Qantas 747 ROLLS ROYCE RB211 Takeoff from Melbourne Airport
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 сер 2024
- Originally rumoured to be phased out at the end of this year and mid 2017 it's an absolute pleasure and delight to still see these beautiful birds flying. The non ER variant is set to be retired by 2020. It'll gradually be replaced by the brand new Boeing 787-9's set for delivery late 2017.
For anyone wondering why I faded out the plane passing, I did so because I am unable to pan with my tripod that quickly as it was a very late rotation. Have a nice day.

The best airliner engine award goes to RB211 🥇 and the JT9D 🥈proceeding with the IAE V2500 🥉 to add a comment for this video , that bird took of like the Queen of the Skies!!
i agree
Nice footage of the Queen, it will be sad when these beauties are gone. Great shot!
By far my favourite engine the rb211
Sheeesh thats loud, one 757 is loud enough, couldn’t imagine two! Wonderful sounding
Can't beat a RB211! Awesome video.
Amazing video again man! Huge like!! The RB211s on these 744s sound brilliant and its great news that Qantas will be keeping these RR powered birds for a few years longer.
Thanks a lot bro. They are sooo lovely to hear and just listen to peacefully. It's a shame we don't see more.
Fantastic shot mate! Liked!
Love that power! :D Fantastic video, mate!
Thanks Mylos! Isn't it just fantastic =)
Such a beauty! Great footage, buddy! Loved it!

Thank you :)
I thought that the RR engine versions were out of business.Queen looks sensational.Beautiful capture
Only a few left in the world mate. Luckily we have a few QF ones =)
Love this! Awesome Video!
Thanks so much!
What a stunning sound, awesome!
It's AMAZING! Thnx for watching!
WOW! Absolutely amazing engine sound! Lovely video!
Thanks Rotate!
sounds amazing! great video mate!
Thanks so much =)
The combination with the 80 speed limit sign is good :) Splendid takeoff video!
You are a good spotter :P I didn't even notice that. Maybe because its second nature to me LOL
Beautiful!
تصوير رائـع 👍
Great view and sound!
Thanks 99carnot!
Beautiful!!
It sure is Lani!
Amazing close-up takeoff DJ ! :)
Cheers dude!
I love the sound! It just makes me happy! Nice catch!
Indeed mate, its one of a kind! Thanks =)
Awesome catch mate! Sad seeing these birds go by probably 2020-7
Thanks =) Yeh the ER's will be the last to go.
Listening to the 747 really brings back memories from when Iran Air flew to Auckland (sadly this was before I took a real interest in Aviation so I've only got the images in my mind) using a 747, such a shame we have to say goodbye to the 747.
It sure does mate. Flying with Iran Air must've been good =)
Great sound and nice rotation!!! Sad that they have to go soon..
Thanks spottertech. Seriously got to catch them when you can!
Awesome catch mate !
Thanks Hong Kong!
Amazing video
Thanks William!
WHAT A ROAR!!!!!!
By far my favorite engine option on the 744! Huge like :)!
Completely agree! Nothing beats the RB211's!
Awesome catch mate!!!!!!!!!
Why thank you Jones!
Very nice catch mate!!
Cheers bro =)
There she is, a beauty to adore!! Sadly a dying breed of planes, twin engined jets are the way of the future. Hopefully Boeing would never cease production of the 747. Outstanding catch though!! ;) :)
Thank you so much for watching. I am really going to miss seeing quad jets. We only will have C-17's etc. I think unless they can make a drastic change to their design/fuel etc we won't see another quad jet again.
Really good video mate, nice catch!
Thanks Fin!
great video
Thanks a lot JJW!
nice catch mate!
Thanks so much dude!
Amazing video, this perspective is so impressive! Huge like! :)
Thanks CSpotting, only down side is it's physcially impossible to continue to track it as it means you need to move nearly 180 degrees in like 4 seconds.
Nice,So Awesome
Thanks a lot matey!
great video ;)
Thanks DragonFlyer!
great video liked!
Thnx mate!
Soon they'll retire :(
Awesome video mate :)
Yes mate, very sad indeed. Thnx!
That sound makes me super excited Everytime I hear it :) out of curiosity I hope I can see a RR QF 744 when I'm in Sydney next year in March. Super beautiful video liked big-time
Haha agreed! There's a slight chance you will be able to. Sydney is like the hub of QF 744's so it really just depends on the aircrafts route. Sometimes the same aircraft can stay operating the same route like MEL to Hong Kong for at least 1 week.
I would love to fly a
QF 747 before they go
Great takeoff to be honest I like the ER's better cause I love there GE CF6's but the Rolls Royce's are good but just love GE's unique sound but anyway great camera quality and a massive like
Sure was! They are both just as good in my opinion.
😍so awesome dj
Cheers Ian!
Nice video ,like it ! :)
Thanks so much matey.
It sounds like thr classic 747 that has a Pratt and Whitney jt9d engines
Awesome video mate!!! Sound is like no other! Little thing I want to say: It's a shame you have to fade during the take off because of your tripod. Try different tripod settings.
Thanks, the sound is really unique. As I replied to another comment adjusting the tripod settings does not help from this spot. You are required to walk around your tripod within 2 seconds at the most while maintaining stability and focus on the aircraft. With my style of filming (Up-close) this is literally impossible. Hence why I track the plane for as long as I can while it being as stable as possible. I then stop recording and quickly run around the tripod to get the shot as it flies off. If there was no fade all you would hear would be the engine noise which is a positive but there would be no plane and you'd just see shakes.
Incredible plane! Wish they didn't have to leave...
Thanks my friend. I wish they didn't as well. It's also a lot of fun spotting the 747's especially with the RB211's
BYE GUAPALUPE! VALLE! AND HALEY VALLE!!!!
It sounds like the 737 800
It will be very very sad day in aviation when the last 747-400 PAX version retires. I love them :( BAW, KLM, Lufthansa they have them too and I think it is to 2025 - 2030 and this is the end. I think that KLM will retire them within next two years (all of them) and replace them by 787.
Very sad my friend. I believe the non ER's will disappear sooner and the ER variants will go to 2025-2030 as you said.
