Tons of players and bands have used Gibson style guitars with humbuckers for rnb and funk it’s laughable anyone would claim you NEED a strat specifically for funk. Doing what you can with what’s available and making the most out of it is the funkiest thing you can do
@@triad5766 If I were to pick a guitar right now for a funk context, it'd probably be an SG. That little bit of extra mids you get with that instead of an LP is exactly what I look for in a funk sound
A good lester with the right electric components can be used for everything. Most of the times people play LPs with modern wiring and hot pickups with a lot of gain. But actually this is no the best LP setting imho
