    I used to have our blades seize up like that a few times. I 've tried antiseize but, it never worked for me. I used a 1/2" drive breaker bar with a 4 ft cheater pipe. I got somebody to hold a piece wood to chock the blade while I pulled on the breaker bar and pipe. Ive got 3 settings on my 18v 1/2" impact . I loosen the blades on 3rd setting but, tighten it on 2. I haven't had any problems since I've been doing it like that🤷‍♂️

      Thanks! If I knew it was that easy by grinding it off I would have done that awhile ago. I thought it was going to be a pain but it was pretty quick and easy. Thanks for watching!

    The heat & quench method has never failed me in loosening stubborn bolts or nuts, i.e., heat with torch, then spray WD-40 on it, impact it off, the heat then sudden cooling then impact will get it off.

    Air chisel is what I use. Usually always breaks them loose.just use the chisel on the bolt head.shocks them loose. search the torque specs in the manual.it will also state is anti seize is ok to use.which I disagree with. Tires are so overpriced! Hope you guys are doing well! Gie hopefully be on this year

    Carl, I’m thinking you have a oil leak on the other side there. I would check it

      I’ll look better after I clean it. It is my first mower so it has almost 1000 hrs on it. Believe it or not they were the original tires.

      You're actually supposed to use a torque wrench when putting on mlower blades. It will make a sound for the desired pounds you want.

    Next time when you remove the bolts from the bottom of the deck add grease onto the Bolt

    U gotta hydraulic or oil leak somewhere is the reason all that dirts cakes up on there like that better keep all your fluids checked. Id say its a hydraulic leak. Ive seen that hundreds of times build up dirt like that and it be a hydraulic leaking. If your gonna run ferris mowers get use to having trouble with the bolts they're just as bad as gravely. They need to put spindles on like exmark and get ride of that problem.

    Cutting that bolt actually got it really hot, which in turn probably helped free it up. Check the torque specs for the blades. Grab a torque wrench from Harbour Freight. Torque them to spec and you should be good. Glad you finally got it off.

    • @happysfamilywnc
      @happysfamilywnc  3 роки тому

      Yeah as soon as grinned one corner of the bolt off you actually seen the blade come loose and the bolt just unscrewed. For the past 11 years I have been putting the blades on and tightening them by hand and never had a problem. The dealer put that blade on so maybe they torqued it too much. Thanks for watching!

    I use heat also but if I don't have heat too,use a four foot cheater back vtoo to loosen those blade bolts too...I also used a three quqater inch gun in some cases too now...

    May I make a suggestion? Get s100 cleaner, it's a motorcycle cleaner I've been impressed with it cleaning my mower. It takes the grime right off and makes it look new. Also underneath your deck clean it up real good and spray 2 coats of armor all. By the way that bird you thought was a cardinal is a robin. They got those rust colored chest. and they're real popular in the Southeast around start of spring

      @@happysfamilywnc after looking at your deck again you might want to put another coating of paint some kind of tough paint because it look like it's starting to rust a little bit. Then after the two coats of paint then use the armor all

    Hey Carl- what would u do if u cut bolt head and when u impact it the bolt head broke off?

    • @happysfamilywnc
      @happysfamilywnc  3 роки тому

      I was hoping the impact would have broke it free but I did have to grind the whole thing off. If the stud got stuck I’d have to drill it out. As soon as I made the cut it broke free.

    Man! If I would have gone all season without swapping the blade,they wouldn't have anything left of that thing. The sandy soil conditions down here would have sandblasted that thing right off 😆

    • @happysfamilywnc
      @happysfamilywnc  3 роки тому

      Yea we saw blades of grass and thought wow! One set could definitely last us a whole season with me sharpening and if we don’t hit anything maybe longer. Crazy how different conditions cause different wear.

    Check that for a oil leak. Dirt will stick were there's a leak.

  • @chrischris1782
    @chrischris1782 3 роки тому

    what happens is if the blade is not really tight to begin with, the first time it hits something it will tighten it way beyond what you can break free. don’t be afraid to hit them good with the impact when purring them back on.
