I just subscribed to your channel as well. I'm in awe that you can take a pen like that and just draw!! Amazing!! Looking forward to seeing more of your videos :). Thank you!
***** Thank you so much! :) Trust me, it took yearsss for me to be able to just draw like that. I used to be so hesitant for fear that I'd mess up the pages, haha.
PPS I like that you don't fret about drawing in your HOBO, I was scared to ruin it first, but now I'm slowly getting to the same point as you - screw it, I will improve it anyway!
mysummertouch Thank you so much! :) I went through most of my life being scared of ruining my beautiful sketchbooks/planners...but the older I get the more I realize how fun it is to just play around and draw freely. I feel so much more at ease. I'm glad you're getting to that point! You'll be so happy that you did~
Hello! I just recently purchased a hobonichi tech and I'm looking for a compact watercolor set. What is the brand of the one you are using? Great video by the way. :)
+Geoffrey Nkanza The one with the black cover (with the kanji written on the cover) is actually in English. The one that has romaji on the cover (beige) is actually in Japanese. The covers are deceiving. She's using the TECHO in English in the original A6 size. They also offer the A6 split into two bi-annual journals, called, AVEC. And a larger A5 size called, COUSINS.
+Verniza Katrina Pambid I don't keep track to be honest. I think it depends on how much you use it and the pressure you write with. Usually the 005 probably lasts me a few months, thats why I like to have a backup. And yes, I always use micron pen over watercolor. Just wait till the watercolor dries before you start drawing/outlining with it.
+Verniza Katrina Pambid Smudging has never happened with me. They dry quickly once on paper. You can line with ink first THEN go over it with watercolor if you don't want to wait for the watercolor to dry..the micron pens are waterproof.
+Verniza Katrina Pambid Hi Verniza! I think part of the reason the Hobonichi is expensive, is not only because the product is from Japan, but mainly because the Tomoe River paper is AMAZING! I don't know how they do it, but the paper is extremely thin, with a slight slickness, yet it's also absorbent. You wouldn't think that a paper could be thin, slick AND absorbent, but it honestly is! The drying time is almost instant with Micron pens, and watercolor paints dry quickly too. If you're sitting on the fence and not sure if investing in a Hobonichi Techo would be cost effective, there are Traveler's notebook inserts (of various sizes) available on Amazon and Etsy. Perhaps you might consider purchasing just a Tomoe River paper "insert" first? Oh, another thing might be to use the Micron (outline) before painting with w/c. Either way, the drying time is quick for both. Before plunking down the $ for the Hobonichi Techo, I thought, "What are all these people gushing about?! Paper is paper, isn't it?" But now I understand. If you like to w/c, it's a worthwhile investment.
Loved your intro! Very inspiring!

Danke für das tolle Video!
Does the pages bleed through when u use water color? So can u actually use both sides of a page?
Lisa Wu I haven't noticed any bleed through, just ghosting since the paper is thin. I haven't had trouble with using both sides.

Where could I buy this planner (in English cause the ones I saw were in Japanese)? Do you have an internet site?

Hi, i just want to know, how long does it take before the micron pen dry out and can paint over with watercolour? Thank you
