It's bit like a dog.... you do it because you can. But, I always look for a side street afterwards to turn off and go for a coffee.... I was not going their direction anyway!
Fun video to watch, and so gracious of Caleb. I can't imagine watching another cyclist pass me at 32 miles per hour on a California road. Thanks for posting such a fun & brutal day on the legs.
Its great fun having a smash with the pros when they return home, Here in Perth we got the boxing day papas world champs, craziest and fastest group ride in the world! :)
It’s impressive how their (pro) lungs clean muscles from lactate, only “living” on a bike for years at maximum levels grant them this characteristic, it’s not only about muscles, simply they have a better air intake, engine speaking. Anyway congrats for the vid!!! From Italy 🇮🇹
Awww man so cool to see coolum beach roads, brings back great memories of my backpacking days, I love the kid at Pizza Hut who’s outside spinning and flipping the sign around ❤️❤️❤️❤️ozzys hope you recover from these fires soon ❤️❤️❤️
Great footage Cam. I've been on that ride......for about 150 metres! and that's another thing I don't need....a rear facing camera! There's no one there on my bunch rides! 😂😂 Cheers Peter
cam dude, this was so neat to see you clinging on beside caleb ewan! major fanboy moment over here. great vid, as always. finally starting to get my gf into cycling this season, and along with lanterne rouge, your channel is a big part of her indoctrination ;) thanks for all you're doing.
Yes this is one of the sport that you can practice it along side professionals for sure. I had the honor to ride along side Alexandro Valverde, Andreas Taffi, Michael Boogert, Eric Dekker, Servas Knaven, Paolo Bettini, Daniel Benatti, Oscar Frierre, Frank Schleck, Hugo Peña and even Eddy Merckx himself. During an exhibition race after the Amstel Gold Race who was held on our Island Curaçao after the UCI season is over in November. Merckx came also because his son Axel also came here to ride for Lotto and Eddy Merckx had an dealer who was selling his brand name bikes here on the island. Great experience.
I'm an AVID very very avid dirt jumper/slope style/MTB rider. i've never been very into road biking or crit racing but i find these videos very interesting because i love technology and i love knowing the numbers on what my body can do. i've run track and field since i was in 3rd grade in the USA so i've always been a decent shape. last year i was in the BEST shape of my life so i decided to say fuck it and buy an entry level road bike. i went with a pretty relaxed bike called the nishiki maricopa. It's infinitely lighter than any mtb ive ever ridden and even lighter than most of my slopestyle bikes. it shocked me how much fun it was and just how much easier it is to commute on such a bike. I've always been one to commute on my mtb because i love hitting those little driveway lips that send you flying into the streets. i'm pretty much ranting on at this point but i have such a love for bikes in general now after finding videos like these. i've always loved bikes but road biking has never done it for me but for some reason, recently it's getting to me and i wanna get in better shape to up my vo2 max and lower my heart rate just to see how far i can push my body. also shoutout to you for bringing awareness to the aussie fires. the world is spiraling out of control and we gotta do something about it.
Freddie OveTT - with a hard T. Mate, he’s Olympic gold medalist Steve Ovett’s son. Great vid BTW. Ewan’s the fastest man in the pro peloton right now IMHO.
I'm a runner but this was a great vid. We don't get access to the pro's like cyclists do, I mean you can't even buy replica racing singlets worn by the elites.
No amateur can hold Zone 6 on the front without sliding back into the pack or a rotating pace line. I knew you were going to blow before I even got to the end.
Thanks for sharing !! Have you had any injuring from overused Achilles? I went for a 200km ride from Sydney to Newcastle off the bat of low kms training. Riding standing up isn't 100% and I can ride 30kms without pain when sitting down. I've had about 2 weeks rest and hoping I can build up on time for 3 peaks come March. If you had experience with this injury, how long was your recovery period? I'm 32 yrs old.
I don't have experience here Jeff. I would be highly inclined to see a physio and also ensure you get the KMs in before these events. The body doesn't like going from zero to hero without anything in between. That will often cause injury in itself. Cam
I remember not long after Mitchellton Scott started I went up to Nagambie to ride with the pros. Managed to hold onto Bayden Cook for 12kms with no real fitness under my belt. Good ride but I was cooked for the remaining 30 odd kms. Wish I could get a chance to ride with some of the pros again given my current fitness levels
Hello, sir, I notice you are riding very early in the morning, meeting at 6:30 and already riding at 7 am. When you ride that early, at what time do you wake up and what is your pre workout meal and what time before riding? Thanks! :)
i improved my 1-20 time by 2.30 min going from 21.30 to 18.57 only thing i changed was from my aluminum framed 105 fuji to a trek emonda sl6 2018. What a difference
Nice video but I have to say you made a little mistake, Caleb Ewan's team does not ride on Shimano but on Campangolo components wich means he does not ride "Di-2" but probably super record EPS. Just a small error I wanted to point out for the future. Correct me if I am wrong.
Great video Cam, wishing everyone safe out there. Can I be a bit of a stickler but doesn't Ewan and Lotto Soudal use Campag EPS and not Di2 sorry to be a bore.
Thanks Cam, I'm in the hunt for some new cameras - your stable footage was amazing - can you let me know what your using? My 3+ go pros are dead. I want to go Garmin but what I just saw from you was impressive.
Wish I could ride on roads with surface as good as in that video. Those major highways, local to where I live in the North West of England are like riding the Arenberg :(.
Howdy! Random but just a quick question, what's ur thoughts on the Boardman SLR range (9.4 9.6) In particular?, thats if u've ridden, or know of someone who has ridde. One. Cheers boss.
@@CamNicholls no worries dude, cheers for getting back to me, just seemed to get decent bit of gear with it (di2 etc) just wasn't sure on the frame ride. Keep up the good vids👌
First, Hope things get better in Australia, you guys are on my positive toughts! Secondly, would you be able to input the temperature on the videos too? As a noob sometimes i think its too hot to ride, cheers from a very hot place too.
haha! I tend to when it's a factor, but it was only 22/23 degrees during this ride. Some of the crits I have done have been in 35, and with 80% humidity, that is a killer. So basically, if I put it on screen it's a factor, if I don't it's not! Cam
Just to be clear. If someone wants to ride at the front, at 500w, you let them. There’s no reason to go round them haha
Hahahahaha, i agree
It's bit like a dog.... you do it because you can. But, I always look for a side street afterwards to turn off and go for a coffee.... I was not going their direction anyway!
"Most of them were behind my wheel, so I really need to invest in a rear gopro in 2020" The subtle Flex made me LOL
Caleb is a talent. He’s got the right attitude too for a sprinter. Glad to see him succeed. Great footage !
Caleb is a sprinter, imagine the pain if it was gilbert, prime cancellera or any professional time trialist.
Caleb was a climber before he became a sprinter. So he's still pretty good at climbs
At my age this sort of bunch ride is over. great video, now where's my mobility scooter.
Same :))
What's your age?
@@Northwindbreeze 55
It looks like Caleb is floating up the road when he’s out of the saddle! Great footage
Yes, it’s a thing of beauty to watch upfront.
That is the byproduct of the GoPros hyper smooth stabilisation. Looks a bit weird when you first see it
Beautiful start to a video with a compassionate plea for his fellow humans. Bravo
Fun video to watch, and so gracious of Caleb. I can't imagine watching another cyclist pass me at 32 miles per hour on a California road. Thanks for posting such a fun & brutal day on the legs.
i love how cam set a format so now i wait and watch every week❤️

Oh wow, I’m a big Caleb fan, very cool to see him pop up in one of your vids!!!
Good on you Cam for supporting the fire relief effort.
Its great fun having a smash with the pros when they return home, Here in Perth we got the boxing day papas world champs, craziest and fastest group ride in the world! :)
BTW. Those numbers you are putting out are huge. You’re a beast!
At first I thought there must be some kind of exchange rate between American watts and Australian watts. Alas, no.
Haha
David Brayton Yeah just as intimidating as the numbers when he’s on the front are those when he’s not. 🙁
And that is why he got dropped. Went to far into the red zone
@@WalrusRiderEntertainment Or rather he went into the red zone for too long

Great perspective, my head was bobbing. Loved that thing at the end. It reminded me of a duke cannon commercial.
