serie is like that in many ways. She doesn't like the flower magic but uses it here during the interview. She doesn't like suppressing magic, but uses it herself. She doesn't want the country to be full of human magicians but she founds the magic order and gives every class 1 magician a spell. She is not interested in the private lives of her students, but knows almost everything about it.
Also Fern, she hesitate to said yes when Richter ask her if she is Frieren student, and at the end of episode she said it proudly that she is Frieren apprentice
Go back to episode 2 and see Himmel's face when Frieren cast the flower field magic. its full of nostalgia, because this is not the 1st time he sees this magic. The writers subtlety hinted to us that he has seen this before. This is a peak level story writing!

It was literally explained in the episode that fluctuations is something that happens when someone is SUPPRESSING their mana, Frieren fans just can't accept the FACT that Serie is the STRONGEST and are always coming up with excuses that makes no sense at ALL lol.
The anime added a contrast in that: when Fern was upset with Frieren earlier on, when Richter asked her whether she was Frieren's student she was silent and Stark had to answer for her. After Frieren fixed her staff she realized that Frieren really cared for her and that led to her saying loud and proud to Serie that she's Frieren's student.
Serie is not wrong to not pass Frieren since Serie is the head of the Magic Association. Being a Class 1 Mage isn't just a title, you are expected to serve under the association. Frieren has no drive to really do much of anything else, even as strong as she is. Frieren not only does not imagine Serie passing her, but she actually has no interest or drive to be better or to be a Class 1 Mage. Also not sure if you noticed, but Serie's mana that she was pouring out was mentioned by Lernen to be the same as Frieren's, but Serie's viewable mana was actually her suppressed mana meaning she has much more mana than Frieren. That was what she was disappointed about with Lernen, Lernen could see Frieren's fluctuations but not hers and he was already old. Fern would've failed if not for the fact she saw Serie's mana fluctuation, as Fern also has no drive to do much else either as Fern said so herself that she burned out already. Serie is only looking for power and strength and even though Fern lacks the drive, Serie knows that Fern is too promising to not pass. Heck, putting Fern in a Class 1 mage position could push her to do stuff at the very least to not waste Fern's potential as Serie prob thought. Class 1 Mage is similar to a job title like Homeland Security, you get huge benefits and privilege's, but you are expected to serve your country.
You are right. But she wasn't disappointed in Lernen because he couldn't detect her mana fluctuations Serie was disappointed because Lernen would die soon even though he had so much potential left in him.Serie wants her students to reach her level but they just die of old age.Thats why she was disappointed in taking human apprentice.
Huh? Serei's reason for wanting Fern is explicitly stated. Nothing to do w the association. To Serei the association is a means to an end (she herself doesn't realize how much it means to her really.) Serei wants to push magic to greater heights, and she views strength as what heights mean (a foil to Frerien's view of magic.) She wants Fern bc she believes Fern can become to the strongest mage ever.
Now that we've seen the flashback with Kid Himmel and the flowers, we have context for the flower flashback in Episode 2, where Himmel has a different reaction from Heiter and Eisen when Frieren casts the spell. Because now we know it's not the first time he saw her cast it.
Another thing which bolsters your argument that Serie is just putting up a front: She made that whole comment about how suppressing your mana is a useless waste of effort, and yet Serie is shown to be constantly suppressing her mana just like Frieren. Serie was frustrated that her human student of 50 years never noticed it in all of those 50 years. But Fern noticed it immediately, which is why she was so impressed by Fern.
I don’t think she said it was a waste of effort, just an inefficient “waste of time” since she even said the skill itself is valuable, but just training that alone is not effective at getting you the best results and is a bad use of time to only focus on suppression since it takes over 2-3 centuries even to start fooling demons”. Frieren maxed out suppression and neglected other skills, while serie took her time to learn it along with other more effective combat spells and developed more evenly over her life. That’s why she said Frieren was relatively unskilled for her age.
@@VirtuousWandererhe probably thinks too highly of her to think someone of her position would ever do it meanwhile fern went in with no expectation and saw it immediately
@@dankerbell Exactly, if Lernen could tell that Frieren was doing it at a glance, there's no way he shouldn't be able to see Serie is doing it too in 50 years. Unless it's all psychological. He obviously greatly admires Serie and is very meek with her, he can't see it not because he lacks the skill to see it but because Lernen can't imagine Serie ever doing something like that.
@@giantWarioserie obviously doesn't care. She's like a mother disappointed in her talented child dying soon. That's all. She never cared about the Mana suppression
3:26 - Head pats can be polarizing. Ages ago my first girlfriend, after a hard day, just flumped on me while I was on the couch and said, "Cuddle me! Pet my head!". My wife, on the other hand, yells at me that, "I'm not a dog!" whenever I try it. You have to be careful.
Thats one of the things that I will never understand about people. Maybe you think its a silly or demeaning thing, but maybe whoever is doing the action (could be anything really) might just not know what else they could do to make the situation better. That said, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I think that maybe before thinking the worst, assume that the other person is just trying to help in their own special way.
Never take the words of Serie at Face value... She said that she hates the spell of flowers that came from Flamme...yet she sits on the field of flowers... She says that does not remember the favourite spells of her students... Yet she remembers the intricate details of each and every one of them... Serie is a Tsundere of Godly proportions...
That flashback with Frieren showing the flower magic to a younger Himmel felt so surreal and dreamlike yet so full of meaning cause it indicated how much he meant to her. Filled me with a lot of emotions there, ngl ❤❤🥺

@@jervisangelopitao7118Are you sure? Because from what I have seen, they are one of the very few people who actually understand the story, have a healthy discussion after every episode.
I know it's just a joke on your part, but I believe the idea was that if it's impossible to repair then at the very least the staff can be burned down, placed in a vial or other container and worn as a necklace as a memento of Heiter instead of just throwing it out.
At a very young age, Himmel saw the beauty of flowers and the magic that could light up the night with them. Is it any wonder that a village boy who wanted to be a hero would take the time to learn the language of flowers, especially the ones who were linked to love.
One thing I really loved about this episode, and the next, is when Frieren mentions that Serie's intuition is always right. It's actually magical how powerful her intuition is, it's as if she can read your mind. She explained perfectly why Kanne wasn't ready, as she peeked into her psyche. The only person she couldn't immediately read was Fern.
Kanne stopped quite a distance from Serie. And from Fern's POV, you see that the spot is right about where Serie's aura ended. She's failing people who can't step past that wall.
The thing about Ubel's imagination is just like Sense said a superpower, just imagining you can cut something isnt going to work since that thing is protected by layers of defensive spells, that was the point of the conversation between Ubel and Sense
Frieren not passing the Class 1 Mage exam is like Saitama being a Class C hero. They only tried to get the certification for a certain reason, but they don't actually care. And it says nothing about their power/strength compares to others.
Denken you absolute menace. Taking all the stuff out didn't buy anything and leave Also I love that you guys are anticipating a heartwarming moment but Frieren just dead sleep. Drooling too🤣
Is that canon? I saw the pile as a depiction of how awkward Denken is. He never meant to buy anything - he dropped by just to make sure Richter was okay and encourage him not to give up. But the man is so emotionally awkward he paced back and forth trying to get the words out, leaving an extra book on the counter each time he worked up the nerve and then...didn't.
@@vieronna I mean you can literally see him stacking them neatly on a pile and putting the jar on top. It's still there in the shot when Frieren shows up too.
As Seerie left the chamber, she stated that if Lernen (her old human student) and Frieren were to fight, he would have won. For a human who's lived a nere fraction of the life that Frieren has to even stand on the same level as her is MADNESSS!! Dont sleep on my mans Lernen😤
It feels like you missed a lot of important details😂 idk tho...btw the old man talking to Stark at the beginning is just a troll...Stark isn't cooking anything lol
This episode still shows how much Frieren is trying but still has a ways to go when she was talking to Richter about the staff being trash because she said it wasn't trash, but then was like, "Probably". Some really heartwarming scenes. She's pretty brutal to Lernan and it might be because even if Lernan did see the fluxuations in Serie's mana he didn't have the guts to say anything.
I think visualization is more than just manifestation. Ubel did not cut Sense because she manifested it. Ubel simply saw hair and "why not cut it?". She visualized hair so there was no reason her magic won't work. Serie on visualization is also the same. If you can't perceive something as possible, how can you achieve the impossible? Ubel not being able to cut the basic defensive spell is because basic defensive spell is meant to block magic, as she said. Ubel sees it as a shield for magic so of course, her magic can't cut it. Still, it's a visualization thing. In contrary, she saw the magic robe as "just a robe", so she did not have any trouble cutting it despite the layers of defensive magic in it.
I think they missed the whole Lernen/Demon King part because they talked through the scene and didn't look at the subs. I'm not sure but they didn't react to fact that Lernen was the first one (besides the Demon King) who could see that Frieren surpresses here Mana and that he could possibly defeat Frieren. They should really pause during that scenes.
Noo. It’s not because Serie wants to check fern’s loyalty, but because shes the only one who can see the instability on her mana that even her student missed to notice.
I'm wondering if Frieren's character arc of smelling the flowers alongside relatively short-lived mortals and Himmel's/Frieren's/Serie'/Flamme's love for flowers/field of flowers magic is a deliberate choice to portray that life may be ephemeral, but there's beauty in it even if it's just in memory.
Ange Read Serie like an open book,,, and from a couple of episodes ago! I know he was going to enjor the next episode regarding what he said about the flowers XD
Serie is still mourning Flamme's death T_T so which is also why she has very high expectations from Frieren, and thus failing her, and the flower garden really proves she really loves Flamme, because the Magic Association was something Flamme established, so honouring her by planting all the flowers and she's also interviewing them by sitting by Flammes favorite flowers.
Denken is a real MVP for this arc of the show. He has really charmed me as a character and next episode he totally became one of my favourite outside the main crew.
the Carlie and Ange I knew would back then, this was probably the sleeper series they had to go through before bed. If you see they really missed out on dialogues, and people in the comments have pointed it out. Yeah this was quite an emotional episode after so many fighting the last few episodes, a lot of foreshadowing and good tie from previous flashbacks but they couldn't be bothered, just like when they never stopped and Ange completely missed out dialogues. Yeah, they're not those reactors anymore, or, this series don't necessarily don't deserve that attention from them.
@whynotruss we went back and watched our reaction to this episode and there is literally nothing important that we missed. We dont include the ENTIRE episode reaction on UA-cam, nor do we comment on EVERY SUBTITLE. Stop making assumptions that this was a “sleeper series they had to go through before bed”. You’re obviously the one not paying attention because you’d have seen that we adored this series from start to finish, picking up all of the important story beats and symbolism along the way. “The Carlie and Ange you knew back then” were the exact same except less loud and more camera shy. We still missed some subtitles here and there.
Think of Serie as a benevolent Sukuna (conceited and mean-spirited). She is the undisputed monarch of mages who ideology is might makes right and progress enforced through hardship and combat which is why she never bothered with the demon king - it was a necessary evil for a us vs them sense of unity for the humans to get stronger. What I absolutely adore about Frieren is that it portrays an alternative outlook to the bleak cycle of violence and unity against ultimate adversary proposed by shows such as Attack on Titan. It’s the simple acts of kindness that brings people together (the flowerbed spell united the party of heroes) and collective learning (Frieren and Serie teaching magic) that progresses instead of an ever growing threat.
Wasn't Serie's problem that she wanted the Demon King gone, but could not imagine a world that did not contain the Demon King? In Serie's belief system, the Great Foe To Be Overcome is an inherent part of the universe, without him the world straight up doesn't make sense. To Frieren, he's just a very unpleasant dipshit nobody needs.
Ubel is literally just crazy lol, Sense basically said that magic wants you to visual something to make it happen but a regular person can't just picture them doing the impossible because they start to think logically but Ubel doesnt. She just thinks "oh yeah, i can do that"
The thing is ... Serie will never pass Frieren because Magic for her is about enjoyment whereas for Serie it's all about power. Flamme before she died told Frieren that she only taught her(Frieren) Magic for war and combat which implied that it was a waste of time. She had the complete opposite view of magic from her Master Serie. That's why she shared her favorite magicspell which was making flowerbeds that her parents taught her and Frieren asked for it as well Serie does care for her proteges but she will always be disappointed in them as well 😂 if Frieren had bloodlust, then she wouldve been everything that Serie wanted in a pupil 😂
I think you guys are getting so caught up chatting and this, missing relevant portions of the episodes plot. Hopefully you get time to give a little re-watch afterwards
well to be fair they couldn't have done the interview first since it wasn't even planned, it would've been a third test proctored by Lernen, Serie decided on this to avoid some of the weaker mages dying, pretty considerate of her, even tho she sounds harsh, she seems really kind to me. She also decided to grant Flamme's will after a whole thousand years of thinking :D She just failed Frieren to message her to keep training, but only because she knows that the title is worthless to Frieren, meanwhile the title is valuable to humans, so she passes them regardless if they are talented.
I think it looks like that with editing but they haven't missed much. They comment on a lot of things other channels have totally missed and have only missed a few details that I didn't even catch until a second watch through. They just don't comment on every little detail.
@@CarlieAndAngeI’m late but possibly The Lernen and demon king comparisons? Maybe I don’t know but I would say you guys talked over quite a lot during Frieren reactions, missed some cool dialogue. Just a critic though, I love you guys overall
Serie was not really disappointed with her apprentice, but felt pity that humans only had a short life. 😢 In Serie's eyes, Lernen is capable and has a chance to defeat Frieren. Her innermost thoughts were to marvel at how Lernen was able to take what he had learned to such a high level in his short life. Serie is akin to a person who delights in watching fireworks, simultaneously admiring their beauty while lamenting their transience.🎇
And then to see Fern touching upon that level at such a young age got her excited again that if she trained Fern she might see her reach that height she wanted all the others to reach but they failed to do so before becoming old.
The normal 3rd exam would have killed at least half of the 2nd exam passers because they weren't skilled enough, that's why Serie decided to do an interview instead.
So while I would say I am "with Fern" in regards to her feeling attached to her staff, I am never on the side of the individual that acts on emotional impulse in such situations. While her attachment to the staff is understandable, she can not just expect that everyone around her would be aware of this attachment just because they have enough knowledge of her to potentially piece that together themselves. Even for super conscientious people stuff like this can be and often is over looked until brought up directly. As is highlighted by her actions after Fern gets all upset at her, Frieren does end up understanding and in the end does a great thing. Fern's attachment isn't wrong but her reaction to Frierens words absolutely were wrong.
From what it looks like, it seems fern did tell her & wanted the pieces but frieren still took it from her to go throw it out.. if i ask for the pieces & u still say “nah imma throw it away” then shes buggin & then the reaction is still understandable
I think for serie magic is just a tool She doesnt care about the loyalty fern had but her potential She was one of a select few that has ever seen the fluctuations of her magic aura
The interview is happening BECAUSE there’s too many participant passing the 1st 2 exam. And because Frieren literally carrying a lot of them even tho they probably not strong enough to be 1st class mage, Serie said a normal 3rd exam would kill most of them. The interview is an impromptu exam. As she is Serie is better than Genau since he doesnt really care if participant die.
Serie is not The Goddess or a goddess, she is just a really old elf. And her being a tsundere is pretty obvious and its the most obvious when Flamme died, idk why you guys are upset and thought she lost the plot
You seem to be in the same boat as a lot of others. And these criticisms seem to come mainly from our Frieren videos. What exactly did we miss that was so important?
I know everyone bashes Serie for not passing Frieren. But Frieren regardless of how strong she is, is way too casual and doesn't hone have that drive and also bcoz if Frieren actually had that ambition she could literally surpass Serie and become equivalent to an absolute being and that's why Serie won't pass her. At the end of the day passing Frieren doenst matter bcoz even if she did pass her, after a couple century or so that certificate will be useless anyways. But what's important is that like Serie said Frieren has no ambition. I know Ange watches football/soccer. Frieren is basically the Neymar of this universe. One who has so much gift but won't utilise that full potential and drive. Is she strong and talented? Hell yes. But is she at the level where she should actually be? Unfortunately No. Frieren could very well be the strongest creature but she has stopped progressing and is slacking. And that's what Serie is disappointed about her.
I think you shouldn't take serie's words ,first as bro said she calls the flower spell useless yet she is in a place full of it then she said i should not take human student yet again ask fren to be one also she is more sad because her student die soon and i was writing this comment while watching and just when i was about to finish you guys mention all so mine is kinda wasted but since i wrote a long one ,i am posting it anyway.
Serie is pure contradiction. "Training humans is a waste of time and a disappointment", then trains 4 Humans and remenbers their favorite spells (and tries to train Fern). Doesen´t like Flammes idea to create a magic Assosciation, then founds a magic association. Doesen´t Like Mana supression, but does it. Every sentence of Series, is a contradiction, even when mocking someone, she praises them. That may even be the reason Frieren and Serie don´t like each other. Frieren is a contradiction in itself. "A mage of a peacefull era", who defeated the Demon Lord whilst being "fairly unskilled for her age". The "useless spells" in Frierens repertoir allow her to connect to the strongest allies and defeat the most powerfull of foes. This is a contradiction Serie can´t fathom.
A couple of things to note here. This is a long comment so sorry about that. First of all let's address the visualization thing and Ubel from last episode. Ubel's visualization is not exactly a talent as much as it is a mental disorder really. Consider this, when you see cloth for the first time you see it as a simple fabric. Whether that cloth is thick or thin, it is still cloth and you assume it can be cut right? Now, imagine that that cloth is reinforced with carbon fibers or even thin metal rings. What would happen then? You identify the reinforcement and you know intellectually that this isn't just a simple piece of cloth anymore. It isn't something that can be cut with a pair of scissors and you will search for another way to bypass the new armor. That is the logical thing to do, that is what been able to identify a difference in a previous concept leads to. No matter the imagination you might have, there is no way a person would gaslight themselves in believing that a pair of scissors would be able to cut reinforced steel. That is what bewildered Sense. Ubel is doing exactly that. She knew that the cloak in front of her was tank level armor, she knew that anything she threw at it would do nothing to it, yet, she actually believed that what she saw in front of her was not reality and that it was a simple piece of fabric! I mean who does that? Even idiots that do the same attack again and again against a fortified position believe that the attack will eventually work because the previous attacks did some damage, not because they actually believe that the new attack will actually work on its own. Ubel literary has programmed in her soul a belief that if something is cloth or hair as a general concept, then that something can be cut period! It's not something that can be taught, its not that I will convince myself that I can do something. She actually perceives this as reality no matter that it objectively is not. And she actually knows it is not in an intellectual level. That is why Sense is horrified and calls her crazy and her ability a superpower. Because it is actually something that IS crazy and Ubel IS crazy. And that is where the limitation of her power comes from. She can cut anything she has identified as something that can be cut since she was a child. Meaning cloth, hair, flesh etc. She can't cut cleanly stone, steel or wood or anything else like that. Her attacks might do some damage, but those attacks would do as much damage as the force behind the attack, it will not bypass it completely like it would do to cloth or hair. But defensive spells such as the one used in the series is another thing entirely. The defensive spell used is a mana construct that its entire purpose is to block completely mana based attacks such as her signature spell. She learned this to be the truth when she first learned the spell and grew with that concept as an absolute truth and reality. She never had any other influence about this, so she can't convince herself that her attacks can actually bypass this defense which is why Wirbel managed to defeat her. Her attacks were blocked and he is overall a better fighter with far more experience and talent likes she herself admitted. As for Fern, while she is an impressive mage and will certainly grow even stronger with time and experience, she in not ready to face Frieren alone anytime soon. The episode cemented the fact that Fern could not face Frieren, she acted as an assassin the entire battle, waiting for the perfect opening in order to exploit it. The clone was focused on Frieren for the entire battle, and we were told in the episode by Frieren herself that some of the openings she created for Fern to exploit, Fern was not able to recognize and use, meaning that Fern is still lacking both in experience, skill and sheer strength. While she does have the potential to grow enough for her to defeat Frieren in the end, that is still many years down the road if it is even possible. In her current state, I would place her under Denken, Wirbel and Methode since I believe all three of them could win against her in a one on one battle. Denken because of his experience and knowledge. Wirbel because of his battle experience, versatility and his signature spell Sorganeil. Fern is a long range mage and does not know a lot about his magic, so it would be easy for him to place her in a position that he can see her whole body and trap her. And finally Methode is extremely versatile and has restrain magic that we were shown to be extremely effective against Fern, and it is implied in the episode that she defeated Fern's clone in a one on one battle already. As for Serie, well, in this episode we see why Serie is considered the being that is the closest to the Goddess. The mana that you saw her release in the episode is comparable or even bigger than Frieren's released mana capacity we saw in the Aura confrontation. And the mana she releases is confirmed by Serie and Fern that is suppressed. Now, consider this, Flamme was taught by Serie since she was a child, meaning that the mana suppression technic they use was taught to her by Serie, and Flamme taught Frieren to suppress her mana to 1/10th always. So, in sort, Serie's suppressed mana, which equals Frieren's released mana, is 1/10th of Serie's total mana. That is insane to think about and confirms that Serie is ancient as hell considering that the mana capacity of a mage grows with age and training. And yes, Serie is a tsudere. I would go in more details but the comment is long enough as it is.
Except it is stated several times that nobody really knows what the heck that thing is. The exception being Lernin, and Serie. And I really doubt that it would suddenly start meaning something especially since Serie REALLY seems to have a petty streak when it comes to Freiren.

Well said
You are right. But she wasn't disappointed in Lernen because he couldn't detect her mana fluctuations Serie was disappointed because Lernen would die soon even though he had so much potential left in him.Serie wants her students to reach her level but they just die of old age.Thats why she was disappointed in taking human apprentice.
“Serie’s intuition is always correct.”
@@harbhajanroy5961this. Serie is a deceptively tragic character
Fern: "This staff means a lot to me." Carlie: "You should incinerate it." :D
Carlie wants Fern to get that $999.99 DLC upgrade package and battle pass 🤣
It could also be assumed that Lernin (Serie's student) flat out didnt know that was a thing that she would be doing or smthn
Carlie was ready to turn that staff into a pack of cigars and smoke them.
"odd way of flirting" 🤣
Ange was not paying attentuon when Zerie said fail to Kanne😂
I saw her Fail. Just didnt really comment on it
That’s fair. I don’t think anyone really expected her to pass anyway
Did anyone think she'll pass...? Bc honestly I didn't see her as Class 1 Mage worthy.
@@SomeOne-wr1wrno she's literally useless when there's no water 💀 serie was keeping her safe, plus her and lawinne belong together anyway so they can retake together

Because from what I have seen, they are one of the very few people who actually understand the story, have a healthy discussion after every episode.
@@I_am_doomed ikik, but they have their moments
And (minor spoilers for next episode, I guess?)
Methode. She has to straight-out ask her "What did you think when you saw me?"
A little late here, but I’ve never seen Ange get a character and be so on point on them in a show before. Serie is the ultimate tsundere
Carlie's never beating the "replace Fern's staff" allegations
The thing about Ubel's imagination is just like Sense said a superpower, just imagining you can cut something isnt going to work since that thing is protected by layers of defensive spells, that was the point of the conversation between Ubel and Sense
Frieren not passing the Class 1 Mage exam is like Saitama being a Class C hero. They only tried to get the certification for a certain reason, but they don't actually care. And it says nothing about their power/strength compares to others.
Yeah Frieren needing the first class status would be the same as her needing Serie's approval, and their whole conversation shows how untrue that is.
Denken you absolute menace. Taking all the stuff out didn't buy anything and leave
Also I love that you guys are anticipating a heartwarming moment but Frieren just dead sleep. Drooling too🤣
It's for a reason. He is actually helping Richter pass the next time he takes the test.
I imagine he was picking out stuff that Richter should read up on to get better as a mage. He was deliberately picking things and stacking them.
@@arvinsimfr? Is it in the manga?

Long journey with this anime❤ Can’t wait another anime”the apothecary diaries”❤
another beautiful and wholesome episode
The 'Manifestation' thingy is even better hinted in next episode, very interesting topic to think about too
If you think about last episode, frieren is a cruel sensei. She never told her what she could do in let her get crushed by her clone 😂😂
"I see you are -"
"Dumbledore's man through and through," said Harry. "That's right."
Sick riff there man 👏
Ange Read Serie like an open book,,, and from a couple of episodes ago!
I think you missed my favorite joke in the series with the old man that "teaches" Stark, im sad
they forgot he was in a previous episode :') and thought he was actually training
it was so funny, i wish they caught it
Great reaction!
Denken is a real MVP for this arc of the show. He has really charmed me as a character and next episode he totally became one of my favourite outside the main crew.
Honestly surprised they didn't comment on Serie saying Lernen could beat Frieren
the Carlie and Ange I knew would back then, this was probably the sleeper series they had to go through before bed.
And here we are.. miss a lot of details again... And cuts the important dialogues.
And what?! "daddy"?!! what the hell the girl talking about??
4:35 😂😂😂😂 I can't HAHAHAHHAHAHA
Theory: Himmel's love of flowers came from Frieren's flower spell magic.
We’re only one ep left 😢 can’t wait for the ep finale.
a "useless " spell put together the peopple that safe the world from demon king
Ubel is literally just crazy lol, Sense basically said that magic wants you to visual something to make it happen but a regular person can't just picture them doing the impossible because they start to think logically but Ubel doesnt. She just thinks "oh yeah, i can do that"
The thing is ... Serie will never pass Frieren because Magic for her is about enjoyment whereas for Serie it's all about power. Flamme before she died told Frieren that she only taught her(Frieren) Magic for war and combat which implied that it was a waste of time. She had the complete opposite view of magic from her Master Serie. That's why she shared her favorite magicspell which was making flowerbeds that her parents taught her and Frieren asked for it as well
Serie does care for her proteges but she will always be disappointed in them as well 😂 if Frieren had bloodlust, then she wouldve been everything that Serie wanted in a pupil 😂
I think you guys are getting so caught up chatting and this, missing relevant portions of the episodes plot.

Lez be honest, the ice and water makes are a peak ship.
well to be fair they couldn't have done the interview first since it wasn't even planned, it would've been a third test proctored by Lernen, Serie decided on this to avoid some of the weaker mages dying, pretty considerate of her, even tho she sounds harsh, she seems really kind to me. She also decided to grant Flamme's will after a whole thousand years of thinking :D
She just failed Frieren to message her to keep training, but only because she knows that the title is worthless to Frieren, meanwhile the title is valuable to humans, so she passes them regardless if they are talented.

Serie was not really disappointed with her apprentice, but felt pity that humans only had a short life. 😢
In Serie's eyes, Lernen is capable and has a chance to defeat Frieren.
Do I see "The Apothecary Diaries" on your list of shows?? Can't wait!
The normal 3rd exam would have killed at least half of the 2nd exam passers because they weren't skilled enough, that's why Serie decided to do an interview instead.
I think only Frieren and the guys clones would survive xd
What’s the next series after frieren???
I think for serie magic is just a tool
She doesnt care about the loyalty fern had but her potential
She was one of a select few that has ever seen the fluctuations of her magic aura
Try not to cry challenge failed again. Himmel and Heiter pull at my heartstrings
Try not to cry challenge, difficulty level: impossible
She wants Fern bc Fern saw that Serei is suppressing her mana. A feat no Human to date has done. Doesn't have anything to do w the rejection.
As she is Serie is better than Genau since he doesnt really care if participant die.
it's almost over 😢 Less things to look forward to after work 😭
Serie is not The Goddess or a goddess, she is just a really old elf. And her being a tsundere is pretty obvious and its the most obvious when Flamme died, idk why you guys are upset and thought she lost the plot
You guys consider about reacting to Harry Potter series please ❤
Serie: be my student
Fern: hell no
For the first time on this channel I feel frustrated because they miss so much talking over it
You seem to be in the same boat as a lot of others. And these criticisms seem to come mainly from our Frieren videos. What exactly did we miss that was so important?
There some times... not many, that I wish Ange just shut up a little and concentrate on what is happening.
I wish Serie would hold me
I know everyone bashes Serie for not passing Frieren.
Himmel just have eyes for frieren
3:16 sickening in a good way right? xDD

I would go in more details but the comment is long enough as it is.
when @Seven deadly Sins?
Frieren doesn't need a first class mage, because she already has the Holy Emblem as the last great mage.
Except it is stated several times that nobody really knows what the heck that thing is. The exception being Lernin, and Serie. And I really doubt that it would suddenly start meaning something especially since Serie REALLY seems to have a petty streak when it comes to Freiren.
①Denken visited Richter’s shop, carefully selecting three magical books and a glowing magical tool. He stacked them on the table and said, “You’ll be even stronger in three years,” before leaving.
②“The following expression is an homage to ‘Demon Slayer”,I think.
1.Frieren “So… if you can’t do it? Well, forget it.”
Richter "did I say I couldn’t do it? (I can! Watch out,I'll lip chest out!)”
2.Serie“Won’t you become my student(a demon) too?”
