This movie was fun. I give it a solid C. The ending was not as satisfying as I would have liked it to be. I was hoping for them to come into contact in the final act.
Great review , as always Chris ! I just wanna add that yes . maybe showing her explosions and stuff , and her not freaking out ,was a bit of an overreach , but I think what enticed her was that he was charismatic and not a wuss . On that , I beliveve the seduction part was well made , and seduction on itself can made to be suspensful and thrilling , even with a film thats not a thriller or horror at all ! Take care Chris!
my god alrighty. what a film. I actually thought it was a documentary int he trailer for a while through the movie. And over time forgot about that and focused on what it was. It was soooo tense in parts like pick me up in 15 minutes part and its getting close to 15 minutes... urgh. truly enjoy these kind of minimalist location/actor type movies and done quite realistically.
Looks interesting. Definitely will check it out. I just watched “Killing Eve”, which was pretty intense and the characters were very interesting and I am just starting to watch “Orphan Black” which looks promising.
It is for the sake of being self aware that I write this comment, this movie is thrilling as it hits so close to home, I found myself falling for Bilal just as the protagonist was, it makes my life feel so volatile. It's unsettling that we can get fucked so easily. Time. Think is the best way to vet new people, it's not full proof but it's better than diving head first. There's this saying in Trinidad, girls are like close clips you squeeze their heads and their legs open
In the last couple of weeks the European police(Interpol) had great succes with bringing down druglords, terrorist etc.The trick was simple, criminals are always searching for cell phones the cops can't trace. But who made the cell phones? The cops ! And that's how they could listen in and bring down powerful criminals.Real story, sometimes reality is stranger than fiction (Erik)
What a great movie, reminds me of the Netflix show Caliphate. It's so scary that people actually fell for these psychological tricks and left their countries to move to a war zone to be with some dude from the internet
Another issue is what should the western countries do if a woman who got recruited wants to get back home. Should she be under an investigation of some sort, should we even "take her back"? I mean, she's a potentially dangerous person, you never know if she's not on a mission here. Also, I think we should teach children at school how to tell if someone is trying to radicalize you, I feel like this topic is neglected.
Cheers Chris! Yeah, would love to know the real story, if anyone has a link to it. Will put this on my watch list for sure. Currently working throough an older sci-fi series I somehow stumbled across - Odyssey 5. No idea how I missed that back in 2002. Damn good, even if it is a bit low-budget. Peter Weller (Robocop) leads, with some other notables.
Did you know that Peter Weller got his Masters in Art in Roman and Renaissance Art in 2004, followed by a PhD in Italian Renaissance Art History in 2014? He is definitely a multi-talented person.
That sounds kind of steep to me. This was good and enjoyable, but unless you've got a ton of friends or family that are going to join you in watching, that might be a bit too much to spend on the rental.

It’s based on a true story, that’s how it went in real life
@@serena7943you’re right, real life endings can sometimes be unsatisfying.. and it’s based on a true event so that makes it different

@@curiousworld7912 I did not know that! Hey maybe someone can pitch a modern day Othello/Hamlet/Julius Ceasar to him as Robocop...? :D
@@Nostromo2144 Ha! That would be fun! I know I'd watch it. :)
Excellent
30 dollar rental...worth it?

@@MoviesAndMunchies went to the home rental. Was a lit but I'll admit it. The movie was great. Kept me hooked all the way through.
@@MoviesAndMunchies also we all shared the rental on the account so I'd say it was worth it. Seen much worse very much enjoyed it.
