      Thanks. Yes, I think it's a unique and helpful book but it means a lot more when you suggest buying it than when I do. Whenever the author touts his book everyone assumes he's just trying to make money, so that has little effect. So touting doesn't work, but it's still helpful to help publicize it to make chess players aware of its existence and use :)

    It strikes me again that, imho, Dan's chess-writing skills are so strong that his written "voice" is inimitable by a human--but maybe like Morgan Freeman explaining physics, or Michael Douglas explaining "greed." (Yet Dan's speaking voice is more like anyone's friendly, knowledgeable, neighbor. ☺)

      @danheismanchess  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks. Is it better to be a "strong" voice or a friendly, knowledgeable one? :)

      @@danheismanchess I wish I knew what the market prefers.... (It appears to value low-quality click-bait.)
      This might sound odd. For me, after first reading many of your publications, I imagined your voice as commanding--like a benevolent, tolerant, super-human. I don't know which is better.
      Unsolicited: I do believe that the volume sought (usually) in the UA-cam market requires advertising techniques that seem trivial or opportunistic.

    Isn't this same topic as the book written by Jeremy silman how to reassess your chess which talks about Imbalances and planing. Please reply 🙏😭

    • @danheismanchess
      @danheismanchess  8 місяців тому

      No, I have a different video on Introduction to imbalances: ua-cam.com/video/uA8F1VpAyo4/v-deo.html. This video (the one you are commenting on, not the one on imbalances) is about the four main criteria used to evaluate positions and determine the three questions: Who stands better, how much, and why.

    Dan, I was wondering which is better to have in an endgame, A King, Knight and Bishop or a King, and two knights?

    • @danheismanchess
      @danheismanchess  3 роки тому +1

      Frank, thanks for asking. There's no right answer for that which would apply almost all the time. I hate to rely on the old "depends on the position" but it does. Obviously a bishop generally has more scope in the endgame where the board is more open so likely B&N in somewhat more positions than 2N. Of course, if there are no pawns, then a KNB vs K can mate while a KNN vs K cannot, but I assume you meant in general.

    Hi, Dan.
    I just wanna say to you that I participated in a classical chess tournament after a 2-year break, and I was superconfident against players with 600 elo points more than me. Of course, I spoiled some games, but, as a second-category player, I've fought and I came back fearless against all first-category players, except one.
    For the first time, I played chess with a relaxed rhythm. I mean, I'm starting to think that chess can be treated as an easy game - especially till 1900 elo points, and I had made it difficult for me with complicated books and webinars, way above my level.
    Your UA-cam videos helped me a lot, and, thanks to you, I strived to keep an organized thought process. I've just bought "Elements of Positional Evaluation" on Forward Chess, to cover some personal "holes". After it, I wanna buy "The World's Most Instructive Amateur Game Book". Should I choose another one?

      Alex, thanks for writing and glad to help. I am not sure of your exact level and needs, but I think The World's Most Instructive Amateur Game book is one of my best, and should be helpful for almost any level below 2100 (if not above).
